Chapter 01

A/N: This story was a random idea when reading stories where Albus is seen as a person using people lives like in a game of chess. The idea had nothing to do with Albus, but more with the game of chess itself as the idea has to do with the pieces. The story is deal with a organization that put people into groups of seventeen with the goal to protect one person as the people are ranked after pieces in a chess game with the person that they are protecting always being the ‘King’. Also I wrote part of this chapter during a city blackout.
Harry look around as he wanted to get stuff for his friends Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley. He was kind of glad that most people don’t know him as the Boy-Who-Lived here. Harry hated his fame as he just wanted to be just Harry Potter and not some made up thing. Anyway, he found what he is looking for when he two people playing normal chess on his way back. What caught his eye is that there is no piece that shows the King which is weird since you need a ‘King’ to play chess. There is one piece left for the second player as that piece was trapped. Harry decided to head back to the tent that he is sharing with Hermione and the Weasleys as he pass by a female wearing a black robe with a hood over her head. He look back to see that the person is gone as he thought that he saw under that hood, but he must be imagining things.
“Oh, there you are and what you got Harry?” Hermione asked as Harry gave her some of the things that he bought along with telling her about the weird chess game that he watched. “Weird, it isn’t like Wizard Chess or Normal Chess so what was up with that game. Anyway, I’m sure that you want to get ready to look at the match,” Hermione said as Harry nods. “I wonder where Ron went to since I saw him leave when I came back,” Harry said as Hermione doesn’t know. They decided to talk about random non-magical stuff as Ron came back a few minutes later. Ron look at the two with a jealous look on his face before he told them that it is time for the match as the three went with the rest of the Weasleys that were there. On the way there, Harry and Hermione walk by a blind female as both thought it was odd that someone that can’t see would be here.
They met the three Malfoys on their way to their seats as a male just appear out of nowhere when Lucius was about to do something. “You should all head to your seats as the match will start. I hope none of you are about to start anything as I would hate to have to clean up,” said the male in the black suit as he holds daggers between each finger. The Malfoys left to their seats as the male bow to Harry before leaving. When the Veelas came out, Harry wasn’t paying attention to them as most males that aren’t in love with someone and some females were. Harry and Hermione put down their Omnioculars as they saw Arthur try to keep Ron from falling over the railing to get to the Veelas. “Hey Harry, why wasn’t you affected by the Veelas?” Hermione asked Harry while he told her. “I have a deep crush on you, I wasn’t paying attention to them, and I was looking at and talking to you at the time,” Harry said as Hermione blushed. “Um, I would like to be your girlfriend if you want,” Hermione said while blushing as Harry smiles and told her yes.
After the match with the Irish winning the match, Harry, Hermione, and the Weasleys are relaxing in their tent when Arthur went out when he heard some noises. He came back in a panic then said, “Fred and George take Ginny and get out of here as I want Harry, Hermione, and Ron to head in another direction from you. Keep your wands out and be careful as there are Death Eaters attacking the camp.” The group walks outside to see people dress in black robes and wearing silver skull masks attack people as some of the Death Eaters were playing with a muggle family. “Come on let take care of the Muggles and their mudblood daughter while we are having fun,” said a Death Eater before a hole appear in his head. Everyone stop as the Death Eater fall to the ground as the other Death Eaters look to see a female holding a magnum. “So who wants to fuck with me,” said the female as the Death Eaters fire the Killing Curse aka Avada Kedavra at the female as the spells hit her. The female just smile as the spell did nothing as she then release lightning from her hands shocking the Death Eaters then another female that look like the other female appear. “This is Bishop One and we took care of the mess, but we couldn’t stop it from appearing,” said the female aka Bishop One as everyone saw his mark.
The Dark Mark is in the sky as Bishop One is looking at the Death Eaters then sigh. “Bishop Two, do you want to take care of one as they did try to kill your twin sister,” said the male from before as he appears. Bishop Two smile as she has her sister grab a leg while she grabs another. The two sisters pull splitting the Death Eater apart in the middle making all of his organs fall onto the floor before he dies screaming in pain. “Are you sure that you don’t want to take care of one, Knight One,” Bishop Two said as Knight One told her no. “You two shouldn’t do things like that in front of a lot of people,” said a voice as Knight One and both sisters bow as a female with a crown on her head appear. “Queen, we were just showing these fools not to mess with us,” said the sisters to Queen as she look at them. Queen just walk up to a Death Eater as she grab him then remove his soul.
“This is what you should do,” Queen said as she destroy the soul then keep saying, “Show them that we can kill in all kinds of way as their curses don’t work on us. I let some of you live for now in our jail,” Queen said as she waves her hand and the remaining Death Eaters vanish. Aurors appear and were about to attack them when they stop and look at the scene. “What are you doing? Arrest them,” Fudge shouted as the Aurors told him that he can fucking do it himself then left. “Sorry Cornelius, but we are busy and must be going as the Chess Mistress wants us back,” Queen said as she walks past Cornelius Fudge then stop to look at Harry. “We will see each other again as an old friend asked us a favor,” Queen said before leaving.
A month and a few days later, Harry and Hermione are at Hogwarts with Ron as Harry and Hermione are talking. They were talking about the two schools that are at Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. The doors to the Great Hall open as seven people walk in with Harry noticing that some of them are the ones that they saw at the World Cup. “Just who are you to come into this school?” Albus Dumbledore said as Queen smirks. “We are here to do a job and that is to protect someone. Since that person is here, we’re needed to be here to do our job,” Queen said as she grins. “Headmaster, can’t you just take out this trash,” said Severus Snape as Queen yawns. “Then how about this fool, you face me in a duel and if you win then we will leave. But if I win then you will start being a teacher or I will have to kill you for what you help did to the Potters,” Queen said as Harry and Hermione were paying attention to that. ‘What does she mean by Snape had something to do with Mom and Dad,’ Harry thought as Dumbledore was about to reach for his wand when his hands were bound.
“Sorry sir, but I can’t have you getting in the way of business,” said Knight One as he was behind Dumbledore without anyone noticing. “Mister Filius Flitwick, can you help with setting up the duel since Mister Dummy is caught up in other stuff,” said Knight One as Flitwick nods. The Great Hall was expanded to make room for a dueling platform as Queen appears on one end and Snape on the other. “Now then, the rules are no killing and no bad curses as we want this to be a super happy fun duel,” Queen said in a cute voice as Snape fire a cutting curse at her neck. It connected, but went through her neck like her neck was made of water as where she was is now a puddle of water. Queen appears behind Snape then kicks him. “You know, I was going to take it easy, but you broke the rules. Never break the rules of a Queen,” Queen said as she slaps Snape in the face as she back away from him.
“Sectumsempra,” shouted Snape as he sends the powerful slashing curse at Queen as she laughs. When she is hit, black blood came out of her as she keeps laughing as Snape look at her. The wound started to heal as Queen just walk over to Snape. “No, stay away,” Snape shouted as Queen made Snape see her as Lily Potter when he did that curse. All Snape is seeing is Lily cover in red blood as in the real world, Queen had grab him. “You really should keep your cool as you might die,” Queen as she put her hand against his torso as Snape start to scream in pain. “You have cause pain for people and never gotten over your grudge of a dead person. How does it feel seeing the one that you had feelings for cover in the blood that you cause? How do you feel knowing that your actions cause the lives of four people to never be the same? How does it feel to know that everyone will hate your guts as they will know the truth?” Queen said as she drops Snape.
“Your actions are the reason why James and Lily are dead along with the Longbottoms being in St. Mungo’s,” Queen said as Neville was about to move when Bishop One stop him. “How do you know about this,” Dumbledore said as Queen looks at him. “Because we are a part of a group that protect people and peace. We are people given immortality and powers to keep the peace. Everything we do is business and to pay back debts that we own. Our Mistress gave us these gifts when she found us and took us in to do jobs for her. The name of our Organization is CHESS as we are here to protect the King. The King is Harry James Potter, the son of Lily Potter and James Potter,” Queen said as she kicks Snape into the Head Table. “But this duel was for Lily as she wanted me to do that,” Queen said as she grins with her blue eyes giving off a slight glow.
A/N: I hope that you like this chapter and the people in CHESS are powerful for a reason that I will explain later. I’m sure that none of you would expect this when you read the title of the story. The tags are for other pairings while the main pairing is Harry and Hermione. Also I decided for them to get together now since they know each other for three years. To make sure that I don’t over do it, I am going to work on this Harry Potter for a while before starting a new one.
