   The expanse of "The Bodyworker" takes place over many years and many
locations with many players coming and going.  The other informational
pages of the timeline and the list of major and minor players give
explanation of who shows up when during the story but only hints at where.
This page gives you a good explanation of exactly what places the story

   ~ ~ ~ The Primary Locales That "The Bodyworker" Takes Place In Are: ~ ~

   ? Raleigh, North Carolina (N.C.).  This is the capitol city of North
Carolina, about a quarter million population within the city limits,
one-third "corner" of the Research Triangle Park Metropolitan Area of a
million citizens, the other two "corners" being Chapel Hill, NC, and
Durham, NC. ? Cary, NC.  This is primary bedroom community for the nearby
Research Triangle Park, having no industry inside the city limits at all
and about 150,000 in population.  In real life, Cary is consistently rated
one of the Top Ten Places to live in America by whomever or whatever
magazine or news organization is conducting such a typical, given poll.  It
has basically no crime save the occasional crime-of-passion murder and has
the highest concentration of scientific and technical PhD's of any city in
the entire world, no exaggeration.  Curiously enough, Cary is 'not'
considered to be one of the three "corners" of The Research Triangle Park,
though something like three-quarters of the scientists who work in "The
Park" live in Cary.  Eric's first practice, the location of his first
therapy office/home combination, is set in Cary; if you know Cary at all,
you can probably figure out fairly easily the house where his practice was
located at.  Cary's eastern city limits is adjacent to Raleigh's western
city limits. ? Durham, NC.  Home of Duke University and its world-class
medical complex.  It's about thirty miles west of Raleigh. ? The Town Of
Roslyn Harbour, on Long Island, New York.  Fictionalized version of a real
town on the Long Island Sound side of Long Island, New York, about thirty
to forty miles east of New York City.  ? Rocky Mount, NC.  A small, eastern
North Carolina town, sixty miles east of Raleigh.  It's main claim to fame,
other than having more pork barbecue restaurants per capita than any city
on earth, even more than Memphis, is that this is the city where the
Hardee's hamburger fast food chain was started. ? Rockport, Maine.  This is
a fictional city on coast of Maine, not too far from the Maine/New
Hampshire stateline.  There 'is' a city in Maine named Rockport, but the
Rockport in "The Bodyworker" story is not it!  If you know Maine you can
easily figure out which city that Eric's Rockport is modeled on, but for
reasons I don't want to and can't go into, chose not to call that city out
by its "real" name.
