Gone with the Warpdrive

"India? You mean that you have lived in India?"  Commander Riker asked skeptically.

"That's her name -- India," Deanna Troi explained. "Didn't you read the novel, Will?"

"I don't remember every minor character," he countered defensively, "But there were none from India."

"Secondary character, but definitely deserving of a sound spanking."  The counselor grinned, hefting her sturdy hairbrush.  "Isn't that so, India?"

"Miss Wilkes," the plain-looking woman said stiffly.

She was attired in the aristocratic finery of the antebellum American South, as were the other just-materialized holographic characters -- a fiery-looking, green-eyed brunette, a swarthy, piratically-smiling man and a blond-haired, handsome aristocrat.

Riker grinned at the pretty belle.  "Miss Scarlett, I presume?"

"You ill-bred boor, get away from me," she replied sharply.

He chuckled.  "Frankly, my dear, I'm going to smack you good -- bare hand to bare bottom."

"Something I should have done," the dark-haired holocharacter noted cynically.

Lieutenant Worf, grasping a horsewhip, sneered contemptuously. "You are a crude opportunist, totally without personal honor.  I intend to stripe your backside thoroughly, much worse discipline than your lady friend will receive."  He motioned toward a strap-equipped punishment bench.

Rhett Butler regarded the Klingon's face.  "I've heard of having one's personal demons, but I never took it literally -- until now."

"Your choice, Beverly?"  Deanna indicated the fourth holographic personage.

Doctor Crusher nodded, waving the tawse she held.  "Your spankee's brother, Ashley -- an honorable man, but basically a useless one."

"He becomes a courageous warrior," Worf interjected, "That hardly makes him useless."

"Battlefield bravery isn't everything," Riker rejoined.

Ashley looked bemused. "You people seem to know me well."  His gaze met Worf's.  "Are you indeed an avenger from Hell?"

"Perhaps," the Klingon replied, "But only to Mister Butler."

"You need to worry about me," Beverly informed the blond man, "I'll be strapping your naked buttcheeks."

"So let's get started," the counselor announced.  "Holodeck time is limited."

"Obedience compulsions have been programmed into each character," Riker noted.

Immediately the chastisements got underway....

The two wailing holographic women were being spanked over the laps of their respective seated disciplinarians, both belles with dresses and petticoats lifted and bloomers around their knees -- Riker was smacking his open palm against Scarlett's plush bare bumcheeks while India's previously-pale buns were reddening from the pistol-shot cracks of Deanna's hairbrush swats.

The two teeth-clenching male holocharacters, both bent over and bound tightly across punishment benchs, were nude from their waists down and were being lashed vigorously upon their muscular posteriors -- Rhett by Worf's ferociously-snapping whip and Ashley by hotly-leathering licks from Beverly's three-fingered tawse.

"Computer, end program!"  The voice was the real Counselor Troi's.

Abruptly, the holodeck's literary characters and furniture disappeared -- as did the Starfleet officers.

"It was just getting interesting," protested Lieutenant Barclay.

"You recall our understanding about not using ship's personnel in your holoprograms, Reg," Deanna chided, "And the agreed-upon penalty."

"Yes, ma'am," he conceded.

"Let's retire to my quarters," the counselor stated.  "You'll get to experience the reality rather than the fantasy -- my real hairbrush interacting with your actual bare bottom."

She smiled in anticipation. "Up close and personal...."

The End

I should have like this better (or rated it higher, anyway), if it had been entered as FanFiction, rather than as in the first/last line category.  The ST The Next Generation characters are well used, and the spanking images are well done.  But the line itself seems a bit forced, although recalling the name of a minor character in a major work is a nice touch.

Rather than a first/last-line story (which, to be honest, strains a little here), this feels like an intersection of two separate fan-fiction worlds, and in that respect it works brilliantly.  And it's not just a Star Trek story; it uses the conventions and devices of that world to create a fun, twisty story that works in its own right.

Imaginative and original, this is a very entertaining and enjoyable piece.

This story cleverly uses the holographic invention from Star Trek, and was written by a true fan.  I do think that the dialogue rang a little dry and not naturalistic to the characters.  I also think that using so many characters at once didn't allow the author to expand on any one in particular.  An interesting premise, using well know fictional characters.  (We all know that Scarlett deserved a spanking.)  The author gives us a nice transition from the holodeck spankings to the real one.  The end was nice and the author did a good job using the correct line as intended.
