"Winning Denver" by EzRiter (ezriter@hotmail.com). {Story Link: Denver and her husband have run up huge gambling debts during their Honeymoon in Las Vegas. As is the custom , the security officer arranges to have Chet pay off the couple's debts, but then Chet gets Denver as his private whore for the duration of his stay there. Since the gambling debts were Toby's fault and since she likes the adventure of it, Denver really gets into her role. Then Chet realizes he has fallen in love with Denver, and so they arrange to dump Toby and live happily ever after. This plot had considerable potential, but I don't think the author handled it as well as he could have. Instead of being really sexy and highly creative, the story came across to me as just slightly sexy and extremely bewildering. Emotions shifted too quickly and for no apparent reason. I was left with the impression that the author had one good idea, then another, then another. He tried to put them all together; but finally discovered that this was hard to do, and so he gave up and posted the story. It would have been better to work a little harder and write the really good story that we could have had here.
