"The Dinner" by Suki (suki@fish.com). Guest review by Dave Myers. {Story

In some disclaimers to her recent re-postings (from the early 90s), Suki
expresses her uncertainty over whether or not her work will appeal to current
readers. Due to the brevity of some of her pieces, she wonders (and so do I)
if readers looking for a quick mental image of eroticism and depravity won't
turn instead to gifs and video clips. Sigh. This view of the world discounts
real creativity, and for the sake of the a.s.s.m community, I hope there is
still an audience for these short takes. When a story is only a page long, the
author has to come up with some pretty creative hooks in order to plant those
mental images deeply.

Synopsis: A woman goes to policeman's ball. Underneath her formalwear, she's
wearing negligee and toting a vibrator in her pussy.

The idea is clever and hot. Unfortunately, Suki never manages to convince me
that this party trick is not terribly uncomfortable for all the walking,
primping, driving, and sitting that her character does. Maybe someone out
there can disprove me. Hmm... Also, I would have liked to have seen more focus
on the feelings of exhibitionism in the situation.
