Codes: nosex, combat
Dizzy awoke to find herself in an unfamiliar situation. It was dark, so she couldn't see anything; she felt a body pressed against her own, and it wasn't Miller's.
Then she remembered, and sighed, resting her head heavily against the mat.
"Dizzy ...?" Qi suddenly said quietly.
Dizzy jumped slightly, startled. "Yeah?"
"Is it ... is it really better if you just give in ...?" she asked.
"I ..." Dizzy blushed. "It feels easier, yeah ..."
"Oh," said Qi softly, and sighed.
The door opened. "Time for breakfast!" said Miller. "After that ... well, Liss and and I decided that we'd trade pets for the day ..."
Jones stepped into the computer room, and was promptly greeted by a series of cheers from the other scientists there.
"What ...?" exclaimed Jones.
"Congratulations on completing the difficult and dangerous task of getting laid!" said another of the scientists.
Jones grinned, blushing. "Er ... well, it was nothing ... Miller's the one who chose me for this ..."
"No time to party!" said someone else. "I'm getting some funny readings from airvent 47-B ..."
Jones frowned, moving over to the monitor. "Give us a visual."
The screen showed the air vent from the outside. It was covered by a grating that was impenetrable, unless an intruder was made of spaghetti.
Jones said, "Hmm. Doesn't look like anything's out of the ordi—"
On the monitor, the grating simply fell over, revealing an opening wide enough to crawl through.
"— holy shit," said Jones. "Check the motion detectors in the air vent system."
Miller was leading the leashed (but for now, clothed) Qi down the hallway when a ceiling panel suddenly fell, and a woman jumped down into the hallway in front of him. She had short black hair, and looked something like a witch except ... sluttier, and she carried a cyan-blue bass guitar. "Who the hell are you!?" exclaimed Miller.
"Just call me I-no," she crooned. "So, this is your great creation, hmm?"
Uh-oh. "Qi, knock her out," said Miller.
Qi stood straight up, felt herself charging forward —
I-no suddenly had her in a headlock. Startled, Qi froze, eyes wide with terror. I-no then lifted up the metal collar. "Let's see what we've got under here ..."
Miller stared. There was a frayed edge to the ribbon. The seal could be broken any minute! We've got to —
That was right when the intruder alarms went off. I-no dropped Qi, spun around, and hit Miller upside the head, knocking him out. Before Qi could react, I-no did the same to her.
The blast door slammed shut, blocking off all ways in and out of that area. There was a similar noise from the air vents.
A large group of soldiers faced each set of doors, just in case they weren't powerful enough to withstand a rampaging Gear. And even if they were, a group of soldiers was a really good idea.
"Report," said Liss, stepping into the command room.
"Well, it looks like we've got a major case of sabotage here," said Jones. "Every single auto-alarm has been disabled; we've had to re-route everything manually."
Liss nodded. "Any ID on the culprit?"
"I-no," said Jones.
"Oh ... dear," said Liss. "Send the Gears in."
Jones frowned. "Qi's already in, but we think I-no may have sabotaged her control seal as well," he said. "We can't get any direct reading on her. But I'll have Dizzy ready."
"Station her in front of one of the doors, then see to it that I-no gets out that way," said Liss. "Then we'll deal with Qi however we can."
"Sir, I've gotten a reading on Qi," said one of the men. "She's lost her collar, but ..."
"Spit it out, then!" said Jones.
"Er ..." the man frowned. "It says 'Status: Gold/Ex.'"
"Oh," said Liss. She felt her stomach dropping to around her ankles.
"And ... Dizzy's still sealed away from using any Necro abilities," said Jones.
"Yeah," said Liss. "Oh well ... here goes nothing!"
In short order, Dizzy was dressed and in front of the blast doors, accompanied by a large group of soldiers. She shivered, realizing that this was why they were using her: to fight.
"Preparing to open Blast Door Set 33-H7," said the voice of the Machine. "Initiating sequence in ten seconds. Nine ... eight ..."
BAM.
The blast doors shook. A dent appeared in them.
"Sequence aborted," said the Machine's voice.
BAM.
Another dent appeared. A scream of tearing metal, and a large blue blade stuck out of the blast doors. Then they exploded.
"Ohhh shitshitshitshitshit ..." muttered one of the other soldiers.
And then several orange rays of light shot outward. Dizzy threw herself to the side to avoid them, just in time for a huge blast of light to tear past, sending all the soldiers sprawling.
Dizzy whimpered and stood up. There stood Qi, nude, her collar gone. Her face seemed dull, almost lifeless, but her eyes blazed with a fierce hatred.
Oh no, thought Dizzy. It's happened to her, too ... I've got to stop her!
"What the hell was that!?" exclaimed Jones.
Liss winced. "I think Qi's figured out how to use Gamma Ray," she said.
"Damn!" said Jones. "Now what're we going to do!?"
"Is the Machine ready for another Genesis?" said Liss.
"What!? No!" said Jones. "There's no way it'll be ready this soon!"
Liss nodded. "Then we'll have to just trust in Dizzy."
Dizzy charged forward and came to a stop as Undine manifested, stabbing forward with an ice blade. Qi, however, simply jumped over the blade, her red wing swinging downward and becoming a large club. Dizzy yelped and stumbled back, swinging her tail towards Qi; the tail morphed into a serpentine demonic creature with teeth. But Qi grabbed it with her bare hands, and threw Dizzy aside. She yelped, crashing into the wall.
Then Qi whimpered and clutched her head, sinking to her knees. Dizzy hurriedly got to her feet and charged towards her —
— right in time for Qi to spread her wings wide. They glowed brightly, beams of light shooting out in all directions. Dizzy didn't even have time to react as the light slammed her backwards, crashing against the wall, and slumped to the floor, unconscious.
Jones stared, open-mouthed. "I ... I think I should've saved my exclamatino of 'what the hell was that' for later," he said.
"Hikari no tsubasa," murmured Liss.
Jones blinked. "Pardon?"
"Wings of light," said Liss. "That was Japanese. It was ... her ultimate attack."
Jones shivered. "I ... hope she's okay ..."
Qi wobbled a bit; it felt as though she'd been asleep, and had a bad dream ...
Then she saw Dizzy lying on the floor in front of her. "D ... Dizzy?" she said timidly, hesitantly bending down next to her. She seemed to be breathing raggedly, though ...
Footsteps. Qi looked around, and ran, faster than she'd ever thought she could before. In fact, she was probably, she realized, running faster than most horses could gallop ...
"She's heading for the experimental teleport room!" someone shouted. Around the corner she came upon a surprised group of soldiers, armed with swords and a few strange devices she didn't recognize, but she just plowed through, bowling them over and knocking them aside.
Onward, through unfamiliar corridors, she ran, until she burst through a set of double doors, to a strange chamber. She screeched to a halt. There was a large blue column of light, glowing brightly, and she stopped just short of falling into it ...
One of the soldiers with the strange devices burst in. He aimed it at her and pulled the trigger; a ball flew out from it and spun around Qi, wrapping a steel rope around her. She yelped, stumbled forward into the blue light ...
And there was an immense cacophany of light and noise.
"Error: Spatial anomaly," said the Machine.
"What!?" exclaimed Liss.
"Experimental teleport system has malfunctioned," said the Machine. "Subject DZ-001 has entered spatial portal, but the other end had not been fully constructed yet. Unable to recover location of subject DZ-001 if indeed subject still exists."
Liss's heart sank. They managed to create a Gear — not quite the same way they'd done it originally, but very close — and now they'd lost it.
Miller slowly woke up. Let's see ... I'm not dead ... and I can hear the sound of a sink, and some sort of metallic items being washed ... and I wouldn't be taken to the kitchen, so ...
He opened his eyes, finding himself in the hospital wing. Ah, good. Liss was there, looking down at him worriedly.
"What happened ...?" he said.
Liss placed a hand on his shoulder. "I-no knocked you out," she said. "She ... sent Qi on a rampage, and we tried to use Dizzy to stop her, but ..."
"But Dizzy wasn't prepared," said Miller, and sighed. "Where's Dizzy now?"
Liss looked to her side. Dizzy was kneeling next to the bed, silent and unmoving, though her eyes looked damp ...
"Ah," said Miller, smiling weakly and ruffling her hair. "Glad you're all right."
Dizzy's only response was to purr softly.
"So where's Qi?" said Miller.
Liss frowned. "She's gone," she said quietly. "She got to the teleport lab, and there was an explosion ..."
Miller shivered. "Oh," he said quietly, his head dropping back against the pillow. "We lost her."
Liss nodded. "We'll ... probably be able to find a replacement, but ..."
"Where's I-no?" said Miller suddenly.
Liss frowned. "We don't know," she said. "She disappeared in the confusion ..."
The nurse who'd been washing various medical implements suddenly began humming. With a vague sense of inevitability, Liss and Miller turned towards the sink, towards the nurse, who had short, black hair. She suddenly dropped what she was doing and turned towards them, grinning. "Glad to see you're awake, harem-boy," she said impishly. "Too bad about your pet, huh?"
Miller's face contorted with rage. "Dizzy," he said, "get her."
"Ooh, sending yer other pet after me!" crooned I-no. "This'll be fun! But, you've given me a really fun idea!" She got up and charged towards the exit.
Dizzy ran after her. As soon as they were out of the hospital room, I-no tore off her nurse's outfit, revealing her red revealing outfit underneath, and punched a hole in the ceiling panel above her.
Out fell the hat, which landed neatly on her head, and the guitar, which she caught in both hands. "See you in hell!" she said. "Let's rock!"
Liss was speaking furiously into the comm unit. "Will we be able, having removed the Necro seal, be able to put it back on again?" she said. "Good. Remove it."
I-no swung her guitar, trying to smash it into the side of Dizzy's head. Dizzy jumped back, and thrust her hands forward, a large chunk of ice thrusting out of the floor and sending I-no sprawling. She snarled, getting back to her feet, and pulled a stage microphone from nowhere, swinging it. A mace was attatched to the bottom. Dizzy yelped, crashing backwards as it hit her stomach ...
And then her darker wing became a roaring, snarling Grim Reaper impersonator, who sent a scythe spinning out at I-no, who ducked. "Uh-oh!" She jumped at Dizzy, kicking her in the face, and then landed on the ground in front of her —
— which suddenly wasn't there. I-no fell into a bright pinkish portal, as Dizzy transformed completely into Necro.
HAVE A NICE DAY, said Necro, magically creating a bow and arrow. A large, stone grey coffin fell in front of him, and he fired, sending several arrows of flame out, blasting it to bits, and revealing I-no's startled and stunned form as she collapsed onto the ground, even as Necro changed back to Dizzy.
But then he manifested again from her wing, and looked towards Liss and Miller with a snarl.
"Put the seal back on!" Liss shouted into the comm system ...
... and then Necro roared, trying to struggle as he was drawn back into the wing, which glowed brightly and then flickered.
Dizzy whimpered softly, and fell backwards. Undine manifested from her wing, and caught her before she hit the ground.
"Well," said Miller, "glad we got that over with ..."
Summary, for those who don't want to read a fight scene: I-No frees Qi, who goes berserk. Miller and Liss send Dizzy to intercept, but she is defeated, and Qi escapes and disappears through a malfunctioning teleport system. Dizzy then fights and defeats I-No.
