Another Posting Schedule Change
I'd previously tried to switch to a faster posting schedule (3 days a week, vs. only 2), with decidely mixed result. I guess I did a terrible job in explaining it, but it resulted in odd downloads (meaning readers probably missed chapters), reduced responses, and a couple of other problems.
I did a poll of readers on my site, about the same time (last week), about how the 'revision of "The Catalyst" was going', and I figured out that the increasing posts was having a number of problems that I hadn't noticed, as I had similar decreases in reader responses, downloads and eBook purchases earlier when I switched from once/week to twice. What's more, they also increase my workload, leaving less time to write new material, and checking each chapter going out for final errors.
As a result, I've decided to switch back to Tuesday/Thursday postings with a repost on Saturdays (like I'd done previously). I'm hoping that will make things easier for everyone.
It seems ideal to return to only a single chapter per week, but with the amount of chapters I have left to go, that just isn't realistic. So twice a week is a nice compromise. I know it's frustrating for those who aren't interested in rereading a story, but just be aware that it isn't stopping me from writing new material. It's only affecting the timing of releases.
If you check my blog, discussion group, or my Story Index (at the top of the page), I discuss some of the new storeis coming down the pike. I'll try to get them to you as soon as possible, but I'd rather disrupt the least amount of people, rather than satisfying no one. <sigh!>
Thanks for reading, and for being so patient. Now on with today's newest chapter!
I'm now back to posting on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with a repost onSaturday.
