God Damn that hurt, and waking up after the bypass surgery two days later hurt even worse. Far as I can tell there's not one advantage in a heart attack so you'd all best avoid them if you can. I can function for an hour or two a day but the pain medicine makes me so loopy I wouldn't trust myself to write anything. I've heard from others that I have probably ten more days to two weeks before I can get around without pissing and moaning about every move. People sometimes chastise me and often try to throw in innuendo about me not finishing stories. Is that really what you want? I have a couple I'm stalled on, one that I've been stalled on for a long time, but do you really want them finished? It isn't hard to do. I can throw on a few paragraphs, kill off the hero, and type "The End" at the bottom. If what you mean to say is "I'd rather you work on a different one" well sometimes I wish I could work on a different one too. Shit, we don't always get what we want, now do we? I'm writing what I can get out. If it isn't something you want to read, I can understand that. If I'm not working hard enough to suit you, then you aren't paying me enough to suit me. I wrote and posted to StoriesOnline.net for five years and received exactly one donation. It was a generous one. Believe me, that person's requests carry more weight than anybody's. I'd admit that I've been a bad boy and I'd promise not to do it again, except that it would be a lie. It isn't that I mind lying, I just try not to get carried away with it when there's no point. I should also point out that my recent hardware episode with the machine I do my writing on and use for email and newsgroup access caused me to have to import all my saved messages to a different machine. In Microsoft's wisdom they decided that when importing like this it wasn't necessary to keep up with whether a message had been responded to or not. How thoughtful. What that means in English is that I now have no way to tell whether I've responded to any messages I had saved, and that includes all of them. So if you sent me a message in the last week or so and thought I'd probably respond but I didn't, you should send it again and I probably will reply. I will be trying to keep the harem down, or maybe even non-existent. I still have to format and upload Red and Victor, My Mom's Fuzzy Heart, and the original NanoVirus. It was a hell of a lot bigger job than I thought it would be, but with the help of the good lord and a stout stick I'm nearly done. I just don't know whether I'm going to remove my work from StoriesOnline.net - I've decided to remove it and decided to leave it and back and forth until I'm tired of thinking about it. I know a lot of you think I'm just mad because it will keep me from having a top score. I have some fucking news for you; I don't have a top score NOW. My highest ranked story comes in at number 160, not exactly the top of the heap. My main complaint is that I don't liked to be involved in statistical manipulation. Everyone understands a vote and an average; nothing could be simpler. Some people complain about too many stories having high scores. What? You want MORE low scoring stories? Have a nice life. I'm not ashamed to say I put a lot of hard work into every hundredth of a point I have on my scores and whacking the shit out of them for the god of statistics doesn't ring one damned note on my chime.
