The Lair has stories that require story codes because of their content. Presently there is one novelette and a very long novel.

She cut vegetables in the kitchen. She tried to remain remote from events earlier this morning. Stuff had happened, stuff was always happening; that was life. She wished she wasn’t crazy. Every now and again she thought things were leveling out then everything went kerblooey and she ended up having a sore cunt and memories she'd rather not have.

Cecilia is many people: a mother, a beautiful woman, a person obsessed with sex. She finds it impossible to switch identities — they overlap. Or at least they used to overlap. Now they are muddled, her obsessions running rampant.

There are three chapters to the first part, five in the second part; slightly over 31,000 words. Cecilia is set shortly after 1990. (Codes: FM, FM+, FFM [and a hint of fMm+]; Bdsm, oral, anal, blackmail, exhibitionism, vegetables/objects.)

“It’s no joke, Johnny.” She shoved the stockings at him. “Tie me up. You’re going to tie me up, walk me out to your car,” she shook the stockings again, ignoring the look on his face. “You’re going to walk me out to your car, naked, put me in your trunk, drive me home.”

This novel takes place in 1958 in an unnamed US Gulf Coast community. There are four parts, : Switch, The Babysitter, Comes the Bride and The Revolver. It is recommended that the reader begin with Switch and then proceed to the other parts.

The first part is Switch, the story of Johnny’s and Maeve’s unusual courtship. Johnny loves Maeve but discovers she has plans for him. Maeve discovers the best laid plans get snarled unexpectedly. Ah, love. Completed January 2004. 40,000 words in 8 chapters.

The Babysitter is the second part of Switch: a novel. A month later, Maeve discovers at Johnny’s stag party (she’s one of the attractions) that Johnny has a new girl. What’s good about the new girl? She’s a former elementary school teacher. What’s bad? The babysitter is beautiful. Completed June 2004. 50,000 words in 9 chapters.

Comes the Bride is the third part of Switch: a novel. Maeve and Johnny get married, finally. Johnny gets two new girls; Johnny now has five. Maeve gets headaches. Why do they have to be so beautiful? Completed October 2004. 70,000 words in 8 chapters.

The Revolver is the fourth part of Switch: a novel. Weeks later, Johnny has even more girls (Maeve has lost count). Johnny gets another, the wife of one of his best friends. Maeve discovers she’s never lonely. She also discovers that she usually is not with Johnny. Completed February 2005. 70,000 words in 8 chapters.
