Chapter 02

A/N: I hope everyone like the first chapter and wonder what the rest of the group can do. I really didn't have a meaning behind the name CHESS so it doesn't have a super cool meaning. The name of the group and the story is because I had the story plan, the characters, and the theme that the group will have in the story, but I never had a meaning behind the name. 

So anyway, I will start to explain the back stories behind each character soon as one will be reveal either in this chapter or the next. Also only one person in CHESS is a canon character from Harry Potter as everyone else is an OC. 

Snape is resting in the Hospital Wing as the Queen and someone walk into the room. He looks at them as his face turned into shocked as he said, "You," before the Queen's guest sent a green light at him. An hour later, Poppy called Albus Dumbledore to the wing as she and Albus saw Snape with his mouth open and his body bent to look like a pretzel. "I thought that Sadako Yamamura gotten in here, but we have no tapes so that couldn't have happen even with this being almost close to her deal of attack," Poppy said she had the notes from the Magical Japanese Doctors about the case that they called The Ring Case. The magical world was worried that these weird cases from Japan would enter their country, but that hasn't happen yet as the other case was kind of worst as it is called The Grudge Case. 

She told Albus that she will have to work to get Snape ready to be buried somewhere, but it will take her a while. Albus left as he has to get another potion teacher with Snape died. He was going to need to get someone that has no connections to the school since he was sure that the people from CHESS would take care of them. Albus walked into his office to see someone there as he looks at her. "So who are you and why are you here?" Albus asked the woman as the woman smiles. "I am your new Potions teacher and my name is Gretchen," Gretchen said as Albus decided to hire her on the spot. 

Gretchen has brown skin, a pair of earrings as the earrings are a purple six-sided star shaped gem that are attached to the bottom of a small gold metal chain that is attached to each of her earlobes, long purple hair that stops at her booty, purple eyes while her right eye has a eight-sided star shaped pupil, and she has a silver metal band around her forehead as it doubles as an eye patch as it has an half-circle shaped eye patch fused into the band which lets the eye patch covers her right eye without a problem. She wears a white lab coat with long-sleeves, a black cropped tube top that shows her midriff, black denim bun huggers, and black platform pumps with 16 cm stiletto heels. The metal band that doubles as an eye patch is to fool her enemies as both of her eyes are demonic with special powers. Her main weapon is a staff which is a gold metal pole with a clear eight-sided star shaped gem on the top. 

Gretchen walks into the Great Hall as she sat at the High Table while the other students started to walk in for lunch. Albus made it into the hall as he had to push forward that paperwork for Gretchen. He knows that he needs to keep his plans from getting discovered. `With Severus gone, I don't have a spy in the Death Eaters and people won't be able to be saved. Also I don't have a potion maker of Severus' skill to make potions for me as Horace Slughorn went into hiding. All I need to do is worry about this tournament and helping with Voldemort's plan for it which is to make sure that Harry accepts being in the tournament,' Albus thought as he relax.

"I have news for everyone. Severus Snape has passed away a few hours ago and we are lucky that there was someone to accept the position of Potion Teacher of Hogwarts. I like to welcome Gretchen to Hogwarts as she will be the Head of Slytherin," Albus said as Gretchen walks to the front of the High Table. "I will be changing where the Potion Class is and will take you there for your first class with me. After that, you will be guided by my assistant who will be here later or you can remember where it is. The class in the dungeon will be clear out so that the Head of the School can change it to whatever the Head wants. Oh and if you think I am weak because of my appearance then you don't know want to know what I can do," Gretchen said as the Great Hall darken as everyone saw her glowing left eye before the Great Hall return to normal.

Gretchen went back to her seat as somewhere else, Cornelius Fudge, is signing a paper and sending news to the Prophet. He sighs as he finish the paper then hand a copy to the person in the room as the person smile then told Fudge that they will be watching. The next day, the Prophet is delivered with breaking news that Sirius Black is set free of all of the crimes that been put on his record. Harry is shocked as he thought that Pettigrew would have to be capture to set Sirius free as his godfather appears in the Great Hall. He looks as Sirius walks over to Gretchen as she told him something before he left the Great Hall. Gretchen holds up a bell as she moves it to make a sound as seven females appear. Each female was a different age as Harry notice that each female is the same age as the normal age of each year group in Hogwarts. The girl with the number four stay as the others disappear and Gretchen walks to the doors of the Great Hall. 

The Gryffindors and Slytherins follow Gretchen and her assistant as they walk into a classroom on the third floor. Harry partnered up with Hermione as they went to an area. "Harry, there seems to be a barrier protecting the areas that the potion stations are at," Hermione said as Harry nods. "Now, I won't be like that failure of a teacher so you will have to play nice. You will be making a potion that will heal muscle damage as you have what you need to make it. Put your books on book holder as it will turn to the page that you need for this," Gretchen said as everyone did that. Gretchen was also making the potion with them as the students like this better. Only once, did Gretchen have to deal with a Slytherin and that person was Draco trying to insult Hermione which Gretchen took away points from Slytherin for what Draco said.

Harry and Hermione went to where the CHESS members are at to see what they are up to. They arrive to the group just sitting around a circle table as one of them was holding a knife. "So what is it that you want, Lord Potter?" Knight One asked Harry. "I was wondering who asked you all to protect me," Harry said as Knight One sighs. "We aren't allowed to say on the orders of the one that hired us. It wasn't your true guardian or Sirius that hired us all," said Knight Two as she motions for them to take a seat at the table with them. "So I heard that you were thinking about something to help those house elves, Hermione," said Rook Two. "Yeah, I was originally going to try to free them, but Harry had Dobby told me about house elves then I changed my mind to trying to get better treatment for them," Hermione said as she notice that that Rook One was sharpening the knife that he had. "Why don't I tell you about my history to keep you from asking about us then the others can tell you when they think it is time," Rook One said as Harry nods. "Well then I will start with my name and where I was before I join this group. I am Hamza aka The Brute and I was a popular weapons maker in the 1970s until I was betrayed in 1974," said Hamza aka Rook One.

Flashback: Hamza's Story.

Hamza the Brute as people called him is checking over his factory as he have his nude females putting together the weapons for his paying customers. He smiles as no one knows that he has the power of magic and been using it to get his way. Hamza sighs as he will meet with some of his partners as he wonders why they are even having these weeks full of meetings. `I wonder if it had to do with that new person and his Blue Magic. It doesn't matter, I just deal with these meeting and get back to doing what I am doing. If I am betrayed then I have a plan for that,' Hamza thought as his nickname isn't really true. People have to do anything to make cash at this time and even being a part of a gang is one of them. Hamza was a part of a gang and earns his nickname for how he handles things. Now the time was catching up to him and he was hoping that this will be the final job for the rest of his life. 

All he has to do is make weapons then sell them too anyone that would buy them leaving him and his employees out of the way of danger. "Just got to survive one more year and everyone can go their separate ways," Hamza said to himself as he got up and ready for the meeting. He walks into the room in a building that the partners agreed to meet at and sit down in his seat. Hamza was bored as each partner was talking about who they should sell to next as they feel something big is coming. "We need to avoid New Jersey and New York as the cops are starting to be looked into. Our base here in Chicago will be fine, but we need to get those Los Vegas people on our side," said one of the partners as Hamza agreed with them. Hamza felt something was wrong when he had gotten shot by one of his partners as the rest shot him with their pistols and look at him. "First, we need your factory and with you out of the way, we can sell our weapons to more then just gangs. I heard of a group out of the states and am planning to give them weapons. I decided that those weapons will be from your factory and I know your feelings about other groups that are seen as terrorist," said one of his partners as the partners left him to die. 

"Well, this hurts a lot, but I planned for this and them betraying me in one of these meetings," Hamza said as he holds up a quarter. "Give them freedom," Hamza said as the charms that he had on his employees activated and got them away from the factory with different memories of what they did for a living. `Well, I'm dying and I still haven't done anything to make sure that I have a quiet life. I was pushed into the game because of who my parents were and that the gangs wanted me. Oh well, I just need to get to the switch in my pocket,' Hamza thought as he couldn't move his hands.

"I see that you have met with such a sad fate. How about I help you out and you give me your answer to this question? What do you see when you look into this mirror?" the voice said as Hamza turns to see a mirror. He saw himself looking over a scene of people relaxing in peace with no problems in the world. "I see myself looking over something that I wanted to see since I was a young boy, peace," Hamza said as three people appear. "You have done things to make peace in America a little closer. So I wonder if you would like to join me and this group that I am putting together. There two girls are twin sisters and are members of the group. I call them Bishop One and Bishop Two as I am the Chess Mistress," said the Chess Mistress as Hamza laughs. The Chess Mistress heals Hamza's wounds as he asked her to take him to where his factory is.

When they got there, Hamza's former partners are moving weapons. Hamza waited until the betrayers were inside when he hit the switch. The switch was to let some charms activate making fuses near bombs go off as the bombs explode damaging the building. When the explosion happen, some of the betrayers were in a room that protected them, but the rest were killed in the explosion as emergency workers appear with cops. "That should take care of those bastards. I'll join your group," Hamza said as the Chess Mistress smiles before disappearing.

End Flashback.

"It was a few years later that Rook Two appear and we became a group as we didn't have a name until I came up with one. We were each name after a piece in Chess so I thought that we could be the Chosen Hired Elite Secret Service or CHESS for short. The Chess Mistress thought it was a good name," Hamza said. "So does that mean you were there during the civil rights movement?" Hermione asked as Hamza nods. "I protected those that were near where I was at the time. Anyway, we have a job to do and that is to protect Harry here. The Chess Mistress will like to see you and will tell us when she wants to," Hamza said as he has Harry follow him to train with some of the swords that were near them. Hermione is talking with Rook Two as Knight Two left to head to the castle. Hamza has brown skin, red eyes, and short black hair. He wears a purple short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, six silver metal rings on each wrist, six clear orbs around his neck as each orb is attached to each other by a silver metal chain, and black sneakers.

A/N: The members of CHESS will go by their real names once their history is revealed. I kind of wanted to give a little mention of the events of the Japanese versions of the Ring movie and the first the Grudge movie as I wanted to show how some movies are real in my version of the Harry Potter World.
