This is another of the stories written for Malinov's Island, a site created by the marvelous (and prolific) author, Lord Malinov.
For those not familiar with the idea, the ball was set rolling by a story from DG in which all the regular authors from ASS/ASSM set off on an erotic writers cruise and were shipwrecked, ending up on Malinov's tropical island. My first impressions of "Descent of a Woman" weren't so good. The first
little section seems frankly a bit superfluous. Not entirely connected with
the main thrust, if you'll forgive the pun.
However once our heroine arrives on the island the story takes off big time.
What fun! It's not fair to give away much plot, save that it's weird and
wonderful. Dazzling creativity. Piles of mythological allusions and a few
really good jokes.
This is one of Kim's best stories yet. There's not a lot of sex, but I found
what there was memorably erotic. Read it for yourself.
