A Glitch in Time
By
The Crimson Kid <CrimsnKid6@aol.com>
Petrov Rachminov was planning on marginally altering one insignificant event, so he wasn't concerned about disrupting the timeline. All he wanted was the option to spank his beloved wife with implements rather than only his palm, and his plan appeared foolproof.
It had been during the freak psychostorm of 2554 that he had abruptly ended his shower and entered his bedroom to find his naked 19-year-old girlfriend pleasuring herself with a stimubrator. It had occurred during the hour-long psychostorm, so both of their emotions--his hurt anger, her guilt--had intensified tenfold. He'd pulled Elenne across his lap and handspanked her bare derriere for twenty minutes. He would have used a hairbrush or other spanking implement, but none had been readily available--a situation he intended to correct.
Because people became ultrasuggestible during a psychostorm, the lovers had formed a still-standing top/bottom punishment relationship. Petrov didn't want to change that, he just wanted to include chastising instruments--something Elenne never allowed, feeling that the handspanks stung plenty enough.
If he'd used implements during the psychostorm it would have 'imprinted' permanently on their relationship, Petrov knew. It had been difficult obtaining the restricted time-travel technology, but he'd managed enough for one brief trip.
His 2579 body remained unconscious as his awareness traveled back twenty-five years, occupying his 20-year-old body. He'd given himself several hours to obtain his objectives--wooden flat-backed hairbrush, leather strap and lexan paddle--before the critical moment occurred, and they were availably placed on his bedstand.
Stripping to shower, Petrov felt the psychostorm's emotion-intensifying effects. Elenne, in the kitchen programming the multicooker, would enter the bedroom shortly. Overcome by sudden sexual arousal, she would undress and retrieve the stimubrator from her overnight case. In a psychostorm- magnified burst of passion, he would shorten his shower and find her reaching orgasm without his intended involvement. Feeling angrily betrayed, he would put his paramour across his lap for a sound bare-bottom spanking... Except THIS time the punitive instruments would be available and he'd employ them, "imprinting' their application on Elenne's psyche.
Everything seemed set, but the psychostorm produced massively-heightened anxiety in Petrov. Before entering the shower, he unnecessarily returned to check that the stimubrator was in the overnight case. Knowing Elenne's hypersensitivity to invasions of her privacy, he became flustered; it took him two minutes to locate the device.
"What the hell are you doing?" Elenne's voice thundered, her eyes flashed hotly. "How dare you search my case?"
"Oh, honey..." Petrov stood, backing away nervously; his thighs nudged the bedstand, knocking the spanking implements--hairbrush, strap, paddle-- onto the floor. She stared at them, eyes widening.
Realizing his failure, Petrov mentally broke the cross-temporal connection. As his consciousness re-entered his body in 2579, he ruefully resigned himself to administering marital discipline via handspanking only.
"Time-traveling?" Elenna's middle-aged voice demanded sternly. "That's totally irresponsible, Petrov!" She towered over him, gripping the lexan paddle, then sat down on the bed. "Bare your misbehaving bottom and get across my lap."
Petrov immediately obeyed, as he had for the past twenty-five years...

This is an interesting sci-fi type story. I like the concept of the imprinting as well as implements (although why anyone would want a lexan paddle I will never know). This story is full of descriptions and character exposition. I loved the twist at the end. Great read...

I have to state that I am just not a fan of science fiction. Really. BUT this one was wonderful I thought. Incredibly creative and innovative. CK did a great job. Sure took me by surprise.

This was descriptive and well-written. I enjoyed the way the story turned out. Poor Petrov, <g> but it's always interesting to think about the other ways that events could have occurred.

The futuristic setting of this story is effective, and the lead-in works, but the twist is what makes it special. A Glitch in Time is clever and satisfying, and definitely made me smile.
