Excerpts from Infernal Bliss

"Attention Ladies, Attention!" The Director screamed over the commotion. The sounds of sobbing new recruits began to subside.
"Let me begin by confirming your fears. You have indeed been kidnapped". The director's words hit like a bolt of lighting as a new wave of cries and screams echoed through the large hall.
The director irritably tried to restore order again. "Ladies, enough all ready, we've got a lot of work to do. So settle down and shut-up."
Now with the Great Hall quieted down, the director continued his speech. '"First of all let me welcome you to Infernal Bliss, or otherwise known as, the place where heaven and hell meet. You have been brought here from all over the country for the simplest intention. To serve men. There is no way for you to be rescued and there is no escape, you are here literally for the rest of your lives."
Again loud cries poured out of the mouths of the frightened girls. The Director motioned to the guards surrounding the hall with the flip of his wrist. Swiftly, the men each grabbed one of the hysterical females and dragged them to the front of the room.
"Perhaps I wasn't clear enough before." The director leered down at the remaining body of women. "Maybe now you will all pay closer attention to what I have to say or end up here."
The director signalled again. Each of the chosen was quickly bent over a long wooden bar and stripped from the waist down.
"Commence Discipline!" Roared the director, quite delighted at the turn of events. The men carried out the order by beating each girl with a thick leather strap. The remaining girls held each other for comfort.
"Now! Who's next?" Demanded the director. The sight of well-punished females with dark red bruises was enough for the cries to subsided, only the occasional sniffle remained.
"As I said ladies, from now on you will live to serve the every wish, whim, and desire of the men here at Bliss. You are all, in essence, slaves. That's the bad news." Without a twinge of guilt the director continued on.
"But, from now on, you will live on a beautiful island. All of your needs will be taking care of. No more worries about your job or paying bills. No more traffic or paying taxes. You are in a place where the rest of the world can't hurt you. The sooner you accept this, the easier it will be for you to adjust to your new life." The director smiled and waved his hand.
The chastised girls were then released back to their seats."Now, we will have no more interruptions, or you will all find yourselves over the punishment bar." The director warned.

There's an essence of pure, gleeful fantasy here that's very powerful. That sense is carried wonderfully through the story by the dry, worldly voice of the Director. The fantasy doesn't quite turn into a fully-completed story, though. Perhaps what's missing is some sense of why this is happening, and who these people are - though of course the anonymity is also a strength. Fantasy figures don't need to be well-rounded. Perhaps providing the story with a clearer point of view might have worked too. One of the kidnapped girls, perhaps, or even the Director himself. There's obvious a story behind *his* life.

This was a strange one. Its called 'excerpts' and it does say 'to be continued' so it seems the author is writing a trailer for a larger 'movie'. It read a little like that with no start point (we were already there) and no end just the rather cruel warm up of the poor girls. The writing style was OK but it just felt like being dropped into the middle of a plot.

Sexual slavery in an island paradise free from all everyday cares and worries - a pleasant fantasy, reminiscent of "Exit to Eden", except that this version is non-consensual. That bullying director, who roars, screams, and leers, is a nasty piece of work, though, and my dislike for that particular character made an otherwise nice story slightly edgy for me.

This was a very interesting idea, and a good story as far as it goes. I'd love to read more.
Unfortunately it doesn't really stand alone, for me at least. Apologies to the writer.
