"The Airport" by Unknown Author (romantic tryst). BillyG: 10, 8, 8
"The Airport" by Unknown Author. Guest Review by BillyG (hayden@mindless.com) "Airport" is a lusty story that's told in the first person from two different perspectives, his and hers. It's almost entirely narrative - the thoughts and views of either the man or the woman who is telling the story at that juncture. There's no temporal confusion: it's complete; there are no missing time segments; each event is told twice. The story's upbeat and positive and very sexy. He picks her up in an airport in a smooth and polished manner. There are no crude or rude come ons. He's hot for her and we know it. As well, she knows what's happening and her feelings are reciprocal. It's no surprise that they get it on straight away, and then again, and then still again. The story chronicles a short period of time in lengthy detail, a bit too lengthy for my taste. It turns out to be less a story than an exquisitely complete narrative of who did what. The characters are well described, but for purposes of development, they're not disclosed in depth. Shortly, we're left with a sweet, consensual sex story that ends with post-orgasmic lethargy and no promise. I could hear Peggy Lee singing, "Is that all there is?"
