"The Beach1" by Jacques du Bois (sejdb@altern.org). Guest review by Watchful Owl. Lesbian sex near the beach. That almost sums it up, but not quite. The scene opens on a lonely woman, remembering her husband in many flowery metaphors. (Not profane, but flowery: "His empty promises stretched like the sea.") As she sits, gazing out at the ocean, a woman appears to seduce her. After token resistance, they do the deed and her new lover must leave again. The writing in this piece was a little too flowery for my tastes. The plot, although a bit odd, served our purposes well enough. If you're up for sex with spiritual manifestations and don't mind overly worded phrases, this is worth a read.
