Rejuve stories take place in the universe created by lurking dragon. In this universe criminals, elderly people, sick people, people involved in accident, or people who just want to be younger, are rejuved to childhood.
For criminals it is a very painful sentence of punishment. After being rejuved to childhood they are assigned spanko parents, who have the job of punishing the little criminals often and severely.

It was stupid really, thinking it would be worth it to become a penitatas, just to get the rejuvenation she wanted so badly but couldn't afford. At the time she had only been thinking about how much her bones ached in the morning, and how irritating it was that she could no longer hear what people were saying without asking them to speak up or repeat themselves.
Oh, to be young again; that was her only thought. Rejuvenation was an expensive process though; it would take her at least another two years to save up the money. Not for the medical procedure itself, of course. They had made that cheap enough for almost anyone to afford. No, the real expense was the accounts that had to be set up to pay her 'parents' their fee. Not to mention the money that had to be set aside to raise her until she was old enough to support herself.
It would have taken two more years at least, and that was far too long to wait when her body was aging rapidly. So she'd stolen a few items. Small, inexpensive, and she made sure that the shopkeeper had seen her do it. To her frustration, the man had been kind! The jerk had refused to press charges and all that went on her record was a warning. Damn!
She tried again, a different store, a more expensive item. Finally she was arrested, tried, and convicted, but to her horror it wasn't the cycle of soft time she had hoped for. She had been candid about the reasons for her arrest but she had forgotten how the penal system tried to discourage 'Free Riders' as they were called.
She was sentenced all right...4x8-12 with three cycles of mandatory hard time before she could even hope to finish her final cycle as a soft timer! A minimum of twelve years of painful spankings, horrible punishment days, and being treated like a naughty little girl.
She left the courtroom still in shock and the process was completed quickly. She stood there, shivering in a hospital gown that was suddenly far too big for her tiny body and began to cry. Why couldn't she have waited just a few more years until she had saved the money? Why hadn't she been more patient? Why....
The door was opening and her new parents were entering. Soon she was getting her very first spanking. Her sore red bottom bouncing, she howled and kicked her way through the painful punishment. Regret and remorse was instantaneous.
Youth just wasn't worth the price.

This is one of the funniest stories I've read on the Rejuve Universe.
I liked it because the lead character's motive for rejuvenation was original and it was perfectly conveyed by the author. What about a special punishment reserved for "free riders" to make the originality complete?
But to be honest, I was left hanging. The story had great potential but it was too short. I wish even half of the lead character's day as a penitatas was written. I bet the lead character would even be remorseful once she felt her first spanking.

This is a well written story. It explains the overall plot quite well and thoroughly. When I read it, I picture it in my mind as a movie, and so I think the build is good. I am not certain that it is incredibly original, but it was a smooth read. I like the part where she realizes that the punishment she is craving isn't always the punishment she receives.

Ah, the troubles one gets into when they think they have a good reason for bucking the system. It is obvious that not everyone agreed that just wanting to be young again was a good reason to steal your way into the rejuve universe.
I liked that this was about a very older women who had not run afoul of the law, except by choice. Then like many, came to the realization that her choice was very foul indeed.
I don't feel that over all this is a very interesting story, but I'm never really felt any of the rejuve stories were very interesting. Just thought I should be truthful with that acknowledgment.
