He was the sun of Galilee
The light that's shining still
A vessel of the One in three,
The man upon the hill
The saviour of the world and then
A judgement made by all
Within His message an Amen
To those that hear his call

You've heard this Jesus in your sleep
As fragments of a dream
The edges of his message kept
The rest sent to the stream
Of conscience, thought and once was known
The torrent loved, the torrent shown
That comforts souls to their gravestone
Attesting to their scream

This is the tail upon your back
The rhyme breaks at this point
The nowhere man's not coming back
Because this is Detente
A humble heart is all He needs
Not praise that is just tumbleweeds
But you, apart and sowing seeds
That grow into the want...

...of need within, of need from sin
To be freed evermore
To stand before the Son of Man as just a child once more
To feel Him there, in heart and hair, in burning flesh anew
To let Him know the soul you feared that none except you knew
This son of God, this man because He had to be, not chose it
Your gateway to the inner-space that frees your face upon it.
No rhyme, no reason can begin to tell you how to hold Him
Just close your eyes, request His hug and embrace overthrowing.
