                        Chapter 058

I opened my eyes and yawned. I sat up in my crib stretching.
Glancing over at my clock I saw it was 6:45 AM. I got out of
my crib and waddled over to the door. I slowly opened it and
began to walk slowly down the hall. The house was quiet. I
rounded the corner to the living room. I saw a light on in the
kitchen. I walked in. As I walked on the tile floor I could
hear the crinkling sound of my diaper with each step. As I
peered into the kitchen I saw mommy standing by the counter.
Without me saying anything she turned around to see me
standing there in my pajama top, and puffy cloth diaper.

"Good Morning sweetie." She said as she sat her coffee cup on
the table and knelt slightly to hug me. "Good morning mommy."
I said as I hugged her. As we embraced I felt her hand
pressing slightly on the back of my diaper. I k new she was
checking to see if I was messy. She then grabbed the front of
my diaper in her hand and squeezed it gently to feel how
soaked it was. "Looks like my baby is wet this morning huh?"
Mom asked. "yes mommy." I said. She helped me into my high
chair and spoon fed me. After a few minutes I was finished
eating. Mommy wiped my face with a wet wash cloth and then
took off my baby bib.

After eating mommy took my hand and walked with me to my room.
She laid me on the floor and changed me. "Ok munchkin, go get
dressed." she said as she left me sitting there on the floor
in just a diaper. I closed my door and began to choose my
outfit for the day. After pulling on my blouse and putting on
a knee length skirt I went to the bathroom to brush my hair
and apply some eye shadow. I then decided to put my hair into
a pony tail. I grabbed one of my scrunchies and proceeded to
place my hair through it.

I stood there staring into the mirror. I decided to borrow
mom's lipstick and proceeded to put it on. I then went back to
my room and grabbed a set of earrings out of my jewelry box. I
turned off the light to my room and closed my door. I grabbed
my backpack from in the kitchen where I had been doing
homework the previous night. When At this point daddy had
joined mommy in the kitchen. I gave them both a hug and a
kiss. I went quietly back down the hall and peaked into
Tammy's room. her and her daughter were sound asleep. Mom had
mentioned they were up a good part of the night. Obviously, I
had slept through it.

Saying goodbye to mom and dad I hurried off to the bus stop. I
saw Laura coming down the road as I turned onto that road
leading to the main road outside of our subdivision. I walked
quickly to catch up to her. It was a bit windy and I was
trying to hold my purse, backpack and keep my skirt from
flying up.

Laura and I talked along the way to the bus stop. On the bus
we took a seat near the back as was normally the case. The bus
ride was boring. Laura seemed sleepy. "Did you sleep okay last
night honey?" I asked. "I woke up at 4 and didn't fall back
asleep." she said while yawning with her hand over her mouth.
"Well I woke up at 6:45 which is unusual for me. Mom always
has to drag me out of bed most mornings." I said. We talked on
about small things until we got to school. We walked down the
busy halls and took our seats in the classroom moments before
the bell rang.

Laura was dozing off during class. During second period she
pooped her diaper and I took her to the bathroom. The poor
girl fell asleep while I changed her. "Come on sleepy head." I
said as I reached my cold hand up under her shirt and tickled
her ribs. She squirmed to get away. "Stop dat." she said.
"Aww." I said as I realized she was in baby mode. I gave her a
hug and a kiss on the cheek and swatted her diapered tush.
"Let's get back to class baby doll." I said as I washed my
hands and gathered up the diaper supplies into my bag. She
reached her hand out and I guided her back to class.

By lunch time I was also a bit sleepy. We ate and then I took
Laura up to the second floor bathroom as was our tradition of
late. I let her lay in my lap and suckle on my nipple. I let
her fall asleep until the bell rang. Then I had to splash
water on her face to get her to wake up. After a few minutes
we were hurrying down the steps and down the hall to our 5'th
period class.

As usual the afternoon classes dragged on and on. It was
almost bordering on torture if you ask me. Morning always went
by quickly, but afternoons just made me want to fall asleep.
Laura actually did fall asleep. I kicked her feet though to
wake her up before the teacher said anything to her.

Finally the last class was over and we ran to the bus and got
our seat all the way in the back. I let Laura lay down in my
lap. She was asleep before the bus ever left the school. When
we got near our stop I woke her. I glanced to see if anyone
was looking in our direction and then checked her diaper. She
was soaked. She sat up as we rounded the corner to our street.
I walked with her off the bus. We went to my house. Thank god
we were not grounded anymore. We had gotten off restriction a
week ago. It had been sucky.

We arrived at my house and came in the front door. Mom was on
the couch folding clothes as she usually was on a Wednesday
afternoon. "How was school today girls." Mom asked. "It was
long." I said. "Yeah." Laura replied. "Laura you look
exhausted. Did you not sleep well last night?" Mom asked.
"Nope." She replied. Mom took us to my room and changed both
of our diapers. Laura and I cuddled up after she left and both
of us fell asleep right away.

Mom woke us up later in the afternoon. I walked Laura home and
then came back and set the table for mommy. A while later we
ate dinner. That night Tammy bathed me and then got her
shower. Mom and dad had a meeting at church so it was just
Tammy, Mandi and I. We took off one of the extra big swings
off of my swing set and put a little baby swing for Mandi to
use. So Tammy pushed me and her own daughter on the swings for
a while. it was so much fun.

Later on Tammy and I settled Mandi into her cradle. She fell
asleep around 8:30. Tammy and I hung out in my room playing a
computer game online. It was a silky game and we had tons of
fun. We heard mom and dad come in a round 9 PM. I was already
in my jammies and I ran up and hugged mom and dad. A while
later mommy tucked me in and we said prayers together.

As mom was about to leave the room I spoke. "Mommy, can I talk
to you?" I said as I sat up in my crib. She turned to face me.
"Sure, you can. What's up?" She sat down in the crib with me.
"Mom I am nervous about going away on tour with the band. I
know that it will be good to go out and minister to people
through music, but I am scared. I don't want to be away from
home. And I still am a baby mommy. I can't grow up. Everyone
in high school is more mature than me. I feel like I'm not
supposed to grow up." I said. "Well honey, about the going on
tour thing; Laura's mom will be with you and then alter I will
as well. You guys will be okay. As for you not wanting to grow
up, we already talked about this before." Mom said

"But mom, I, I'm just scared, about everything, about growing
up and I just don't want all the responsibilities and all the
worrying." I said while starting to cry. "I know baby. I know,
Nobody wants that. But it is a part of every day life. Sweetie
if you continue to always revert to infantilism every time
something happens, then you will never exercise the adult part
of you. If you think you are immature now, wait until you are
thirty and still living at home and being a baby. Then you
would really feel like you were behind your peers. You don't
want that sweetie. I know your dad and I don't want that to
happen to you. We know you are having a hard time letting go
of the baby stuff and coping with being a teenager. But we're
here for you every step of the way." she said while hugging
me.

I just cried as she held me. "Mommy I think there is something
wrong with me." I said. "No baby, there is nothing wrong with
you. Your daddy and I have spoiled you to much, that's all.
Honey I'm not saying you have to quit being a baby all the
time. But you have to learn how to balance it with your grown
up life. Maybe a way to help you with that would be to potty
train you so you could feel in control again." mom said. "No!"
I whined. "Tiffany, I'm not saying we'll get rid of your
diapers, you probably will need them at night time just like
your sister anyway. All I'm trying to say is that if you are
able to be in control of going potty and feel like a big girl,
that will help you build up your confidence for dealing with
other things in life." Mom said while holding me. I knew she
was right.

"Okay mommy." I said. "And also lets try sitting in a regular
chair at dinner during the week. You can have your high chair
on weekends." mom said. "Oh okay. That's not too bad. But I
still sleep in crib with Mr. Fluffy. I never stop dat mommy."
I said. "That's fine sweetie. I don't expect you to give up
everything. That wouldn't be fair to you. All I want is for
you to be able to take care of yourself and to grow up to be a
well rounded adult. that's what a parent's job is. And I love
you so much, I don't want to see you feeling overwhelmed all
the time. Okay baby?" mom said.

"Okay mommy." I said as I hugged her. She dried my eyes. We
went out to the kitchen and I had a drink of water and then
was tucked back into my crib. I held onto Mr. Fluffy. Mommy
turned out the lights after saying goodnight. As I lay there I
prayed that God would help me cope with all these feelings and
all the fear I had. As I lay there I felt His peace and
presence all around me. I knew mom was right. I needed to take
the next step in my development. I just thanked God that I had
mom and dad and Tammy to be there for me while going through
all of this. I finally fell asleep after almost an hour of
laying there in the crib.
