Pappy
Heathen57
The circle is complete
Having returned to the beginning,
The body to the earth,
The spirit rising
His spirit is free now,
Unburdened by this earth
The binding of this life.
No longer a concern,
A gruff boisterous shell,
Hid a gentle heart beneath,
Who gave of himself freely,
What more can one bequeath?
In the cry of the hawk
His voice again is heard.
The spirit if the man,
Becomes one with that bird
The songs have been sung,
Pappy is at rest,
But his spirit still surrounds us.
He continues on his quest.
The land that he loved,
He becomes one with it again.
For his time here was over,
But new paths remain.
This gentle soul,
Inside of this giant of a man,
Is now free to continue
For the next step in the plan.
The cycle that is life,
Is set for us all,
Will we wander from our path,
Or listen to it’s call.
The gentle spirit has taken flight,
As thus it must be.
But a bit of that spirit,
Will remain with me.
