John and Argent by cmsix

Chapter 79

I went back out into my cave and to the table; taking a seat. Yareela came over and asked me if I wanted coffee.

"I think I'd rather have a mug of bruga."

She went for it and when she came back I pulled her into my lap. She giggled and wiggled against dicky and she was probably surprised when he didn't rise to the occasion. I was a little surprised myself but not very; the truth was that I didn't have pussy on my mind right now. I wasn't even sure about everything I did have on my mind and I damned sure didn't know what I was going to do about anything.

I gave Yareela a kiss while I toyed absently with a big titty. She must have sensed that I was thinking about other things. She put her arms around my neck, lay her head on my shoulder and just hugged me gently while I drank the beer. When I finished she got up then I did and I headed for our bedroom. It was empty when I got there and I was tired so I undressed and got into bed. I was asleep before anyone joined me.

I felt better when I woke from my dreamless sleep. Surrounded by my mates, I lay there a while with my eyes open, looking up at myself and my sleeping partners in the canopy's mirror. With a giant bed full of beautiful mates there was no excuse for me to be blue. Things were a little complicated just now but what the hell. I had no right to expect even nearly as much as I had been given and even if I quit using some of the things I had I was still blessed beyond reason.

Thinking of the fastest and most expedient way to accomplish short-term goals had been my reason for wanting the video feeds back in operation but did I really want that. Finding Shabago the old fashioned way wouldn't be an overwhelming task and the fact of the matter was that I didn't have any pressing need to have him any time soon. Things might be even better if we never found him at all.

Living out in the wild during the winter was going to be quite a job for him. He had made it through one night but it wasn't certain that he would continue to make it. If there were others in on the plot that hadn't fled we would find out from the two we had captured but I doubted that there were. If I'd been in on something similar I would have left as fast as I could when I realized that it had gone to shit. Of course I would have known that it had no chance of succeeding in the first place.

I needed to take a piss and a shower so I started working my way over and under my mates toward the edge of the bed. When one of them stirred I whispered for them to go back to sleep and I hoped that they would rest as long as they wanted to.

I choked the piss out of dicky and then took a long hot shower. After drying off I returned to the bedroom to dress and found that it was now vacant except for Baatiea, Beetiea and Deimeta, they were all still sleeping.

When I peeked at Deimeta my blood boiled a little again. Her bruise seemed to cover nearly all her upper body and it had turned colors that were impressive. Shabago was lucky that he was far enough away so that we couldn't get to him quickly. If we found him before my anger eased a little he would never make it back to camp with all his parts.

Dressed, I walked out into the kitchen and smelled the coffee. All my mates were here and they made a point of coming over to give me a good morning kissing, each waiting patiently for their turn. I was touched by their gesture of support and affection and it was apparent that my mood had affected them. I decided to lighten up the tone of the morning.

"It's going to be a good day for us and probably a bad day for Shabago. I'd like for more of you to come with me today and I want to pack enough food and supplies to stay out two or three nights. I intend to catch him before we come back this time."

This perked them up quite a bit and while Dalia, Delia and Geera kept cooking most of the others scattered to start gathering things for the outing. Dieta, Ameliea, Merita, Maia and Roweea seemed particularly happy about the news and their first direction was toward the practice cave. No doubt they were headed to gather their weapons first.

I sat to drink coffee and wait for breakfast. The smells from the cooking already had my mouth watering and when Delia brought me a mug of coffee I pulled her into my lap for a more serious good morning greeting. She had her dress on but there was nothing in the way after I got my hand up under its skirt and I gave her delightful little pussy some manual attention, getting my fingers slippery in the process and getting a big rise out of dicky in the bargain. She shuddered in orgasm in a few minutes and then scampered to the bathroom giggling.

Only a little later, Geera came with my breakfast and when she'd set the plate on the table I pulled her into my lap too. I gave her a good kissing and managed to rustle her skirt up over her hips while I was at it. I couldn't decide whether to finger her right off the bat or play with her big titties for a few minutes.

"John, someone could come in and see me like this," she complained but I knew that it was getting her started.

"And what of it? I am your mate and I can play with you when I want too."

"But others might see me with my clothes pulled up like this," she moaned and hugged my neck tighter.

"Let them have a thrill then, looking at you is all they will ever get to do. I just hope for your sake that I don't get so aroused that I have to take you right here, bent over the table."

"Oh no John, not out here," she wailed but I could tell that even saying it had given her a big thrill.

I didn't fuck her but I did give her slippery tunnel a good exercising. When she shivered from her cum I let her up and as she started off to the bathroom in Delia's trail I gave her pretty ass a sound little smack.

"Ouch," she squeaked and then took off, smiling her widest.

I turned to my breakfast and was surprised that it hadn't gotten cold. I knew that Geera hadn't gone off that quickly. Suddenly it hit me that Ralph must have kept it warm somehow. That seemed odd to me in view of his thoughts about the video but I decided to enjoy my breakfast and ask him about it later.

Dalia had done her part to cheer me up too since my plate was piled high with scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, ham and toast. It was delicious as usual and though it might seem like a simple thing it did lift my spirits even higher. I'll admit that food and eating are high on the list of things that I enjoy though most people would never notice.

When my coffee ran low she was right there with a pot to refill it and I didn't see any need to let her off without some attention. I pulled her into my lap when she was done with the fill up, slipping a hand up under her short skirt right away.

"John, that feels so good but there is no one to watch the food that's still cooking," she complained but it did her no good at all since Delia came back from the bathroom just then.

"I'll watch the cooking mother, try to distract our wild man of a mate for a few minutes," Delia told her.

"Oh, the things I must endure to keep this beast from my innocent daughter," Dalia said, pulling her dress completely off and turning so that she was facing exactly away from me and leaning back to use me as a backrest.

I moved both hands up her body to take a titty in each of them, teasing her nipples with a finger and thumb for both. Dalia sighed and then began rocking her sweet ass over dicky. In only a few seconds she was giving me a first rate lap dance without the benefit of any music. I slid one hand down to tickle her clitty and she picked up the pressure and the tempo. Damned if I didn't blast off in my pants from the rhythmic rocking of her firm cheeks against my dick as I sent her over the edge with my diddling finger dipping into her wet well. No matter, I could shower again when I'd finished my breakfast.

Dalia headed for the head also when she caught her breath and I laughed when I looked down and saw the wet stain spreading out from where dicky was now laying limber. Shit, that had felt good.

When I turned back to my breakfast I was sure that Ralph or one of them was keeping it warm for me. Everything left on the plate was still hot and delicious so I concentrated on finishing it before I got my hands on any more of my mates. Luckily I was able to get done with my meal and head for the shower again before the other men came in. I would have felt a little sheepish if they'd seen me with that big wet stain in my lap.

After eating I went back to the bedroom, shed my clothes and headed in for another shower. Just my luck all my mates had finished and were gone so I had to wash by myself once more. I finished up and dried off again and put on clean clothes then went back to the kitchen for more coffee before getting started on the day.

Raalto, Racaato, Caato, Bigglieo, Daaggo, Colonto and most of their mates were eating when I got back to the table. I saw that Danlo's mates were also here and I asked where he was since I didn't see him.

"He devoured his breakfast in a flash and headed to the horse cave to get a sleigh ready for our trip this morning. He said to tell you that he planned on loading some travois poles also incase the going got too rough for the sleigh to follow." Geera told me.

That was good thinking on his part since if we did get into terrain that the sleigh couldn't navigate we could just leave it and come back for it later. I wasn't sure what we'd do if the going got too rough for the horses. I supposed we could make a camp and leave a few people to take care of them while the rest of us went on foot to try and corral Shabago. Surely he would be moving slowly after two nights out with no food other than what he could scare up as he went.

Mundo, Buloto and Saraato came in from the residence cave and after some hemming and hawing Mundo finally asked if they could go with us while we hunted Shabago. It seemed that they felt somehow partially responsible for him.

"I will be glad for you to come with us but you are no more at fault than any of us and not nearly as much to blame as I am. I should have been paying more attention to them myself and though it isn't common knowledge I did have some warning. Still it is possible that we may need to do some tracking where the horses can't travel and if we do you three will probably be in better shape to do it than any of us."

He thanked me and they left to pack their things and get ready to go. I was pleased that they had asked to join us since I felt that it showed where their loyalties lay.

When everyone was finished eating we headed for the horse cave. Danlo was already coming back our way with the sleigh and so we waited until he got to my cave's entrance and stopped.

"We'll go and saddle our horses and then come back here Danlo. Will you see that the supplies are loaded?"

"Yes, will many people be riding in the sleigh?" he asked.

"I'm sure you will have a few. I know that Mundo, Buloto and Saraato will be going and probably some of my mates that aren't planning on mounting. It seems that all or most of them intend to go."

"Well I have already packed two of the largest shelters and several of the newly cured bison skins. If we do have to stay out a night or two we should be well prepared," he said.

"I'm hoping that we won't need to but we probably will."

We went to the horse cave then and saddled our mounts. When we got back to the sleigh we tied them off to it and went inside to gather the rest of those that were going with us. Of my mates, only Xailieta and Eileiea were staying here. Xailieta had Baatiea and Beetiea to care for and Eileiea intended to make sure that Deimeta was tended.

Deimeta was more than a little bit disappointed that she wouldn't be coming along and she didn't hesitate to try convincing me that she was well enough to accompany us.

"Deimeta I'm sure that you are well enough to go but I want you to stay here. When we find Shabago he may try to fight us and there is no telling where the spears might be landing. Even if he doesn't fight I don't want you to see the things that we may do to him. I am very angry with Shabago and I'm not sure that he will be coming back to camp alive."

"Very well Daddy, I will stay home. Riding in the sleigh or on Red with you would probably make my ribs hurt anyway. I will miss you while you are away so please try to hurry back," she told me.

"We will be back as soon as we can. You try to rest and get well so that we can go and play with Darta and your sleigh when I'm home."

That put a new light on things for her and she went off to find Failiela. I had already asked Failiela to stay to make sure that Deimeta had some company and protection while we were gone.

Finally we all went out to leave. Most of those with horses mounted up while Mundo and his pals climbed into the sleigh. At the last moment I tied Red back to the rear of the sleigh and got in the back to talk with Mundo, Buloto and Saraato; I wanted to find out if they could tell me anything about him that I didn't know already.

They did know something I didn't. Shabago, Shatalto, Kartogo and Jarto had all been on the mammoth hunt with us. I probably should have known this but I hadn't been aware of them at the time. The most interesting part of this revelation was that Shabago had two sets of the new clothes that Argent had given us. This was a definite advantage that I didn't realize he possessed.

Shabago didn't have any more worries about the cold weather than we did. With only a minimum of cobbled together shelter he could spend his nights in relative comfort. I also learned that he had also been quick to get a good knife, a small hatchet and a short handled shovel while he had been with us. It wasn't remarkable that he had them of course, since anyone in camp was welcome to them; it was a little irksome that he had made sure to gather them in advance. In fact Mundo said he would be surprised if that was all that Shabago had obtained, courtesy of my generosity.

Those things would be helpful to Shabago but I was comforted knowing that he wouldn't have had a chance to acquire any firearms or learn to use them. This trip would be a lot more daunting if I thought that there was a chance he could be lying in ambush with a rifle.

Finally I asked Mundo and the others what they would do if they were Shabago. All of them agreed that his first move, climbing to the plateau, had been his best one and they also thought that he must have surely done it again or at least that he would be sure to take some other detour where the horses couldn't follow later. I hated to hear that but I wasn't surprised. Racaato had already told me to expect it.

When we got to the point where Shabago had made his first ascent the wolves had whined and acted like they wanted to go up as they had the day before. Of course they couldn't and they had seemed confused when we passed it by. Finally they came along and I saw that they picked up Shabago's scent again when we reached the spot he had come down to from above.

We stopped here and I got out of the sleigh to mount Red. Mundo, Buloto and Saraato wanted to get out too then and walk or trot with the wolves but I asked them to keep riding.

"He still has more than a day's lead on us from this point and I think that you will be better off riding and resting until we get closer," I suggested and finally they agreed.

Racaato had been leading all of us so far, except for Prince, King and Rover. After mounting, I moved up to ride with him and we started in the wolves wake. They followed Shabago's route all the way around the edge of the large open ground and then on up the river's valley. If it hadn't been for having the wolves we would have had to pay much more attention to the trail to make sure that Shabago didn't have another trick for us but Prince, King and Rover showed no indecision as they kept on, only stopping to sniff at this or that occasionally.

About an hour up river from the giant "hay meadow" we found the spot where Shabago had spent his first night out. He had been able to kill a small deer and I'm sure that he ate well. He'd built a fire to cook part of the deer and he cut off the best parts to take with him. He had skinned it entirely and he must have used the skin to bundle up the meat he'd taken with him.

Racaato told us he thought that Shabago had made two fires in the same spot; the first one after he'd killed the deer for cooking and then later he'd built another fire after he slept, probably to cook another meal before leaving. I didn't have the first clue about how he could know that by just looking at the ashes and I didn't even want to know. We poked around there for a while and when we pressed on this time Mundo and his friends stayed on the ground and took off after the wolves with Racaato and I next in line.

Another hour up the trail had Mundo stopping and asking me to call the wolves back. I had Maia whistle for them and then asked Mundo what the problem was.

"We must be very careful from here on. The long toothed cat is on his trail now too," he said.

"Show us," said Racaato then he and I dismounted.

Mundo led us off about twenty feet to the left of the path that Shabago had taken and when he pointed out the cat's prints there was no doubt about them. Chances seemed slim now that we would find Shabago alive but we remounted and started out again with Mundo, Buloto and Saraato in the lead while Merita and Maia kept Prince, King and Rover with them, behind Racaato and I.

Thirty minutes later we found the nearly fresh skin from the deer that Shabago had killed. Racaato looked around and said that Shabago must have dropped it when he discovered the cat on his trail, probably hoping that he could get away while smilodon finished off the meat. Racaato didn't seem to think that the cat would have wasted much time gulping down the gift and he doubted it would leave Shabago be out of gratitude.

Another hour on the trail proved Racaato correct. We came up to the remains of Shabago but thankfully the cat was already gone. There wasn't much left of Shabago. His spearcaster, and other tools were scattered around and the chewed over remains of his headless torso, along with a few gnawed up bones were there. His head was lying about thirty feet off from the rest of him. It seemed that the biggest portion of him had left inside the cat.

We gathered up the tools and weapons and most of his ripped up and tattered clothes and put them into the sleigh. It was about an hour after noon now and it would probably be dark, or nearly so, before we could get back home. We ate a quick mean and headed that way though. We would have been comfortable sleeping out tonight but the horses wouldn't have been so we headed back to save them a night out.

I was hoping that the cat had gone a different direction.
