A Tragedy:
Sesi's mother Bizy became concerned when her daughter failed to return from her trip into the forest to gather mushrooms. Her husband Cort went looking for their little girl. What he found sent him running back to their village. He sounded an alarm and several of the other men joined him including the chief, Grun. Cort led them to the scene.
The men stepped carefully to avoid disturbing the tracks they found. There was Sesi's basket of mushrooms spilled on the ground where she had left them. Evidently whoever had taken the girl did not know the value of mushrooms. None of them would have left the tasty mushrooms behind.
Here and there around the area were strange footprints. One of the prints was in soft soil and was very clear. It was no doubt made by a human, and yet it was different. The print was made by a moccasin that was of a different design than anything they had ever seen.
A chilling thought struck them all. This was not the work of one of the neighboring tribes that lived to the north of them and to whom they were related. No, this was made by complete strangers. Their people no longer had this vast land entirely to themselves.
The men tried to track the small group of men who had taken Sesi away with them. They feared that they might find the girl's murdered body, perhaps even mutilated. It was cold comfort to them that they found no sign of her. The tracks led to a small stream and then disappeared.
Diligent searching up and down the stream with their dogs sniffing the ground finally picked up the tracks again, this time going off in a different direction. Once more they came to another stream but this time they could not find where the tracks continued. They had to face the fact that Sesi was gone.
Knowing that there were neighboring tribes of their people to the north, impenetrable swamps to the south and the great sea to the east, they were led to the conclusion that the new people had come out of the unexplored lands to the west of them. From now on they would have to be on a constant lookout for possible invaders.
Grun sent a runner to the tribe that lived some distance to the north of them. It was important that their people all along the eastern seaboard know that they were no longer alone in this great land. They had inhabited this country for many centuries and in all that time there had never been any sign of other peoples. Now all that had changed.
Their people tended to have smaller families and the growth of their tribes had been quite slow. So even though the original six men and three women who survived the trip across the ocean had increased considerably over the centuries their numbers were not vast. They were vulnerable to invaders who might come in large numbers against them.
When the men returned to the village and informed their families that there were now strangers in the land and they had taken Sesi off with them, there was much mourning for the young girl. Everybody liked young Sesi and they would certainly miss her.
The next morning Rapt failed to show up for breakfast. Cort went looking for the old man and found that he had died during the night in his hut. The village went into mourning for their revered elder which only added to the grief they felt over the loss of Sesi. It would take them a long time to recover from this double tragedy.
A Wedding:
Many months had passed since Sesi was taken to live with her new tribe. They simply called themselves "The People" as though there were no others even worth mentioning. However she did learn that there were numerous other tribes living far to the west of them, many of them hostile to The People.
As populations increased there was pressure to expand and The People had moved ever farther east and taken new lands. Now they had encountered the first tribe ever found to their east, Sesi's people. The land was beginning to gradually fill up and the time was coming to an end when The People could just move into unoccupied new territory. From now on they would have to stand their ground and fight for what was theirs.
But all of this was speculation for consideration at some other time. Sesi was going to be married. Chief Grush was determined to take the yellow-haired young girl as his bride and that was the end of it. His sister, the widowed Grisha, thought the girl was too young, but she kept her thoughts to herself. Grush's first wife Grunda was not too thrilled about it either, but she would make the best of it. Sesi felt much the same way as Grunda did.
It was now the moon of her birth and Sesi figured she had turned eight years old. Grisha being childless had more or less adopted Sesi as her own and she had been making a gift for the girl to mark her eighth birthday. It was a beautiful doeskin dress with fancy beadwork. Now it would become her wedding dress. There were matching moccasins too.
When Grisha presented the dress to Sesi the girl could hardly believe that the woman had gone to so much trouble to fashion such a dress for her. She threw her arms around Grisha's neck and hugged her close. For the first time she felt that she was truly loved by the woman. Grisha could never replace Bizy as her mother but she could be a beloved aunt to Sesi.
Princess Grunda also presented her with gifts, some beautiful bird plumes to adorn her blonde head and polished semi-precious stones strung as a necklace. What a beautiful bride the girl would be! Grunda also told her that as the Chief's new bride she would bear the title of princess from now on. Sesi was also expected to address the whole village that would be gathered to celebrate this event.
Sesi thought about what she might say to The People. She knew that she was still a stranger to many of them and they were curious about why their chief would ever want to marry an outsider like her.
The time of the wedding arrived. Musicians played their horns and drums and the people danced and sang as Sesi was led by Grunda to a small throne next to Chief Grush. The chief looked upon the girl with amazement as did all the people. Never was a bride more beautifully adorned than young Sesi. She had fancy white egret plumes in her long blonde hair, a beautiful new dress with fancy beadwork and fringes, and a beautiful necklace.
Sesi walked with a dignified air about her that she had copied from her new sister-wife, Princess Grunda. She took her seat, smiling and nodding to the people who applauded her. Grunda took her place on another throne at Grush's other side. What beautiful wives he had!
Grush stood and waved the assemblage to silence. "My people, today we celebrate my marriage to this beautiful girl who has chosen to come among us. My first wife Princess Grunda has given her consent to this marriage." Grunda smiled and nodded her head, although in truth her husband had not consulted her about it and Sesi had been kidnapped.
Grush continued, "And now I invite my bride Princess Sesi to say a few words to you as is our custom." It was the first time anyone had ever called her princess and Sesi blushed. Grush did not expect the girl to say very much, perhaps just a few words consenting to the marriage. But Sesi surprised him.
The girl stood then striking a regal air as she looked upon her audience. It was very quiet as they all wanted to hear what this outsider would say to them. "My dear people, I came among you as a stranger only a few months ago. You have all shown me much kindness and I thank you for that. It took me some time to learn your beautiful language and if I still make a few mistakes I hope you will pardon me."
The people all smiled and nodded. Sesi had a charming accent but she spoke quite well. "Princess Grunda has given me this beautiful necklace as a wedding gift and I thank her for her kindness to me. I intend to do my best to be her friend as I become her sister-wife. Our mighty chief's sister Princess Grisha has presented me with this beautiful dress and I thank her for her kindness. I look upon her as my beloved aunt now."
"Moreover I look upon you all as my people now as I join you and become one of The People. Chief Grush has chosen to make this marriage with me to mark an alliance with my former tribe. Together our two tribes will be powerful adversaries to any who may try to come against us." Grush looked at her with amazement. He had made no such alliance.
"I know that there are those to the west who have been a thorn in the side of The People for generations, alway pressing them farther east. No more! This is our land, the land of The People, and we will stand and fight against all who may try to come against us! They will do so at their peril!" Sesi raised her small fist defiantly and pumped the air with it.
The People went wild with applause and excitement at their new princess' brave words. They had been puzzled about the reason Chief Grush had chosen to take this outsider as his new bride. Now it was clear to them. He had done this to seal an alliance with their new neighbors to the east. How clever of him to ally himself with another tribe. Now they would become powerful and able to stand up against the people to the west, who were constantly pressing against them.
Princess Sesi took her seat quietly then and turned to smile at her new husband. "Did I do well, my husband?" she asked him sweetly. Grush just stared at the clever little girl, at a total loss for words. He should be angry with her for her audacity at making such a statement to The People. He had never endorsed any such alliance as she had declared.
Grush knew that he would look like a complete fool if he renounced such an alliance now. The People were wildly enthusiastic as they danced about and shouted their praises of him and his new bride. Finally he smiled at his child bride. He had decided to take her up on her implied promise.
It would be up to Sesi to act as a go-between and help him make the proclaimed alliance come true. If it failed it would be her fault and she would take the blame. If it succeeded he would be seen as the wisest chief ever to lead The People. Indeed with the combined strength of their two tribes they should be able to fight off any threat from their savage neighbors to the west.
The People had a great wedding feast then. After they had eaten the people lined up to pass by their chief and his new bride. They all had the kindest words for Sesi, telling her how delighted they were that she had chosen to become one of them and promising her their undying friendship.
Indeed if anything were to happen to Grush one man told her, they might name her to be their new chief. That would be a first, a female chief! She laughed taking it as a joke but Grush was not amused by the man's comment. Finally all of the dancing, singing and celebrating came to an end. The wedding was over and now came the hard part.
Grush took Sesi to the special marriage tent that had been set up and gaily decorated for the new couple. Alone now he turned to her. "Well now, see what a fix you have gotten me into, girl! This alliance you told The People about had better work."
"Yes I realize that, my husband. It is my life that is on the line now, not just yours. I did it to protect my people, or I should say my former people. It is not clear to me that you would let them continue to live in peace. But now you must. Moreover the alliance that I suggested will be good for your tribe as well as the tribe I came from. It is a good thing."
"I had not realized what a clever little girl you are, Sesi. It makes me proud to take such a girl as my bride. You will make a proper princess indeed. Well, for better or for worse we are both committed to making an alliance with the tribe you came from. But for now we have more pressing matters to occupy our attention. We have a marriage to consummate."
Sesi giggled shyly. She could still be a young girl and act like one. "Would you like to undress me, my husband?" she asked with a smile.
"Yes, I think I would like that very much." Grush took off her necklace and moccasins, took the egret feathers from her hair, and then took off her beautiful new dress. Sesi stood before him proudly in all her naked beauty. He noticed that her nipples were becoming swollen, the first sign of breast development. How pink they were! He had never seen such pink nipples in all his life.
"Now it is my turn husband," Sesi said and she began to undress him. Grush had not expected this but he was pleased to let his naked bride undress him. She giggled when she took off his final garment, his pants, and saw his erect cock wagging at her.
"Oh I think he likes me!" she said, taking his organ gently in her small hand and feeling him. Grush moaned at her touch, enjoying her delicate handling of his male organ. She knelt down before him then. "I believe I owe you one cock-sucking, my husband!" With that the girl took his cock into her mouth and began sucking it and using her tongue on it.
This was not the first time that a woman had sucked his cock but this young girl did it in such a teasing and delicate manner. It was without a doubt the best cock-sucking he ever had. Grush held her blonde head to his groin and pumped himself at her mouth. Before long he cried out and came, shooting gobs of his cum down her throat. Sesi swallowed it all down too, enjoying it herself. Indeed the little girl loved sucking cocks.
When his cock became flaccid she released it from her mouth. Grush was delighted with her. He pulled her gently to her feet and kissed her mouth, tasting his own cum there. "You did that beautifully, my little bride. I think I will honor your request and wait until the god of fertility blesses you with a flow of blood before I penetrate your body."
"I thank you for your kind offer, husband. By doing so you have honored the taboo against penetrating a young girl like me. But the taboo is satisfied if the girl gives herself to you of her own accord. I do so now. Take me my husband, make me your wife and do so with a clear conscience."
Grush could hardly believe his luck. Sesi now gave herself freely and completely to him and he would never have to fear the god of the taboo. He took her in his arms and kissed and caressed her all over, making sweet love to the girl. He went down between her legs and used his tongue on her, giving her sensations she had never experienced before.
Sesi had heard a few older girls talk about this delight but she had never known it herself. Now Grush showed her how true it was. Sesi soon was writhing all over beneath him as he worked at her stiff little clitoris with his tongue. She cried out then as spasms washed over her, experiencing the first orgasm of her young life. "Oh husband, Oohhhh!"
Grush smiled at her, enjoying watching her cum. His cock was stiff again now and ready to take his bride. She was nicely lubricated from her orgasm too. Sesi spread her legs wide seeing his intent to penetrate her and take her maiden head. Gently the man poked his cock head into her. He looked into her eyes smiling at her. Then suddenly he thrust hard into her, tearing through her hymen in one lunge.
Grush rested then halfway into the girl's tight vaginal sheath, letting her get used to the penetration. Sesi smiled up at him then. "Take me husband, I want you inside me." What a brave little girl she was! Grush groaned then and shoved himself the rest of the way into her until his cock head was up tight against her cervix. She winced a little, and then smiled.
"Now we are truly joined as husband and wife," she said. But she found out that there was yet more. Grush began stroking in and out, in and out, and Sesi soon caught the rhythm and worked with him, fucking with him, fucking with him. It felt wonderful! In spite of a little soreness she was getting all excited again. He saw that she was going to cum again and he was delighted with her.
Grush brought her to her orgasm and as her vaginal walls contracted milking him off he shot deep inside her, filling her small chamber with his cum. What a sweet fuck she was! He knew now that Sesi would be his favorite wife from now on, even if officially she was only his second wife. He kissed her gently and they drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.
Morning came and the lovers awakened to face a new day. They would have made sweet love again but Grush realized that Sesi was sore down there. He would not penetrate her again he told her until the soreness was gone. What a considerate husband he was! Sesi realized that she really loved him. She felt truly at home with him now and she would never want to return to her former life even if that were possible.
They busied themselves that day with the formalities of thanking everybody for the splendid wedding festivities and feast that they had all enjoyed. As they went about through the village Sesi could feel the genuine love the people had for her. Truly they were her people now.
Later they made plans to contact her former tribe. It could be a tricky business but Grush had confidence that Sesi could manage it if anybody could. She had already figured out that the best way to go about it was to make her former tribe think that these new people were much stronger than they really were. That would make them welcome an alliance.
An Alliance:
For months now the people of the village near the sea had nervously awaited an attack. It was most unsettling after centuries of peace to know that there were other people in the land, people who might abduct a young girl. The only experience they had with such a thing was from their oldest tradition in which their ancestors had been driven out by invaders and forced into a perilous voyage across the great sea.
They sent scouting parties out to discover the new people to the west. Spies crept close enough to the odd village of weird tents to hear the speech of the strangers. The spies came back shaken to report that these people had slanted eyes and no one could understand a word they said. How could they communicate with such people?
Many warriors from their northern neighbors came to join the people of the village, to reinforce them against an expected attack by the strange people. Their chiefs figured that it was better to fight the invaders when they attacked the southern village than to wait for them to come north and invade their villages too.
No one in living memory had ever fought in any real battle. The warriors made a good show of strutting about with their fine spears but actually fighting with an enemy who wanted to kill them was totally alien to them. They did however have some experience fighting against an occasional vicious cave bear or cave lion as well as smaller bears and cats. Would fighting against vicious men be any different than that?
Then one day scouts from their western outpost in the forest came running to report that the enemy had been sighted and was advancing against the village. Quickly the warriors mobilized to meet the threat. Women took small children and hid in their huts. What happened next was a total surprise to all of them.
The warriors heard the invaders before they saw them. Drums were beating rhythmically and strange horns were blowing, announcing their advance to everybody. Was this any way for an enemy to attack them? Then out of the woods they came, marching as in a parade. A few splendidly dressed warriors came marching toward them carrying their spears high, but it was only an honor guard of a few men.
Behind them were two throne chairs resting on carrying poles each being carried by four warriors along one side and four along the other. Sitting on the chairs were a man and a woman. No, they saw she was just a girl. The man was dressed in splendid garments decorated with many beads and he was wearing an ornate headdress with many large feathers sticking up from it. Clearly he was a most important chief.
Just behind him rode the girl. She too was wearing a splendid dress decorated with many beads and fringes and she wore a necklace of many colored polished stones. She had many white egret feathers in her blonde hair - wait a minute, blonde hair?? The only girl with blonde hair any of them knew of was the missing girl Sesi, long presumed to be dead!
Cort saw that it was indeed Sesi. He gave a cry and was about to rush forward to reclaim his missing daughter. His friends had to restrain him. Clearly this was about more than simply returning an abducted girl.
Grun their chief had a runner fetch him his own robe of office and his headdress. He put the garment on but he was painfully aware of how plain he looked compared to the splendidly dressed chief approaching them. Clearly their strange visitors were coming to parley with his people.
Hastily he ordered the women to prepare a feast for their guests. Fortunately the hunters had just brought in a large buck. The women would get to work roasting it right away. Grun realized that he needed to make a good impression on the visiting chief and hospitality was important to accomplish that.
The procession came to the village and Grun ordered his warriors to move to the sides to allow their guests to approach him. A quick glance told Grush that there were twice as many warriors in this village than his spies had reported to him. Perhaps an alliance with these people would make good sense, he thought.
The bearers set the throne chairs down and Grush rose from his chair. Sesi quickly moved to stand beside her husband. How different she looked now, not only her clothes but her entire bearing. The girl looked like, like a princess! Cort caught her eye and he gave her a smile. She gave her father a quick smile back but then turned to address the chief Grun.
"Honorable Grun, chief of this village, may I present to you the mighty Chief Grush, leader of all The People." Sesi emphasized the last words to make it sound like a great hoard.
"Chief Grush has come here at my request to see if you would be interested in making an alliance with him. Please understand that he does not need to do this as he could easily conquer your small village. But for my sake he is willing to make peace with you."
Grun quickly assessed the situation and figured that he was very fortunate that this strange but powerful chief was willing to be generous to their village. "Come, sit and eat with us," he offered, motioning the women to prepare a place. Quickly they spread robes on the ground for these important visitors to sit on.
They brought baskets of fruits and dried fish and offered it to their guests but Grush with a haughty gesture waved it off. He said something totally incomprehensible to them. Sesi translated, "Chief Grush thanks you for your hospitality but he prefers to discuss these matters with you before accepting food from you."
Implied in his rejection of the food was a suggestion that the talks might fail. The chief said something else then to her. Sesi answered him back in the strange language and smiled at him. Then she addressed Grun and the others gathered around them.
"Chief Grush gives me his permission to inform you that he has taken me as his second wife. I have learned the language of his people and they are now my people too. I am now known to The People as Princess Sesi." This brought looks of incredulity to the faces of many of the men including her father.
"But, but you are only a child, Sesi!" he protested. She turned and addressed Chief Grush in his language. He turned and nodded to Cort, acknowledging him.
"My husband greets you, my father. Yes it is true that I am still a child and the taboo against penetrating young girls is observed by The People too. However if a girl gives herself willingly to a man, the taboo does not apply. Such is the case with me. I have given myself willingly to my husband and we are united as one."
That caused a real stir among the villagers. Turning to her father Sesi added with a smile, "Know that I am very happy, father. My husband is very kind to me. My life is with him now and you must understand and accept that this is so." Clearly they had no choice.
Grush said something more to her in his strange tongue and Sesi discussed it with him briefly. Then smiling at Grun she said, "As you know Chief Grun, it is customary for a lesser partner to pay tribute to a greater partner to obtain his protection. My husband could rightfully demand that you supply us with fish and game."
"However as a courtesy to you because I come from this village, Chief Grush is willing to treat you as an equal and he only asks that you share the knowledge of your fine spear points and hooks with his flint knappers. They in turn will share their techniques with your artisans. Also he may ask you to supply some warriors from time to time if other tribes try to attack those in our alliance. With a strong alliance none can come against us or against you, Chief Grun."
This seemed to be a very good deal to Grun and he quickly agreed to the alliance. Only then did Chief Grush relax and accept food. The other strange men in his entourage also sat down and accepted food. Sesi was kept busy translating between the chiefs and other men including the flint knappers and artisans who shared their knowledge with one another.
After awhile the large deer was ready to eat and everybody enjoyed a good feast with much jesting and laughing. Sesi also was able to spend a little time with her mother Bizy and to assure her that she was just fine. Bizy could hardly believe how much her little girl had grown up into a regal little lady.
Finally it was time for Chief Grush and his entourage to return to their own home. The bearers carried him and his princess off riding on their throne chairs. However this was only for effect and once they were all safely beyond sight of the village Grush and Sesi got down and walked the rest of the way. They were very happy with their success.
So it was that the two tribes developed a strong alliance and in time they learned each other's language. Using the different techniques for tool making they developed spear points, hooks and needles that were superior to the other tribes who threatened them.
Later when an enemy tribe came against The People they called on warriors from the village near the sea to join them and they routed the enemy. The enemy tribe could not stand against them and their better weapons which gutted many of their warriors. After that The People were no longer troubled and Chief Grush ruled peacefully for the rest of his life.
After she grew old enough to be blessed by the fertility god with her flow of blood, Sesi gave her husband many children. The chief and his princess loved each other and they truly enjoyed their couplings. They only regretted that none of the children had her blonde hair, but then it was known to be a very rare thing.
However in her later years two of her grandchildren, cousins to each other, married. They produced a darling blonde-haired daughter much to Sesi's delight.
Epilogue:
History begins for the most part with the written word. We know much about people who have lived during the past six thousand years, but very little about those who came before. It would be wrong for us to dismiss such people as being of little importance. We may be sure that there were many brave heroes in prehistoric times, but we simply do not have their stories.
Something happened nearly 15,000 years ago that caused ancient Native Americans from Europe to join peacefully with some of the ancient Native Americans from Asia, based on the evidence of their combined and refined tool-making skills. It might even be that the reason for this was because of a heroic little girl named Sesi.
The End.
