"'I Spy' Teacher" by Thomas Morris (thomasmorris@mailcity.com). Guest review
by Dave Myers.

Some fantasies are fleeting because we move on to a new one. Sometimes our
sexual fantasies are fleeting because something in our minds keeps us in
check, holding us back from taboos, guilt, or pain. With any "real world"
daydream about school children, I would really hope that most people find
themselves restrained in this manner. And we find that this is also the case
for the teacher who narrates this incredibly short story.

When a very short story lacks focus, it doesn't have time to recover later on.
The confusion that rattles around in the teacher's head about the morality of
her deep dark desires gets muffled by mediocre writing when it comes to the
details. While there should certainly be room in a.s.s for more "serious"
stories which explore the guilt associated with unrequited attraction to the
young, this one engages the reader on neither the intellectual nor the
hormonal level. With major revision and expansion, the grain of an idea that
is presented in this text could be made into something quite provocative.
