The Dorking Padres Club

By

Valerie Meilong <VMeilong1@excite.com>

As many of you know, Friday September 13, 2002, is the 500th anniversary of The Dorking Padres Club, a club devoted to the enjoyment of spanking. A special function has been arranged in Boston, Mass., in the Great Ballroom of the Grand Sheraton Hotel.

The club goes back to 1502, when, in the town of Boston, England, in the County of Lincolnshire, Mrs. Wainwright found a boy in the bed of her fourteen-year-old daughter Gwendolyn, the third boy that week. Convinced her daughter was a sex-maniac, she took her to the local Mad-doctor. He, a Doctor Dorking, announced he could affect a cure, and Mrs. Wainwright was asked to bend the girl over his desk. Her skirts and petticoats were lifted, and Dorking placed one hand on each of the cheeks of her naked bottom. (Underclothes were not worn in those days, apart from a loincloth during certain days of the month.) "Um," he incantated hesitatingly, "Um, manni padre bum," translatable as, "Oh God the Father, what a glorious bottom." He then spanked the girl soundly, and told Mrs. Wainwright, to return with the girl next Friday.

The girl was taken home, put to bed, and Mrs. Wainwright retired to her own cot to pleasure herself.

At ten o'clock, Gwendolyn sneaked out to her waiting clients. She'd been making pin money at school since she was twelve, using the marketing slogan, "Muck About for a Mickle." She did so well at this that when she was thirteen she increased her price, and it became "A Grope for a Groat." Business thrived. Now it was "A Penny for a Poke."

The spanking had aroused her, and she gave particularly good value for money that Friday.

The treatment was repeated, and again Gwendolyn's Friday's performance was exceptional. The word spread. Fridays became "Tuppence a Tumble."

Other girls soon realized the connection between Dr. Dorking's treatment and Gwendolyn's Friday night above-average performance, and the doctor found himself inundated with female clients. His palm wilted under the strain, and he developed arthritis in his right hand. He took on young partners, but still carried out the incantations. Business thrived. Soon he had seventeen associates.

In April, he opened a surgery in Lincoln, the County Town, then another in Birmingham in June. Dorking knew a money-spinner when he saw one, and in September Friday 13th, 1502, he founded his first Spanking Club, The Dorking Padres Club, a discreet name, bearing only a small reference to the original incantation. Soon there were Clubs all over England.

Over a hundred years later, the Club spread to the USA, borne probably by the Pilgrim Fathers. It was rumored that John Alden and Myles Standish were members.

Admission tickets for the Great Anniversary are 500 dollars for viewers, and 250 for active participants. There will be a finger-food buffet, and the price includes a bottle of Zinfadel per couple, or a six-pack of Budweiser.

Any interested non-members should e-mail me to reserve a place. But hurry. Availability is limited.

Surely one of the funniest stories this year, this saucy little tale full of unexpected hilarity at every turn was a delight to read.  It is also not often that one finds an SSS story that spans 500 years of history.  In view of the non-serious nature of the story, it would probably be excessively pedantic of me to mention some minor technical problems - such as the fact that a groat (four pence) is more than a penny, and that September 13th 1502 was a Tuesday, not a Friday.

Archivist's note: Although at first glance it appears that 500 years with 123 leap years (none in 1800 and 1900) would shift the calendar 623 days (89 weeks) and leave the day of the week unchanged it is not so because of the change from the Julian to Gregorian calendar (September, 1752 in the UK) which jumped 12 days. <sigh>

This was a good story to build a fantasy around.  An historical view on how a spanking club was formed 500 years ago that exists and thrives today. "The dorking padres" very good name and the club sounds real, like a prominent mens club of today.  The description of the young girl and her marketing ploys were great. I laughed out loud at her phrases.
