Rituals

He thinks it is silly.  But smudging the new home is necessary to purify it.  As he says, "There is nothing more ludicrous than someone else's heart felt beliefs."  Right!  Is that why he promised me a dozen cracks with the leather brush in every room to christen the place?

I loved this a very funny banter! and as a witch who does smudge for real her homes I had to giggle while reading this as my husband has looked at me rather silly like while I do my protection and cleansing rituals, while whenever we have guests leave the house after an extended stay he says that he needs to christen each room of the house all over again

OK, I don't know what smudging is.  There I said it.  I do know what cracks with a leather brush are.  I think this mini-saga is pretty humorous in the very least.  I get the idea of what the author is trying to convey.  Originality is certainly there to an extent.  And so I believe that this is pretty fair work.  My condolences to A.

It's short, sweet, and funny.

I like the clash of different beliefs upon each other.  The smudging ritual reminds me of Hindu/Sikh rituals that people do when buying a new house or a new car.  I'm glad that he matches her rituals with his own because this to me indicates a level of acceptance that mere words might not convey.  Very nice job.  Thank you.
