Horicon Rallies Behind Geese
Groups Offer Reward For Information
HORICON, Wis. Posted 4:15 p.m. July 15, 1998 -- Two groups are offering rewards for
information about the person responsible for running over 18 geese in this southeastern
Wisconsin town.
WISC-TV reported today that Horicon police are still looking for the driver responsible
for the carnage. The geese were reportedly intentionally run over July 8. The driver was
going as fast as 50 miles per hour, police say.
Some people are so adamant the driver be found they are offering a reward. The United
States Fish and Wildlife Service has offered a $500 reward, as has the Wisconsin Waterfowl
Association, according to a representative of the Horicon Chamber of Commerce.
Anyone with information can contact John Christian, Department of Natural Resources
conservation warden in Horicon. His phone number is (920) 387-7880.
