John and Argent by cmsix

Chapter 39

After coffee I took Georgo and Dotallto down to the horse cave to see Dotallto's new buckboard. It was exactly like Georgo's so there were no surprises but Dotallto was thrilled with it anyway. We looked it over for a while and then went back toward my cave. Georgo and Dotallto retired to their separate meditation chambers and I went to my cave to have a little talk with Frank. Frank was busy with my mates when I got there and so I went to the study room in the practice cave to see if Phil was free.

Racaato and the wranglers were still burning powder and Phil was free for the moment. I got an acknowledgement from an alien as soon as I sent a message. I requested sewing needles and thread, everything from heavy duty sewing awls with handles down to the tiniest needles and all sizes of thread and cord. I should have gotten the small needles and thread for my mates a long time ago but Daaggo's project had made me remember. He would have to be doing a lot of sewing to join the hides together and without modern day needles and thread it would be a bitch to make holes with stone awls, push the cord through them barehanded, and then do it all again for the next stitch. I even remembered to ask for some heavy duty shears and scissors to help with the task.

I went outside and spotted Daaggo and some of the others bringing posts. They were carrying them on their shoulders, two men to each post. I knew that they could do it faster by having one of the Clydesdales drag several trees in one bunch but that could wait for now. I asked Daaggo to come with me and took him to the horse cave to show him his new equipment.

After I showed him the sewing tools and materials he was delighted, especially with the shears and the heavy duty awls. He could see that these things would make the job much easier. I took him out to the horse pens then and caught one of the giant draft horses for him. We took it back into the horse cave and put enough harness on it so the horse could pull the felled trees and then we headed for the place they were cutting the poles.

When we got there it only took a little time to show the men how to use the horse to bunch the trees and then hook them up by the butts and skid them with the Clydesdale doing most of the work. He had no troubled pulling several of the small trees at once and I told the men that they might as well leave the limbs attached until they got the trees into camp. That way, after they limbed them, the parts they'd cut off could be used for fires or if big enough, for other parts of the project.

I left them at it and went back toward the camp. Things seemed to be working out very well all around. Cardiato's shenanigans were an irritation but nothing that we couldn't deal with. I knew that he thought he had a real advantage and since he came up with the idea he was probably proud of it and confident that it was insurmountable. It might have been if not for me and, of course, Argent. Even the bows and arrows would be more than the spearcasters could triumph over. There was no way they could give us a hard time with what they had available.

Even if they were more cunning and stealthy than we were, which was debatable, they didn't have a chance of sneaking up on us with the aliens overhead. Hell I was defending against savages carrying spears and I had better reconnaissance assets than spy satellites and teams of analysts.

I started wondering what all this was about again and I didn't have a bit more idea now than when I got here. Argent kept telling me to do things in my own best interest and I intended to, but it seemed that little by little I was depending on Argent and his people more every day. I shouldn't need their help defending my camp against Cardiato's. There were more than twice as many people in my camp than in his and using Argent as an eye in the sky seemed a little like overkill. I was going to keep it up until after the mating ceremony though. I wasn't going to keep men up all night scattered all over the place watching for spies, at least I wasn't until after my mating nights were over.

There was a good reason people of this time didn't like to be out at night. Dangerous animals were everywhere, and most of them could see much better in the dark than a human could. They were also better at moving about quietly in the blackness. They had to be since that was the way they survived. The predators that were really dangerous could be on you in darkness before you even knew what was going on. You could be hurt or killed quickly if you spent a lot of time outside after sunset. Some of the night work couldn't be helped though and I knew that we were going to have more of it tomorrow.

I looked up the valley and could see Raalto's bunch coming back for supper. The wagon was piled high with hay and many of them were walking along beside it. Raalto was one of them and when he came to me he stopped.

"Gathering hay is not that much fun John." He said, preaching to the choir.

"I knew that and I was happy that you volunteered to take the job."

"It isn't that bad and it must be done. I'm afraid that we will all be sore tomorrow though. It will make it hard to get going in the morning." He said.

"Take a day off to get over it then."

"I think that we had just as well keep it up. The soreness will relieve itself as we work, and we can always go more slowly until it is better. I am not sure how much hay we will need but I know it will be a lot and the first snow can not be far off." He said.

"I haven't asked Georgo what he thinks about the winter's approach yet. Maybe I should, as I would hate to be surprised. We will be in trouble with the horses if we do not have enough hay. If it does snow before we have enough, we may have to let them go up to the first opening and watch over them while they graze on some days when it isn't too bad."

"I hadn't thought of that but I guess it would be possible. Gathering enough hay will be easier than that if we have time though. We will need many men to go watch them if we have to let them graze in the open like that." He said.

"We won't do it unless they run out of hay altogether. We have a lot of standing grass back up in the two blind canyons that will help us feed them."

"Maybe we should ask Georgo if he has had any sign from the spirits about the winter's arrival." Raalto said.

"I will talk with him and see if he can meditate about it." I said, knowing that the spirits would be very informative this year.

Raalto left me and went to the horse cave to help with the unloading. Barago and his crew came by also with another load of shit but Barago only nodded at me as he went by and didn't get off the wagon to talk. I went into my cave and sat at the table where Dieta brought me a mug of coffee.

"Are you dying of hunger already my mate?" She asked when I smiled a thanks for the coffee.

"Not really, I just came in to boost my appetite by getting a few of the smells of the cooking and to find something to do with my hands." I told her while I took a sip of coffee with one hand and gave her legs and ass a few feels with the other.

Dieta bent lower and gave my neck a few sucking kisses and I let my hand stray between her legs, checking to make sure she still had some pussy for me. She did and I spent a little time warming it up. She backed away after a few seconds.

"I won't be able to help with supper if you keep that up. Tonight will be hard enough on me as it is. Ameliea has made me promise to hold her down tightly so that she won't be able to get away from you." Dieta hissed.

"She needn't worry because I will make sure of it myself if I must. My dick is more than anxious to meet Ameliea."

She giggled and left me, returning to the kitchen and walking up behind Ameliea who jumped and squeaked out when Dieta reached her, brushing her hand down to dislodge Dieta's that had just given her ass a pinch. When she turned around to see who had pinched her, Dieta pulled her close and gave her a good kiss and in only a few seconds Ameliea was returning it and doing a little ass pinching of her own. It was wonderful entertainment before supper.

Georgo came in then to sit beside me. Ladeliea, who was already in the kitchen, brought him some coffee. She stepped between Georgo and me to put the coffee down and when I noticed that Georgo was fondling one of her ass cheeks I moved a hand up to give the other a squeezing. Ladeliea didn't know which way to turn so she just backed out leaving Georgo and I to grin at each other like schoolboys.

"Are your soon to be mates cross about the delay Georgo?"

"I think that they were trying to get that way but I headed it off by telling them that I had spoken to Julieta and that she has agreed to join us as one of my mates. This sent them off with Ladeliea to giggle and talk amongst each other." Georgo told me.

"Well it is good that you were spared a going over about something you couldn't control. I would like to ask if you have had any inklings about the winter yet?"

"I've had no sign from the spirits but I will meditate later and try to get one. Often the spirits are not forthcoming about the weather." He told me.

"They are our best hope of knowledge about it though. I hope the snow does not come before we are finished gathering hay. I would also like to have another hunt before winter and there is the little trip that I want to take."

"Unless it is different this year you should have at least another moon before it gets very cold. If a snow does come earlier it will probably be a light one." He said.

I was sure that I could find out almost exactly what the weather would be like but I didn't intend to let anyone else know that. I would ask Argent to give Georgo a sign so that it would seem Georgo's skills in predicting weather had vastly improved.

Dotallto came in then and he and Georgo started talking about the buckboards, Dotallto wanting to hear everything Georgo would tell him about its use. I listened halfheartedly but really wasn't interested in what they were saying.

Soon enough everyone else straggled in and for once we all got our food more or less at the same time. My wranglers were still talking about their shooting practice and Raalto and Barago even conferred over their various jobs. Daaggo and his crew had really put their shoulders to the wheel after they got a horse to skid their timber into camp. Daaggo said that they now had plenty to build frameworks for all the cave's entrances and he was excited about using the new tools I had furnished for sewing the skins together.

Talk of the sewing tools got the interest of my mates and after the meal was over and the dishwashers were fed I had to show them their own stash of needles and thread. I wasn't much with sewing but I knew enough of the basics to show them how it worked and they had done plenty of their own type of sewing to see that the new things would make it much easier.

I finally left them at it, took a shower and got into bed hoping that they didn't intend to spend all night with their new toys. Being in the big bed alone seemed a little odd to me, but I didn't have to wait long before they put up their sewing kits, and after a little teasing and giggling among themselves they all headed toward the bed. I saw that Roweea had Ameliea by one arm and of course Dieta had the other.

When they got the struggling Ameliea near the bed they shuffled around a little getting her dress over her head and her moccasins off her feet, then they took turns holding on to her while they all undressed.

"Look what we have brought you John. We are tired of her standoffishness and have decided that tonight is the night she will give up what you want." Dieta announced.

"He wouldn't dare, he promised that he would not force himself on me." Ameliea said loudly.

"I have changed my mind though. I can't resist the temptation any longer. Bring her to me and be careful that she doesn't get away."

They pulled her to the bed and pushed her toward me, rushing to pile in behind her. Dieta kept hold of one arm and Roweea regained the one she'd lost, then they wasted no time in pinning her to the mattress on her back. Gema took one foot then and Maia took the other and they spread her out to show me what I was about to get into.

"You are awful, all of you. I thought we had become friends and now you hold me down for this brute." Ameliea whined.

"You will be glad about it soon enough." Geera told her.

I leaned over and took one of her splendid nipples in my mouth then, giving it a little suck and then a gentle bite. I couldn't keep my hands off her either and while I squeezed and pinched her other titty and nipple I let my free hand drift down into her bush and then below.

She was wet and getting wetter so I played with her lips and teased her clit some. When she was wet enough I pushed a finger up into her heat and pumped it. Her hips pushed her sex up to my hand for more while her mouth continued to piss and moan about it.

"I can see that there is no honor in your promises to a poor defenseless woman John. You are going to have me no matter what you promised aren't you?" She cried.

"Yes I am Ameliea, soon I will be fucking you until my heart is content and more. You will be wiggling and squirming and calling my name, then you will be begging me not to stop."

"Never, I will never beg you not to stop. I don't want you on me rutting but I can see I have no choice." She growled.

"I will give you a choice later, a choice of whether you want it like this, or from behind while you are on your hands and knees. In the morning I will give you a choice of getting it early, just after the sun rises or later after all the others have come in and can watch."

"You wouldn't. You wouldn't take me in the daylight with all the other men and women watching." She whined.

"I might but tonight I am going to take you right now since I can't wait any longer."

I climbed between her beautiful legs and over her tiny body. She wiggled and squirmed even more energetically but her fate was sealed when Dalia took hold of my boner and put the head to her entrance. I pushed into her slowly and gently and her wet heat welcomed me home. Her inner muscles played along my length as I pushed in gently but firmly.

"Oh spirits that is big in me. I could see that it was a big one but I had no idea it would open me so. It is delicious isn't it? Let me go so I can pull him in deeper." Ameliea said.

They released her then and her sham was over. Her legs went around my hips and her hands pulled me to her for a deep kiss as she set the pace with her wicked hips. They were banging against me in no time and I wondered just who was fucking whom.

"Harder, do it Harder John." She moaned.

I did it harder and was glad to, she was lively and agitated and was giving as good as she was getting. I put my mouth to one of her nipples and sucked for a taste.

"Yes nurse me, suck on my nipple and bite it, it feels so good. Suck it and pump harder and faster, I am nearly there already." She screamed.

And then she was there, bucking even harder and pulling me to her with both her arms and her legs. Her ass went into high gear and if I weren't so much heavier than her she would have probably bucked me off. She didn't but she got my nut and as she began screaming my name I started pumping cum into her. Not for the first or last time I wondered if I was putting it somewhere it was needed.

I was limp and winded in just another minute. Delia rolled me toward her and sucked my used dick into her mouth, carefully cleaning it and then sucking for stiffness. Dieta and Roweea couldn't decide who would get to tidy up Ameliea and so they took turns sucking and licking her pussy while she just lie panting for breath. Geera didn't want to be left out so she made sure that Ameliea's nipples got plenty of attention. I could tell that I had them all stirred up now and I didn't mind, even though it took me another two and a half hours to get them all fucked.

I woke before sunrise the next morning and was somehow able to get out of bed and dressed without waking any of my mates. I made my own coffee and was wishing that I had mentioned to Racaato that we should go hunting early this morning so we could have fresh meat for the ceremony. I was surprised but happy when he came in a few minutes later.

"I woke up early and was hoping for some coffee." Racaato told me as he came toward the pot.

"I'm glad you did. I think we should slip off and go for a quick hunt this morning. I want some fresh meat for the ceremony tomorrow night."

"That is a good idea. We can be gone before the rest are even awake." He said.

We got our coffee and then fetched our rifles and things and headed for the horse cave. It didn't take long to hitch a team to my wagon and we were rolling out of camp and toward the ramp in no time.

We were lucky since we saw game as soon as we got onto the plateau. There was a group of aurochs within a thousand yards of us. Some were up and grazing but a couple were still lying on the ground as if still sleeping. I wrapped the reins around a rail behind the seat and Racaato and I got down and started moving slowly toward a small rise about half way between the aurochs and us.

When we made the rise we got prone on top of it and looked through our scopes at the aurochs. There were eight in all but we didn't want that many. We decided on a couple of young males that were grazing. They weren't fully grown but they were still large. Racaato and I decided who would shoot which one and on my signal we fired.

It startled them and those on the ground got up but they couldn't tell what the noise had been and though plainly nervous they couldn't decide to run or even which way they should run. Racaato and I solved their problem by standing and waving our arms. The lives one started off, not running but not grazing peacefully either.

Racaato went for the wagon while I walked toward our kills. When he had the wagon in place we realized that the tower wasn't on it. Of course it was apparent but we hadn't thought about it until we needed it. We let the new tailgate down and I played out the winch line, which we attached to one of the aurochs. With the winch pulling and Racaato and I lifting it wasn't too much of a job to pull it into the back. We repeated the procedure with the other one, closed the tailgate and were on our way. It wasn't a bad job but you can bet that I would be attaching the tower before using the wagon to fetch game the next time.

"The rifles are excellent John, I can remember many times stalking aurochs all day to get one and often not even getting that one. We have come out and killed two before we even had our breakfast." Racaato said, all smiles.

"They do make it much easier and having the wagon to take them home is a big help too."

"It is, having the wagon and being able to bring the carcass back to camp to gut, skin, clean up and cut up makes it so much easier." He said.

We got back to camp just as Bigglieo was coming out to start looking for us, he told me that my mates had sent him to fetch me back for breakfast. He was amazed that Racaato and I had already been hunting and were back with game.

"We had to have some fresh meat for tomorrow night, I'm just hoping that we don't have to end up with more fresh dead tonight." I said.

"If they come tonight and end up dead they will have no one to blame but themselves and Cardiato." Bigglieo said.

"That is the truth, at least their mates will have a good home if they are killed." Racaato said.

"Don't mention that too much around Jonoco and Nadlo. They are a little nervous about gaining a mate that way."

"I won't but it will do them more good than they will know unless they try it. I don't mean killing the men, I just meant that it can be very pleasant to have more than one mate." Racaato said.

"Who are you telling?" I asked and we all laughed.

We left the wagon where it was and went in for breakfast. Everyone was seated already except the three of us. Bigglieo didn't even have his ass in a chair before he announced where we'd been this morning.

"They got two big young aurochs too, they will be tender and a good meal at the ceremony." Bigglieo said.

"That is good then, since you won't be able to drink any bruga you can entertain yourself with eating too much aurochs, try to leave a little for the rest of us." Barago teased him, and everyone laughed.

"It won't be so bad Barago and I doubt that I will be able to eat more than one of the aurochs, that will leave one for the rest of you." Bigglieo shot back.

Talk died down then since the breakfast plates started appearing. I was hungry, probably because I was accustomed to eating before I got out and about in the mornings. Finally after two plates for me I called it quits and just sat with my coffee while some of the more polite eaters finished their meals.

After breakfast Raalto went out to gather his crew for the hay cutting duty and Barago went to get the shit hauling started. Daaggo told me that he would get the aurochs unloaded and put a few men to work skinning, and cleaning them so Barago could use the wagon.

I went into the practice cave with Racaato, Danlo, Nadlo and Jonoco and before they started practicing I went over my plan with them. Racaato liked the idea of the lights but was afraid they wouldn't be bright enough if the spies came up before sunset. I pointed out that those who were coming had better hope they were but I got another idea. I left them to practice and went back into my cave.

I found Merita and Maia and asked them if they thought that they could control Prince, King and Rover enough to help with the spies tonight. Of course they were sure they could and promised to have the wolves on their best behavior. They were probably right, the wolves would know that we were hunting something and they weren't like dogs anyway. They weren't going to start barking. They were much more likely to start biting with no warning.

I did think that the wolves could be counted on for a different dog like behavior though, if the spies took off running they would be sorry about it soon. Spearcasters were a wonderful weapon but they were almost impossible to use on anything that was approaching from behind and after the first few steps the wolves would be too close to allow time for turning and casting a spear. I was almost sure that if the light blinded them for even an instant Prince, King and Rover would have them on the ground at once.

I went back to the practice cave then and told Racaato of the new plan. He was more enthusiastic about this and more nearly sure of the outcome. I left them to their practicing then and went to the horse cave to see if Argent had sent the lights.

The lights were there and once more Argent and his people had outdone themselves. I tried one against the wall in the cave and could tell at once there was no way anyone would be able to see for minutes after getting a dose of it, even in broad daylight. It was so bright that it seemed I could feel heat from the beam. I had to take it to show Racaato and after I had we quit worrying about whether our plan would work, there was no doubt.

I did a little shooting of my own until lunch and after we ate I told the others, who were also taking a lunch break from their chores, our plans for tonight's spies. Just for a feel of what the other side might be thinking I sent for Mundo and when we explained it to him he assured us that we would have no worries.

"They will already be frightened just as I was. When the light blinds them they will be terrified and if you do not speak before the wolves hit them they will have no idea what has them and will probably be screaming and begging for their lives. If it had happened to me that way I'm sure that I would have messed in my clothes." Mundo told us.

I thanked him and sent him on his way then thought better of it and sent for him again.

"Mundo do you think that you could convince them that they would be better off here than going back to Cardiato?" I asked him.

"Anyone could convince them of that and if that is an option for them I'm sure that they will be glad to stay here, especially if there is a chance that they will be able to retrieve their mates and possessions. In fact food is so much in plenty here that they will probably not care about their possessions." He said.

"Good, I would like for you to come with us tonight then."

"I will be glad to help you in any way that I can." He promised.

I let him go for real this time and when the others left to resume their chores I spent the rest of the afternoon going over things in my head. About two hours before sunset I went back to Phil and asked for Argent. He answered right away and when I asked if spies were coming he told me that two mated men were already on their way and that they should reach the plateau about two hours after sunset.

I asked him then if he could clue Georgo in on when the first snow would be likely during his next meditation.

"I nearly told him today but wanted to make sure that you wanted him to have the information. I will give him a sign the next time he meditates." He said and I signed off.

The work crews knocked off around two hours before sunset at my suggestion. Raalto would be with us tonight and Barago said he wanted to go along too. When Dieta, Roweea and Ameliea discovered that Maia and Merita were coming to handle Prince, King and Rover they lobbied for and obtained an invitation. Jonoco and Nadlo were noticeably nervous but Danlo seemed calm and collected. Right as we were leaving, Bigglieo and Galto couldn't stand it and decided to join us. Everyone but me was assuming that spies were coming from educated guesswork but I knew for a fact that they would be there.

When we had parked the wagon in the trees Maia and Merita let Prince, King and Rover get down and explore a little but they kept them fairly close. Racaato, Raalto and I crept up to the plateau's edge on our bellies even though I knew it wasn't necessary. We stayed there waiting and watching with binoculars and after sunset with the night vision and FLIR goggles. Our wait didn't go unrewarded since the spies showed up right on time.

We crawled backwards away from the edge and then went to the others and set up our trap. Raalto, Racaato and I set up right in the trail they had been using but about two hundred yards back from the edge. Racaato had one spotlight and I had the other. Merita, Maia, Dieta, Roweea and Ameliea were right near us with Maia and Merita supervising the wolves.

I debated about putting Bigglieo, Barago and the others spread widely along the edge to cut off the escape route back toward the spy's camp but decided against it. There was too great a chance for an accident in case shots had to be fired and I didn't really think that the spies could escape the wolves. Nadlo, Jonoco and Danlo were off to the left of us and were ready incase one or both spies needed to be shot. I did warn them to wait for a signal from me before firing though.

When they finally gained the plateau I could tell that all this wasn't really necessary. They had no doubt been walking for hours and were still running Cardiato down for this foolishness as they called it. I let them get within fifty feet of us before signaling Racaato. The spies yelped in surprise at the blinding light and I felt a wolf rush past me just as Racaato and I turned the lights off. I opened my eyes in time to see Prince leap right into the chest of the one to our right, then King and Rover bailed into the other one not a second later.

The spies were flat on their backs with snarling wolves grabbing at them before they even knew that they were being attacked. We rushed up to them quickly and when Maia and Merita called the wolves back I spoke to them.

"Stay very still right where you are. If you move I will release the wolves and let them finish you."

Neither of them replied so I asked if they understood.

"We will not move. What do you want of us?" One asked.

"We want you to tell us why men from your camp keep coming to spy on us?"

"Cardiato sends us, he forces us to come. No one in our camp wants to do this but he is determined. He will have a much harder time after you kill us and we don't come back though." He said.

I signaled Mundo then and let him speak to them.

"They will not kill you if you cooperate. They didn't kill me. You will have to tell them everything they want to know though." Mundo said.

"Is that you Mundo?" The other man asked.

"It is, I was not foolish like Gougo and they did not kill me. I am joining their camp now and if you are honorable perhaps they will let you join also." Mundo told them.

"But what of your mate Mundo?"

"There is to be a mating ceremony here tomorrow night. After that John will be going to speak to Cardiato about these raids. I will bring my mate back then." Mundo said.

"What if Cardiato won't let her leave?" The first one that had spoken asked.

"Where is Jakado's mate now?" Ameliea broke in to say.

"We will tell you everything we know and beg you to let us join you."
