Who Was Spanked First?

"Excuse me, but my magazine is doing an article on unusual jobs, and I understand that you've got a real doozy. Could you please tell me about it?"
"Well, I'm a rock and roll disciplinarian, so I guess that's pretty unusual."
"A rock and roll disciplinarian?"
"That's right. You see, sometimes musicians have a hard time keeping up with all their commitments, so I help out by disciplining them whenever it becomes necessary."
"I see. And when you say you discipline them...?"
"I mean good, old-fashioned, corporal punishment."
"In other words, you spank them."
"Exactly."
"That certainly is unusual. If you don't mind my asking, whom have you spanked recently?"
"Well I had a very busy day yesterday. I spanked three entire bands."
"Three bands, wow! Hold on, let me get my pencil out. Okay, now which bands did you spank?"
"Well Who was first..."
"Yes, that's what I'm trying to find out. Who was spanked first?"
"That's what I just said."
"So are you going to tell me then?"
"Who."
"The first band."
"Who."
"The band you spanked before any of the others."
"WHO WAS SPANKED FIRST!"
"That's what I'm asking you: Who got it first?"
"Yes."
"Yes?"
"Yes."
"Okay, so Yes was spanked first."
"No! Yes wasn't spanked first."
"Then who was?"
"Yes."
"Who?"
"Yes."
"That's what I just said: It was Yes."
"No it wasn't."
"So it was who then?"
"Yes."
"Yes?"
"Yes."
"Yes went first?"
"No, Who went first."
<sigh> "I can see we're not getting anywhere here, so why don't we come back to this one. Which band did you spank second?"
"Guess Who."
"You're not going to tell me?"
"I just told you: Guess Who."
"I don't know. Hootie and the Blowfish?"
"Now you're just being silly!"
"Well then who was spanked second?"
"Who was spanked first!"
"How did we get back to the first band?"
"You brought them up."
"No I didn't. I just asked who was spanked second."
"And I told you, Who was first."
"Yes."
"That's right."
<sigh> "All right, let's just go on. Will you tell me which band you spanked third?"
"Yes."
"Yes you'll tell me?"
"I just told you."
"Well who did you say was spanked third?"
"No, who was spanked first!"
"Yes."
"Yes."
"And the third band?"
"Yes! The third band I spanked was Yes."
"Oh, now I get it. 'Yes' was the name of third band."
"That's right."
"But wait a minute. If Yes was third, who was first?"
"Now you've got it."
"I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" <sigh> "I give up. You've got me completely confused. Why don't YOU take the pencil, and just write down all the bands you spanked yesterday."
"Me?"
"Yes you. Just write them all down, and..."
"Don't be ridiculous. If I could write, would I have had to steal this routine?"

A cute variation on an old routine. Someone should definitely be spanked for this. Anyone? No, Someone.

The premise is hilarious.. This is a funny story. The author has written snappy dialogue that made the story a quick read. The ending line is great. This is a fun light hearted story.
