"A Moment of Daydreams" by Mildred Whittemore (sexy dream
sequence). Owl: 10, 10, 9
"A Moment of Daydreams" by Milford Whittemore (milfordw@worcester.net). Guest review by Watchful Owl. A single word springs to mind when one reads this story: short. I've read a few of the "snapshot" series of stories, and this is barely more than that, taking up about three electronic pages. The plot: a man sees an attractive girl from across the room and lapses into a graphic dream sequence. Yes, I can identify with this (grin) but I felt that the story's length detracted from its enjoyment. Thinking it over, though, I suppose the length is appropriate. Your daydreams never last long, and it does convey that imagery very well. Besides, it's a refreshing change from the usual "first woman mentioned is marked for sexual activity" stuff we usually come across. Athena (technical quality): 10 Venus (plot & character): 10 (for the story's length, he does a good job in giving us an accurate picture of the characters) Watchful Owl (appeal to reviewer): 9 (it was just too darn short :)) |
