One had only to look at the Sahara Desert of Africa to see what the eventual result of rain forest destruction might be.

There was the misdistribution of food and other vital resources so that some nations were fat with excessive resources while their fellow humans were literally starving to death in some poor nations. There was widespread corruption with so many people lining their pockets at the expense of others. There were wars caused by power-hungry dictators looking to expand their borders. There were also religious wars by people intolerant of beliefs other than their own.

There was crime committed by people wanting to obtain something that was not theirs, and to get even with others they disliked. There were also crimes of passion with many brutal rapes and killings. All in all, the humans had made a huge mess of so many things on Earth.

In spite of all these ills, there were people of good will who wanted only to do good, but they often were unable to block the evil that others did. But now they had a powerful new ally in the aliens who had arrived and were now in orbit above their planet. The masters could not hope to cure all of Earth's many ills but they could provide much help to the people of good will.

Xon and the masters identified the evil that motivated so many of the more powerful people on Earth. They found ways to expose these evils to the public. In many cases that was enough to begin investigations by the humans themselves to expose and root out such evil people and bring them to justice. Scandals were reported everywhere, but they were also dealt with swiftly.

Armies of aggression found that their rockets, bombs, and other weapons no longer worked while the defending armies had no such problems. The same applied to terrorists who found that they were no longer able to blow themselves up and kill innocent people in the process. Dictators were overthrown and new democracies replaced them.

Criminals also found their weapons no longer worked and the police were able to solve more crimes. Rapists were prevented from abducting, raping, and murdering victims as they frequently experienced a physical failure of their muscles so that they were unable to carry through with their evil plans. With people of goodwill newly installed in positions of authority, they saw to it that starving people in other nations were now provided with adequate food. People everywhere rejoiced as things improved. Many believed that God himself had intervened to put things right on Earth. The United Nations had become more powerful as those who would block its work for their own selfish interests had been replaced by new national and world leaders. It was now time for the masters to reveal themselves to the humans. They contacted the Secretary General of the United Nations and arranged for an appearance before that world body.

It caused a great stir among the nations of the world when Xon and a few masters appeared before that August body. They told of how they had left their own home world by necessity and of how they had found this new world, this Earth. They said they wanted to share the planet with the native humans as equals.

They revealed some of the ways they had used to expose the corruption of former national and world leaders and to stop crime generally. Their intent they said was to provide a better world for all. The masters did not tell the humans that they intended to mate with the Earth girls, however.

The humans could see that these beings were not human, although their appearance was similar to humans. Some of the assembled diplomats were more accepting of the aliens than others were. They figured that anyone who had been able to cure so many evils among the humans must be good beings and worthy of respect.

As word spread throughout the world that they now had highly advanced aliens living among them, some leaders panicked. They ordered their armies to attack the spaceship that was no longer cloaked and hidden. However their rockets and other weapons all failed. Like it or not, the aliens were here to stay and there was nothing the humans could do to prevent it. Even the most reluctant human leaders had to grudgingly accept that this was so.

The masters introduced frequent sex as a cure for many of the humans' social problems. They encouraged those who could to set up free match-making organizations where lonely people could be matched up with others. Were the androids entitled to reproduce themselves? If not, they would die off eventually and there would be no new androids to replace them.

Grun spoke up then. "My examination of Xon and Xera indicates that their new biological enhancements have become so integrated with their electro-mechanical systems that I believe it would now be impossible to remove the biology without killing them. When we arrived at this new world we masters did not hesitate to find a way to reproduce ourselves using Earth girls. If that was the right thing for us to do, how can we deny this ability to our faithful androids?"

After more discussion the masters concluded that it was only fair to the androids to allow them this ability. They also decided that they would no longer be known as androids. Indeed they had now become true cyborgs and people in their own right, capable of living their own lives.

Over the years that followed, Xera had many babies. They grew up and had babies of their own. Within 60 years of their arrival on Earth the last of the masters died off. Within 110 years the last of the true humans also died. All of the people on Earth were now a blend of the two races, human and master, and all were shades of violet, maroon, and purple.

Only Xon and Xera and their offspring still carried on the true pale blue color of the planet Origin. As a result it was only natural for them to take charge of all the important positions and soon they were running everything on Earth.

Xon and Xera lived to see their offspring rule the entire Earth. They had not planned for this to happen but they did not regret it. Indeed they were proud that their progeny had truly become the new masters of the Earth.
