Summary:
Story-codes are a classification of the contents of a story. They're
provided as a courtesy to help decide whether or not to read a particular
story. They serve two different purposes - advertising and warning labels.
If people are turned-off by a certain kind of story, then the story code
warns them. If people are looking a certain kind of story, then the story
code will attract them as well as reassure them that there are no land mines
ahead.
Story codes are general in nature and are not intended to be a synopsis of
the story or to convey nuances. Note that there are many more codes than
listed here as I only listed the ones applicable to my web site.
As best as possible, all applicable codes are used to describe the contents
of the story, regardless of the level of their inclusion. Story-codes are
enclosed in parentheses after the story name. Codes are separated by spaces
and no single code includes a space [e.g. (Mdom} not {M dom)]. The codes for
sex and age are run together when those persons are involved with each other
[(MFF) not (M F F)]. These codes are run into the following codes when they
are modifiers [(Fdom) (M-solo) (f-1st)].
Story codes are given in case-sensitive form, even though there are only two
situations in which there are codes where the CAPITAL and the lower case
codes are both meaningful. First, readers may use case-sensitive searches.
Second, using (for example) (FF ROM) might raise the possibility that it
meant (ff rom) instead of (FF rom); in countries in which "possession" of
pedophilic material is severely punishable, this difference matters.
