I had just convinced my wife to try anal sex. She wanted to warm up with some pictures before we started, so we surfed the web a bit, and that's where the trouble came in. Many of the sites show a open anus picture supposedly after the event. She's now worried that she'll be like that for a protracted length of time. How long does the "open" look stay that way? And how long is the anus
visually different from the "before" state? (Hours, days, or weeks?) She likes to wear thongs to the beach and is worried that people will be able to tell the difference if she lies on her stomach.

Hmm, medically, I'll leave that up to Dan, but from what I know, fear not, her asshole will be just fine, lol. I believe that she will "gape" like that only right after the act has happened and that the anus, after being stretched so, will close itself back up. The only way it can go wrong, however, is if you do something wrong and literally tear the skin apart, so BE CAREFUL!!! In my experience, my own anus has never really gaped open like that - even right after, but I doubt that if something does happen, it'll take many tries for it to happen. Laura is right, your wife's asshole will be fine! There is no medical evidence to suggest that anal sex has any detrimental effect on the anus, unless it is done roughly, without proper lubrication or with an object larger than a penis. Remember, the anus allows an average sized penis movement through it each day! The 'gape' effect you see in porno pics is caused by relaxing the muscles around the anus and is actually quite difficult to master. If your wife is able to do this it will help your entry, and rest assured that her anal sphincter muscles will close right up again immediately after sex.
