Chapter 070
The tour had come to an end. I was glad because even though we
were able to see the country and share the message of Christ
to thousands of people, I missed my normal every day life
immensely. Laura and I had been stressed out towards the end
of the tour. We were all getting tired of each other. There
were plenty of times when we just felt sick due to being
constantly on the go and not eating right. Laura's mom was
also annoying sometimes. I mean don't get me wrong, I love her
like my own mom, but when you're stuck in a bus for weeks on
end with someone, you really find out what you like and
dislike about someone.
With only 2 weeks left of summer all I did was sleep the first
few days after we got home. One afternoon Laura came over and
we went to the mall together. It began to rain cats and dogs
on the way. I couldn't see anything accept the lights of the
person in front of me. "It's raining hard." Laura said. "Yeah
honey. I can't see anything." I said somewhat tense. Laura
began to pray, "God please keep us safe as we are driving only
by faith and without sight. God we trust you with our very
lives and know that you are our protector. We just trust in
you for all things God. Please just give tiffany the abililty
to drive as we come through this storm. In Jesus' name. Amen."
"Thanks Laura." I said as I sighed with relief. Almost 10
seconds later the rain began to let up. "Wow God is awesome."
I said as I smiled. We got to the mall and sat in the car
until the rain slowed some more. Finally we were able to walk
across the parking lot without getting all wet. Laura held
onto my arm as we went through the main entrance. "Where do
you want to go first?" I asked her. "I don't know." She
replied. "Well Let's walk around and see what catches our
interest." I said as we just walked in silence for the next
few minutes.
We went to a CD store and browsed the Christian section and
saw our album still in the shelves. Even though we had the
studio cut of all the songs we decided to buy a copy of our
own album just for the heck of it. Laura also purchased a
couple other CD's. One of which was by Gina Owens. We paied
for our purchases and exited the store returning to the main
area of the mall. "How's your diaper?" I asked, to which Laura
replied, "A little wet." "Ok, just let me know when you need a
change." I said. We stopped at radio shack and messed around a
while. Then we went to the Gap. Then to JC Penny's. We then
went to a toy store. It was the same store where I had my
little moment of regression with Angela a few months back.
We looked around a bit. I was going to avoid the stuffed
animals isle but Laura wanted to "pet the animals." So I took
her there. She sat on the floor. I gave her a big panda bear
that she hugged. I sat down on the floor with her and played
with an elephant. Laura began to regress. I soon joined her.
We lost all realization of time and place. Laura rolled on the
floor and cuddled with the panda and began to make a poopie in
her didee. "Honey, you going poopiedoo?" I asked. 'Yeppiedoo."
She said as she giggled. "So am I." I said as I was on my
hands and knees with my face against the elephant. We both
filled our baby pants up. It was about this time when a store
manager came down the isle. "What are you two doing?" the lady
asked with a slightly angry tone.
"Nuffin." Laura said as she sat there sucking her thumb. "You
girls are acting extremely immature and causing a disruption
in the store. I am going to have to ask you to make your
purchase and then leave please." She said. "go poo poo." Laura
said. She was still totally regressed. I on the other hand was
starting ot realize the situation. "Oh god. You did, didn't
you. The lady yelled. Laura lowered her head. "Get out of this
store now!" the lady said. Laura began to cry. I put the
elephant back. Laura wouldn't let go of the Panda. "Put that
panda bear back!" the lady said. "She's blind!" I yelled back
at her. "That's it, I am calling mall security." The lady said
while lifting a phone from her pocket. "Security requested,
disorderly, back end of store. Request help ASAP." She said
and then put the phone back.
"I'm sorry. Can't we just buy the panda and go bye bye, I mean
leave?" I asked. 'No young lady you will sit down and wait for
mall security to get here and call your parents!" The lady
said as she blocked the isle so we couldn't leave. Laura was
crying. I sat down next to her. At this point her and I both
were not enjoying our diapers and were not having a good time
at all." A man came running to the back of the store. He
looked a bit bewildered as she explained that we were causing
a disturbance and she said quietly, "The one girl pooped her
pants." While pointing at Laura." "No, I didn't!" Laura yelled
through her tears. I decided to speak up. "We both wear
diapers and need to change. We both are poopie. We left the
diaper bag in the car. If you don't believe us you can walk
out with us." I said nervously.
"You two are coming with me." He said. He walked behind us and
at the entrance to the store was another guard who walked in
front of us. We followed him back to this hallway by the front
exit and he made us sit down. He asked us what our names were
and for our parent's contact information. Laura was crying.
"Please sir, we need to change before we get diaper rash." I
pleaded. He ignored me. "Sir, if you don't let us go change
out of these dirty diapers, I will just take them off and
smear them all over your desk! DO YOU HEAR ME NOW!" I yelled.
"If you do so much as get up out of that chair, we will call
the police instead of your parents. Now sit down, and shut
up." The man said. I held onto Laura. The security guard
called Laura's mom first, then mine. Laura's mom got their
first. "Mommy." She cried. "Where is your diaper bag?" her mom
asked while sniffing. The whole room smelled like icky poo.
"It's in the car." I said. Mom talked to the guard. Just then
my mom came in. "Mommy." I said as I hugged her. Laura's mom
went to get our diaper bag while my mom was being brought up
to speed with the situation.
Laura's mom came back in with the diaper bag. We were free to
go. Our mom's took both of us to the food court bathrooms and
changed us together in the handicapped stall. "I'm sorry."
Laura said while still crying. "We'll talk when we get home
sweetie." Her mom said. "I want panda." She cried as her mom
held her after her diaper was changed. "Yeah, we were going to
buy the panda bear. But the lady wouldn't let us." I said. We
exited the bathroom and headed out the doors into the parking
lot. "Mommy I want panda pweez!" Laura cried as she was being
carried to the car. "Okay. Okay." Her mom said. My mom and I
went home but Laura and her mom went back into the mall to buy
the panda bear. Later I learned that Laura's mom yelled at the
lady for being so mean to us.
The next day I went to Laura's house to play and she was still
down for her nap. I was going to spend the night. I laid down
next to her in the crib. I had brought Mr. Fluffy over since I
would be staying over. Laura seemed to love her panda bear
more than any other stuffed animal she had. Her mommy told my
mommy that she wouldn't part with it since they came home from
the mall the day before. She even had a seat at the table for
the panda bear. I thought that was cute. Laura woke as I laid
there. "Hi Tiff Tiff." She said. "Hi baby. I see you like your
panda bear. What are you going to name him?" I asked. "It not
a boy, it a girl. She name Emmie-poo." She said. I paused for
a second. I was caught off guard. She named her bear after
Emily. I couldn't blame her, I missed her os much. I don't
know why but I just started crying.
Laura also began crying. "I miss her." I said. "Me too." She
said through her sobs. We held each other. "I'm glad you named
your panda that. We need to always remember Emily and what a
good friend she was to us. I wish I had a bear named Emmie-
poo." I said. "I share with you." She said. "But its yours." I
said while sniffling. "Nope, its both of ours Tiffy. Cuz Emily
would have wanted it that way. I know its stupid but when I
hold the bear it makes me feel like she's there." Laura said
and then started balling uncontrollably. "I know baby." I said
trying to hold back my own tears. We both held the panda bear
and laid there tears rolling down our cheeks and onto the
stuffed panda. I held Laura's hand.
It rained hard that afternoon and we laid there for what
seemed like forever. Later Laura's mommy came in to get us up
for dinner. She noticed we had been crying. We talked to her
about it and she hugged us both. "Just remember, Emily lives
on in our hearts forever, and that panda is just a stuffed
animal. I know you like it and wish it were her, but it's not
Laura. But I understand why you feel the way you do honey."
Her mom said to her. "Can I still call the bear Emmie-poo?"
Laura asked. "Of course, it's your bear honey." "Actually it
is both of ours. Me shares with Tiffy." Laura said. "Aww, that
is so sweet of you honey." Her mommy said as she kissed her
forehead. "Okay girls, let's go get washed up and have some
dinner." She said after a moment had passed.
The rest of the night was much more fun. We had gotten all the
crying out of our system. We were watching funny cartoons and
laughing. Laura's mom bathed us together and then dressed us
up in our baby sleepers which were matching design. She bottle
fed the both of us and then let us watch TV until we got
sleepy. She tucked us in and said prayers with both of us.
"Sweet dreams baby." She said to her daughter. Then I also got
a kiss goodnight and a smile. I smiled back at her mom. She
turned out the light. There we were, cuddled in the crib with
our favorite stuffed animals just as innocent and as adorable
as real babies.
