"That's a dreadful report card, son.  Get your trousers down!  Bend over!  You need a lesson.  This belt I'm holding was originally yours.  You discarded it; gave it to me.  It's a hand-me-up.  Learn your word for today."

After six painful thwacks the boy learned.

I enjoy the idea of a boy getting a lickin' from his father; however, the reference to a «hand-me-up» belt confuses me.  Also, what word did the boy learn that day?

I liked the premise of this saga, but needed a little more (dialogue perhaps) in order to get a really full picture of the scene.  I liked the use of the term «hand-me-up» very much, and might just discard such an item in an obvious place here at home <grin!>  :)!  Please keep writing!
