"The Trick" by Spoonbender (Theodore@spoonbender.demon.co.uk). This is one of those stories whose entire impact is achieved by its cleverness. If I tell you anything at all about it, then it won't be clever at all, and the story will really suck, in the bad sense of that term. Let me just assure you that I am hard to trick, and this one did trick me - at least a little bit. It's a short but excellent little story.
