"He Doesn't (Love Her Like I Do)"
by Uther Pendragon
(an569889@anon.penet.fi). This story is written from a most unusual
perspective - from the viewpoint of a dog who belongs to a young
girl
going through adolescence. We see most of the sexual activity
only
indirectly - we have to surmise it through the mind of the dog,
who draws
most of his conclusions by looking and sniffing. The girl cries
a lot,
has different smells on her fingers and in her crotch, and occasionally
rubs bouillon into her body for Wiggles to lick out while she
moans
gently. It must have been a challenging task to write an entire
story
from this perspective; but the author carries it off beautifully.
I truly
enjoyed this story.

My Comments:
I imagine that any a.s.s. story which includes "girl" and "dog" as keywords would set alarm bells ringing in some people's heads! So I hasten to point out that it is not that kind of story. Rather, it is one of the best "emerging sexuality" stories I have ever seen.
He doesn't love her like I do is a prime example of just how inventive erotica can be. Indeed, the author considers this story to be unlike anything else on the newsgroup (a.s.s.d, 1/15/98). A young girl, Theresa, adopts a dog from the pound and names him "Wiggles", after the movements he makes when he sees her. The story itself is told by Wiggles from a first person perspective. The dog's gift of speech does not extend to other human abilities, and in every other respect Wiggles is just an ordinary dog. However, one special canine ability - the sense of smell - is exploited to the full in this story.
Theresa progresses through adolescence, and Wiggles is consequently provided with a mass of new smells emanating from her. He doesn't know what they mean, of course, and a great deal of the charm of this story is involved in surmising Theresa's activities from his naive descriptions. Theresa shares a very close relationship with her dog, who acts as her protector and confidant. He also licks her in the right places when prompted, but that's as far as their relationship goes. Indeed, there is actually not much specifically "erotic" writing in the story. I should add that the final lines of He doesn't form one of the best conclusions to a story I have ever read.
This is a beautiful, poignant story which succeeds completely in adapting the genre of erotica to this most original setting.
