Daren and Meghan Markley have just become empty-nesters. With their 17-year old son enrolled in the state university, they are having sex once or twice a day, every day, which is almost as frequently as they did it during their honeymoon. Daren is Head of the Department of Mathematics at the city's four-year college, and, as such, the Markley's enjoy a nice income as well as a vigorous sex life. Unfortunately, their near Eden-like life is rudely interrupted when Daren accidentally falls down a flight of stairs at work. The orthopedic surgeon informs Daren and Meghan that such back injuries are very slow to heal and that his best guess is a recovery period of nine to twelve months during which Daren will be incapable of having sex because the jerky, vigorous movements of sex will produce excruciating pain. After seven weeks without sex, Meghan is in physical distress, and Daren is in mental distress over his inability to take care of his wife's needs. There is, however, an obvious solution. Right?
