You know when you're reading about shape-changing robots and characters named Surge, Blazon, Stretch, and Cherry Bomb that something is different than usual. If you can get past the oddness of the comic book sensibility in the story, you will find an above average plot line. Unfortunately, most readers not familiar with such outlandish settings make take too long to get the idea of what this world is like, only understanding it by the end. This is the kind of piece that could be turned into a series with more character development and distributed in installments like a comic book. As it stands, in this one feature, I suspect that the small amount of heat generated is not enough to satisfy most people's tastes. Rating: 6
