I regret to inform you that our student discipline problems continue. As you know, corporal punishments have become ineffective since the after-school BDSM club started. We are hesitant to assign lines due to the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome.
Henceforth all infractions will be dealt with through arbitration.

A lot can be said for so short a story. A delightfully humorous piece that made me chuckle. Extra curricular programs have changed a lot in my day. An ironic little twist, corporal discipline not having an affect any more. Gee, I wonder why?

Your story brings a smile to my face. The tone of your letter strikes just the right note between comedy and haplessness, just like many other institutional letters we all deal with. This is hysterical. I love the second to last line. Very punchy little mini-saga. The only scary part is that aside from the fact that BDSM hasn't become an accepted, tolerated sexual deviation yet, this sort of letter isn't too far off from reality.
