Hi Folks. First, let me thank all of you for the kind letters of concern that I haven't updated the site in so long. It's heart-warming to know that you care about ol' Dragon's welfare. For those of you whose letters weren't so nice (and you know who you are!) and are hiding behind the ASSTR Anonymous email system, GET A LIFE!!! And for the idiot that asked me why I hadn't updated the site and included a nice little Swish script that made everything scroll downward continuously until I killed the process, it's people like YOU that cause the delays to my updates! I hope some of my readers find you and beat you into powder.
Second, I need to pass on a message to the Cuckold Wimp John fans out there that he's been having some serious eye problems and is going to be having surgery to correct them. He has to have his wife (LadyBug) and daughters read his mail to him, so he hasn't been doing a lot of writing lately. He hopes to be back at it soon, though. Your thoughts and well-wishes have been much appreciated!
I haven't posted in a month for a number of reasons - reasons that I'm getting tired of repeating over and over, so I decided to put a little news blurb here for those of you who might actually take the time to read it. For those who won't, well, they'll be getting a much shorter reply than I've been writing, because now I'm spending all my time explaining why I haven't had time to update the site!
About 3 and a half weeks ago, my computer (a laptop) was hit by a virus from a website somewhere. It disabled my ethernet and wireless cards first, preventing me from any outside contact or ability to download updates or fixes. It then proceeded to eat away at my operating system, slowly consuming functions one by one until I couldn't do anything. Norton Antivirus and McAfee didn't catch it, but SpyHunter did - however, it was already too late. I had to wipe the drive and reinstall Windows. I keep the install files of anything I've downloaded on my external drive, so I was able to restore everything but what came on a CD (i.e., MS Office, of which I'm a VERY heavy user of all the tools). Don't bother suggesting OpenOffice or other tools, because they just don't cut it for me - at least I've yet to find anything else that gives me the functionality I use on a regular basis.
The good news is that I also keep the site on my external drive, so it wasn't damaged or lost by this attack. I just can't do anything with the files right now, because I've lost MS-Office and Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, won't allow me to download it - even though I've purchased a license - they'll only mail the CDs to the address on my credit card, a place I rarely get to visit.
Because I travel a lot for work (I'm a computer consultant), I'm very far away from my home (and consequently, my installation CDs), and don't get home very often. My boss agreed to put the installation files on an FTP site for me to download, which was only completed today, but after downloading all 350Mb of it I learned that the file was corrupted and I couldn't open it. I tried re-downloading it, but it is still unreadable. I will address this with my boss in the morning.
I do have an editor (one of my esteemed authors, actually) working to proofread some of the many stories that are piling up in the queue, and as soon as I can read the files again, it will just be a matter of a quick scan and formatting them to post. The first posting will no doubt be HUGE, and I have over 150 stories in the queue as of today, so it'll be a few postings' worth.
To add pain to all of this, my current contract was a two-month engagement that my boss wanted me to complete in only one month. This has meant a LOT of overtime, and consequently not much time to work on the site. So, folks, I haven't just been resting on my laurels, waiting for you to ask me what's going on, why there haven't been updates, why I'm not being considerate of my readers' needs, and other bullshit. I've been working my ass off and trying to recover my computer so I can resume my site! Please, PLEASE be patient.
One last item: I've been at this for 5 years now. In that time, I've seen the site grow from 10 pages to over 100, with over 3,000 stories in my inventory, and no less than 30 new stories a week. The site gets over 25,000 unique hits per day (30,000 right after an update) - a unique hit means if one person visits the site more than once, they're only counted once - measured by IP address, and no, I don't record IPs, but you can bet it can be done if the FBI has reason to!
I don't receive any money for this site - not one greasy dime. Every minute of time that I spend working on this site has been a labor of love - love for sex, love for freedom, and love for free expression of our darkest inner thoughts. I proofread every story before I post it because I want the author's message to be clear and unhindered by grammatical deficiencies. Many of my authors don't speak/write English as their first language, but they make an effort to get their thoughts down here so you can enjoy them.
This is a completely volunteer effort and, except for the much-appreciated heroic efforts of a few authors and a couple of readers to help me with the proofreading, this site is the result of my sweat, tears, lost sleep, and hours and hours of reading, typing, and maybe a little cursing. I'm for the most part a one-man show, and I do have a job, and I do have a life, so if it takes me a while to do an update, it's because I have a damn good reason. So for those of you who hide behind anonymous email systems and fire flame-bombs at me, you are welcome to try your hand at doing a better job. If you can't do better, please keep your non-constructive criticisms to yourself and wait for the next update like everyone else.
If, however, you do have a talent for spotting and correcting grammatical errors, and ARE NOT offended by ANY of the content on this site, and have a lot of time on your hands, why not pitch in and help? And if you're interested and can show me that you'll keep the spirit of Perverts 'R Us alive and kicking, maybe one day you can take over the site and let me get on with the rest of my life. I just don't have the kind of time to devote to this site that I once had, and it's grown to something much bigger than li'l ol' me can keep up with. I'm even open to having multiple webmasters, but they have to prove to me that they're dedicated to the vision of the site.
I WILL NOT close down the site unless G.W. Bush or one of his agents tells me that I have to or go to jail. I'm not interested in spending jail time for entertaining you with fantasies from my authors. ASSTR does a great job of protecting our freedoms, which is one reason why I haven't moved the site from under their wing. My intent is to find someone to either take over the site altogether, or at least help me share the workload. There's so much I wanted to do with this site, but could never find the time to work on it. Anyone I've run into that possessed the talent, wasn't interested in working for free. Those that are willing to work for free don't seem to possess the skills I'm looking for. It's not easy being Dragon, folks! I'm a frustrated perfectionist with a big heart, a LOT of patience, and some really dedicated and talented authors. But I need help if I'm going to keep it going.
Also, Frosty's Cabin is STILL looking for moderators. If you're a regular visitor to the cabin, and have a good track record (meaning you stay within the rules and understand why they're there), and are interested in helping Princess keep things legal, apply to daddys_psychotic_demented_princess@hotmail.com. Thank you!

Greetings everyone,
This message is directed to those of you who either have, or have had, or wanted to have, one or more stories posted at Perverts 'R Us, and if you haven't contributed in a while - WE MISS YOU!!
But more importantly, this is to let you know that ol' Dragon and his chief chat moderator, Princess, are going to be holding some special sessions each week in Frosty's Cabin for you authors. This is an opportunity for you to learn some tips to improve your writing skills, and to have a chance to network with some other authors who might share your particular interests.
If you are interested in participating, but don't yet have a userid in Frosty's Cabin, please submit your author name and date of birth to daddys_psychotic_demented_princess@hotmail.com and she'll make sure a userid is created for you.
At this time, the following sessions are scheduled (note all times expressed in Central Standard Time - that's 'cause it's Princess' time zone!):
Authors Tips & Tricks Friday, March 2, 2007 at 7:30pm CST
This week's session will be a discussion of some of the pitfalls and grammar errors that authors commonly make. By bringing an awareness to some of these things and how to avoid them, your stories will be that much better for the readers (and easier for Dragon!).
Wiki-Story Night Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 7:30pm CST
This session is designed to be a fun night of story-writing. We'll start with a topic, and each participant will contribute a piece of plot, character development, or other information to build the story into a Wiki-masterpiece! The results of Wiki-Story Night will be posted on PRU on a special index page of its own, so we can see how the stories improve over time. This is designed to be a fun evening of networking and working together toward a common goal - entertaining the readers. Hope to see some of you there!
Cheers,
Dragon Webmaster, Perverts 'R' Us
