Adults Only
Story Codes are used to describe what is in the story. There are standards for codes, but they differ from forum to forum and I've never bothered reading them anyway. I pretty much use abbreviations that seem clear and concise, but just in case they're not...
Sex and Ages as applied to main characters:
Because age is one of the most significant aspects of a stories appeal to the reader, it is always listed first in the story codes.
g - (girl) female age 12 and below
f - (teen) female age 13-17
F - (adult) female age 18+
b - (boy) male age 12 and below
m - (teen) male age 13-17
M - (adult) male age 18+
In my codes whichever comes first is normally the aggressive or dominant partner in a scene if applicable, or just identify them by age. When scenes have multiple partners it will be demonstrated using multiple letters, or a plus sign. Multiple letters indicate 2 characters having sex with 1 or 2 partners such as MM/f, or MF/bg for example. The plus sign indicates more than 2 ie. M+/F, or F/m+
Other codes may be used as well to identify sexual scenes involving unique partners:
TG - Transgender and tg - Teen Transgender
TS - Transsexual and ts - Teen TranssexualTG and TS are technically different, but I tend to use both of them the same. I prefer TS personally and tend to use it in those few stories I've done with such characters in them. In case you don't know a Transgender person is someone who is physically male or female, but identifies and lives as the opposite sex. A Transsexual is someone who has undergone surgery (or some other method) to change their sex. This is most commonly associated with males becoming female, but applies equally to females becoming male.
Dog - Exactly what it sounds like, and Horse - Which is self-explanatory, someone is having sex with an animal and probably having a good time doing it
Level of Consent:
The level of consent is usually fairly straightforward, but there may be cases where the border between reluctant and non-consensual become fuzzy. I try to express it as accurately as I can, but you should always remember that our opinions on what is consensual and what isn't may differ.
Cons - Consensual, meaning everyone in the scene agrees to have sex with few or no reservations.
Reluc - Reluctant, meaning there is some coercion involved in getting one or more characters to participate in sexual activity
NC - Non-Consensual, someone is being forced to do something they do not wish to do and are generally not having a very good time
Story Types and General Content:
Provides a general description of the story's setting or background, and I tend to use it to identify stories that occur outside our 'normal' reality, or have elements typical of a certain fiction genre. I don't usually stray too far from the ordinary day to day world around us. This code may also identify certain aspects of the story type or content.
Ghost - Ghost Story. When there are supernatural aspects important to the plot or a scene, such as in "My Dead Hands" for example
EH - Erotic Horror. Exactly what it sounds like.
Sci-Fi - Science Fiction, meaning futuristic, or the story includes strange phenomena such as ESP or UFO's central to the plot
Romance - When two or more characters are romantically involved and it is the primary focus of the plot
Drama - I used this just once I think, it was a very dramatic story. I guess it just means that the story is a lot more serious than most of my work.
Fant - Fantasy, where it is obvious that the laws of nature are being bent to provide new and interesting plot twists and characters, "Wishes Come True" is a good example.
NOTE: in some other code systems 'fant' means infant. I don't do babies, and I probably never will, so I've used it differently here. I hope that doesn't confuse too many peopleNo Sex - When the story has no graphic sexual scenes
Slow - I use this to mean that there is a lot of character or plot development rather than just wall-to-wall sex. Remember that slow does not mean boring!
Violent - Used when the story contains graphic violence which may or may not be depicted during a sexual encounter or scene
Drugs - When the story portrays graphic drug use, not necessarily in a positive manner, but I'm not always as negative as most people would like either.
Humor - Is when there are funny things in the story - intentionally. The humor may not necessarily be the focal point of the story, but most often it is central to character development.
BDSM - Bondage & Discipline, Dominant/submissive, Sadomasochism relationships as a part of the plot, theme, or a particular scene in the story.
Sexual Orientation:
I will sometimes list the general orientation of characters in the story if it is something out of the ordinary, or unexpected. If no orientation is specified then the proper conclusions can be drawn from the Sex and Age codes.Bi - Bisexual, sex with members of both sexes by a single person
Gay - Two men having sex, although the term is often applied equally to women
Les/Lez - Lesbian, two women having sex
Solo - A single person, male or female, having sex with himself...I don't think I've ever used this one, but I might someday
Thematic factors or Influence:
These codes will point out certain aspects central to the story's theme or character development, or more simply let the reader know if a certain fetish is being played to.
First - Loss of virginity, this normally refers to female vaginal virginity, but it may apply to anal virginity as well (in the case of males) or, it may refer to the first sexual encounter of any type for a character
Med - Medical, meaning there are doctors and/or nurses involved in those roles
Student - When a character is in an educational environment for a sexual scene, or a teacher is involved in that specific role
Rel - Religion, when some form of religious belief or setting is central to the plot or characters
Prost - Prostitution, one or more of the characters has sex for money
Sexual Activities:
These codes provide all the necessary information to understand what they can generally expect to find as they read the story. It should always be remembered that the terms are usually very broad and are not specific enough in this context to provide any but the most basic information. I have been guilty of deliberately 'forgetting' to place certain codes because in doing so I felt that the story was compromised. Some people found that rather irritating as I found out later, but I still think it was the right thing to do.
I've tried to order these somewhat by general category, some things go well together, some don't, but that's neither here nor there. More complete definitions of what is what can be found elsewhere on the web. I'm really not trying to write a dictionary or anything here.
Inc - Incest, sexual relations between relatives, although usually indicating close relatives ie. Father/daughter, Mother/son, Aunt/niece, etc.
Cuck - Cuckold. When a husband is replaced in the sexual relationship with his wife by someone else, usually another male often called a "Bull"
Mast - Masturbation, normally used if masturbation is a significant part of a scene or storyline
Oral - Fellatio and/or cunnilingus. May also include any fetish involving the mouth, although these are usually best described with other codes
Anal - Anal Intercourse, or a lot of anal play is involved in a particular scene or the plot. May include analingus, for exampleToys - Used to describe the significant presence of vibrators, dildos, butt plugs, etc.
Cheat - When spousal infidelity is central to the storyline
Voy - Voyeur is when someone watches a sexual act between other persons and receives sexual gratification from watching
Exh - Exhibition is when a person is knowingly watched during sex, usually deliberately, and receives pleasure from it
Public - When sexual encounters occur in a public place
Preg - Pregnant, may be followed by a question mark if the issue is unresolved at the end of the story. Kind of a spoiler in my opinionBeast - Having sex with animals, there will always be a code to explain ie. f/dog or Dog/f
Pierce - When a character is bodily pierced for largely cosmetic purposes, but with sexual overtones usually
Brand - Branding for generally cosmetic reasons, but often performed as part of a sexual ritual...at least in my stories
Fist - Fisting, vaginal or anal penetration by the hand
WS - Water Sports, or GS - Golden Showers, a pleasant way to say Piss Games, involving urinating on (or in) a sexual partner or yourselfTV - Transvestite a person who dresses in the clothing of the opposite sex for sexual pleasure. Not the same as TG or TS although some people miss the distinction.
Forced Fem - Forced Feminization is when a male is coerced into dressing as a female
Sleep - Sleepy Sex, meaning one or more partners is unconscious during sex
Necro - Necrophilia, sex with the dead (this will almost always be consensual for obvious reasons)
Snuff - When someone dies to satisfy a sexual desire. This can be suicide, murder, or accidental and may be consensualRape - Pretty much what it is. generally non-consensual in my stories, but a story may have a consensual rape theme
BB/CBT - Ball Busting is when a man's testicles are punched or kicked or otherwise abused. CBT is Cock and Ball Torture.
Cast - Castration is the removal of the testes
Pen - Penectomy is removal of the penis
Ped - Pedophilia, I use this when characters under the age of 12 are used in a sexual situation. I don't do it often, so I like to reinforce it as people may be offended.Bukkake - The Japanese sport of multiple men cumming on a woman's face and body
Suicide - Self-explanatory
Amp - Amputation, the loss of one or more limbs
FGM - Female Genital Mutilation, also Infib - Infibulation, used when a female character has a clitorectomy, or is infibulated.Sperm - Indicates a sperm fetish, usually drinking or wearing it
Asphyx - Asphyxia, also Breath - Breath play, includes hanging, bagging, strangulation, etc.
Size - When the size of the penis is important to the plot or a character's motivation
If I use any additional codes in the future I'll add them to my list.
Surprise!
