This is a fun story, and you chose a concept that works very well in the amount of space available. I'd like to see the illustrations that go with the story <G>.

Now why didn't they make Dick and Jane stories like this when we were kids? Spot could've fetched the hairbrush for them. Of course, I think it'd be only fair for us to see Dick have the tables turned! I'm sure Jane secretly thought he was awfully bossy and high-handed.

What a pleasant use for the 50-word format. A book for very young children uses short simple sentences, No embellishment. Just the facts, Ma'am.

I'm actually old enough to have used the original Dick and Jane books in first grade. Boring stereotypical family just after WW-II. Yecch. This version is much more fun. But then it isn't quite for children, is it?

Schoolbooks that portray consensual adult spanking as a natural part of normal family life are of course a good thing :) This particular example will no doubt appeal most to those with memories of actually using the classic "Dick and Jane" reading primers.
