One summer day when I was 12, my friend James and I were trying to think of something to do, our previous idea of attemting to kill one another with homemade crossbows having been outlawed by our parents. I noticed that 3 of my sister's friends were over that day to swim in the pool we put up for the summer, and had worn varieties of thongs and sandals. I immediately came up with a plan to arrange some crush action. (I don't know if James was into this fetish too, or just thought it was harmless hijinx. He seemed to like it, but I never really talked to him about it.) So anyway, there's this bush in his yard that grows these little white berries (we called them "splat berries"), several of which we gathered. After making sure nobody was watching, we placed a couple inside the shoes of the 3 girls, then waited. Eventually they were going to leave and went to put their shoes back on. We met with failure however, because the berries rolled off the sandals and thongs when they put them on and then they wondered how they got in there in the first place. James and I fled at that point, so as not to attract attention to ourselves. We later had to make do with putting them under the thongs, which worked better and left splat marks for us to examine at our leisure, but wasn't quite the same effect. I really wanted some in-the-shoe crushing. Later on, I had a better idea. My sis's friend Gwen was visiting, so I took a tadpole from James' collection he kept in an ice cream bucket, and made my way to where she'd kicked off her wooden slide sandals. I placed the little victim strategically inside her shoe, so the strap would hide him from view, then we took up position to observe. When she put her sandal on, the tadpole was stuck to the shoe and didn't slide off. It got squashed when she wriggled her toes under the strap. We watched her walk down the sidewalk, listening to that sexy flapping sound her shoes made against her feet, and knowing that each step pulped the tadpole even more. Success!
