                           The Mass Audition

                           by Georgie Porgie
                           27 September 1988

It was a fairly large building, for that town. I had it brought in
as a prefabricated office building and assembled within two days. Then
soundproofing was added to certain important rooms, and a solid board fence
surrounded it on all sides, eight feet high. On the fence, by the front
gate, I hung out a sign:

                        NOW AUDITIONING FOR MOVIE

The following positions are to be filled in a MOVIE. All
positions will be filled by local persons. Auditions will
begin at 8:00 A.M. sharp this following Saturday.
Stars: female, age eight to twelve
                        male, age eight to fourteen
                        female, age six to nine
                        female, age three to seven
Minor parts: twelve females, age three to twelve
eight males, age eight to fourteen
                        three females, young adult
                        two males, young adult
Non-speaking parts: many children, age three to ten
                        several adults, any age
SALARY will be negotiated individually, AFTER selection.

I also took out a small ad in the local paper, to ensure that every
parent in the town knew about the auditions. I didn't figure there'd be any
parking problem, since one end of that town was within easy walking distance
of the other end. The entire population of the town was three thousand, and
my reconnaisance showed a large percentage of those to be children. Since I
figured half of the town was under age thirty, and a third of those being
between four and twleve years old, and half of that group being girls, I was
estimating a couple hundred girls in the town. If I got even half of them
to show up for my "audition", I could make the movie.

Of course, the whole announcement was just bait for a trap, and the
roles for boys and adults were only mentioned as camoflage, hiding the real
nature of the movie to allay suspicions.

The day of the "auditions" arrived, my preparations complete. The size
of the crowd outside my fence at 7:30 told me I could expect to get almost
every girl in the town, much better than I had expected, but not more than I
had hoped for.

I passed out name tags for the children as they entered, and made the
parents fill them out immediately, with full name, date of birth, address,
telephone number, and parent's name. I didn't need any more than a first
name and date of birth, for my purposes, but the rest was more or less
expected so I added them.

When everyone was inside the gate, and had a name tag, I allowed
families to enter one at a time. In the first small room, I had the parents
sit. When told that they would not be allowed to be present at their
child's audition, I told them I was auditioning children, not their coaches.
I assured the parents that I was not going to harm the child in any way. I
also mentioned that if the child needed discipline or was uncooperative, I
would just bring the child back and cross that name off the list. Most
parents at that point commanded their little girls to behave and to
cooperate, or else.

Once the parents were reassured, I led the children into a second room,
closing the door tightly, and throwing a silent switch. I led them into one
of two rooms, depending on whether they were girl or boy, pretty or ugly,
the right age or too old. Either of those two rooms was very similar to the
parent's waiting room, and I pressed a switch after closing the door. Then
I donned an oxygen mask, entered the first room and dropped the parents limp
bodies onto a cart and wheeled them down a long hallway to the last room in
the building, where I dumped them. If I had used the left room with any of
the children, I did the same with them. Those I found limp in the right
room, I took to yet another room, one of the soundproof ones, where I
wrapped velcro around wrists, legs, ankles, arms, and mouths, then wrapped
wide velcro bands around them to hold them firmly to the walls.

I was afraid that as more and more families entered and none came
out, those still outside would get suspicious, but I guess that greed and
excitement overcame what little critical thinking ability they had. When I
finally had the last of the adults, brats, babies, teens, and grossly ugly
girls taken care of, I let out a breath of relief. I was ready to begin the
next part. I was glad I had made the rooms so large. There had barely been
enough room for the last woman. She had shaken her fat boobs at me, batted
her disgusting false eyelashes, and told me she was sure she could convince
me she was right for the part. Looking at her plastic smile on her plastic
face nearly made me puke. I went into the velcro room to recover, after
pressing the button for the last time. I stroked a cheek beside some lovely
golden curls, while waiting.

I had questioned the boys, since I wanted a few tough bullies for major
roles in the movie, and I had left a few of them in another room, the size
of a large closet. I hadn't strapped them up with velcro, as I had the
girls, because I wanted their cooperation. Most of the boys had ended up in
the room with their parents, which was just as well.

At this point, I started the truck, and drove away with the back part
of the house, which included the velcro room, the closet, and the packed
room. The gas was shut off, there were no fingerprints on any surface in
the remaining part. Everything had been cloth, carpeting, or rough wood.
No one would find any evidence, other than circumstantial, that any crime
had even been committed. The fact that over half the population of the town
had disappeared overnight would be news of course, but no one would ever
know what had become of them.

I didn't like the thought of killing anyone, but this damned sick
society had driven me in desperation, and I couldn't take the chance that
some witness could identify me later. Of course, if I had shown up and
asked for permission to gently and lovingly hug and caress some perfectly
willing girl from the town, I would have been refused. If I had been caught
in the act of caressing some girl, no matter that she would be smiling
happily as I did, I would have spent years in jail, and none of my money
could have prevented it. Since they left me only one way to fulfill my
desires, they drove me to kidnapping and murder. I wish I could have found
some other way, but I consider this their just payment for their relentless
persecution of people like me. I had to kill most of them, otherwise the
news would be about a mass kidnapping of girls age four to eleven, which
would have only inspired even more persecution. Instead it is just a mass
disappearance of people of all ages and both sexes.

I drove the truck to a remote farmhouse several hundred miles away and
hid it in a barn. Using a winch, I detached the packed room and slid it
aside, plugged in the electricity and connected the oxygen. In a few days
there would be nothing inside it but unrecognizable ash and a few bits of
metal. I would have to melt the metal and bury it.

Two girls were awake when I opened the velcro room. One was crying
quietly and the other was sobbing loudly. It hurt me to hurt them, to cause
a girl any distress at all, but since that was the only way I was allowed
to live, I hid my pain. I also hated using deception on them, but that,
too, was made unavoidable by their hysterically raving parents who had
brainwashed them into hating anyone who touches them. I untied the sobbing
girl, and hugged her, telling her everything was alright, that they had all
just been rescued. I told the quiet girl to wait with courage, and to tell
anyone else who wakes up that they had been rescued but would have to wait a
while before someone would come untie them. I gently lifted the sobbing
girl in my arms, and carried her to the house.
