                        Chapter 052

Tammy left for school. Christmas break came to a close. It was
back to school again. Robert and I had become friends again.
One day while at lunch period a sophomore approached us about
needing a drummer for our band. His name was David. We told
him that our band was Christian based. He didn't seem to have
any problem with that. One Friday afternoon Laura, Robert and
I went over to Dave's house. He had a really cool drum set. We
didn't bring our instruments, but he played a little on the
drums for us. He was good!

"Wow you really are good. We should get together sometime in
the next week." I said. "Ok cool you all can bring your stuff
over. This room is sound proofed so my parents won't mind us
practicing in here." David said. We got to meet his mom and
dad before we left. They seemed to be nice people. They seemed
to be very well off. They had a nice big house, and lots of
nice furniture. David gave us a ride to my house. He lived a
few miles away from our neighborhood. He said he didn't mind
driving us home if we could get a ride to his place.

We sat on the porch talking for a while. Robert had to go home
so we said goodbye. Laura came in and we went to my room. I
changed her since she was wet. I was surprisingly dry for
once. "So what do you think of David?" I asked. "He's cool."
Laura said. She sounded a little down. "Honey, I know this is
gonna be hard for us. But we have to keep on. Emily would want
us to." I said. "Yeah but I feel like we're replacing her."
She said as she was starting to cry. "Baby, you know we could
never replace Emily. She's one of a kind." I said while
holding Laura.

"I miss her." Laura said. "I know baby. I know." I said as I
held her. She buried her face between my breasts. Her tears
got my shirt all wet. Her nose was running. I got her a
tissue. I held it to her nose. "Blow your nose honey." I said
as I patted and rubbed her back gently. "I don't want to play
anymore. I don't want to be a Christian band anymore." Laura
said while balling. "Are you angry at God?" I asked her in a
serious tone. "Yeah, I am." She said while looking at me.

"Well, I was too. But I realized God isn't the reason that
people die. It's that sin in the world leads to these kinds of
things. God is all about changing that, through His son Jesus.
That's why we play. Not just for Emily, but for God. We play
our songs to reach out to a lost and dying world. Maybe we all
lost sight of that. Honey, we're a part of something so much
bigger than us." I said while I let Laura lay in my lap. I
propped her head up on a pillow and lifted my shirt up. I
unclasped my bra and pulled it out of the way. "Shh, baby." I
said as I cradled her in my arms.

After I fed her she sat up. "Tiffany, nobody will like us
anymore since we're lesbians." Laura said. I just laughed.
"Honey, it's none of there business what goes on with you and
I. it's just like with my mom. She breastfed me the past six
years and I haven't hardly told anybody. Like my mom said to
me one time, if people don't like you because of one thing,
fixing that one thing wouldn't help, because they'd always
find something else." I said. "You're right." Laura said.

Laura laid on her tummy and I rubbed her back and even
massaged her tushie. She fell asleep. I laid down and was just
thinking about a lot of stuff. Mom came in and said that
Laura's mom wanted her to come home. I woke her, and then
walked with her to her house. On the way home I soaked my
diaper big time. I got up in my high chair and ate dinner.

Aunt Kathy came home later that evening. She had gone to
dinner with Kevin. They were going to be getting married this
March. They had planned on getting married the year before,
but decided to just date each other longer. They didn't want
to rush into anything. She had already moved the boxes she
packed over to his place. They saw each other every day.

Laura and I had our birthday party together this year. I was
now 15, and Laura was 14. Emily would have been 16 this year.
We had a great time. We got through the whole day and didn't
cry about Emily. Although we were a little bit sad at the end
of the day. Time was healing our broken hearts. We had gone to
practice with the new drummer a couple times now. We brought
him up to speed on our songs. He really could play good! I was
surprised he didn't have other bands approach him.

Laura and I worked out a song in Emily's memory. It was hard
to get through singing this song. But we managed. We had a
couple concerts and everything seemed to be back on track. We
put off performing the song for Emily for a while. Finally one
day in early February, we decided to perform it. The lyrics
were very beautiful.

In a place where childhood never ends
I have a special kind of friend
I see her dancing on the clouds of white
I hear her voice when I pray each night

God must have wanted her home so bad
Life without her is so sad.
When I feel like giving in
She always helps me to try again

Emily...
I cry sometimes because I'm scared
I feel you standing next to me
Thank God for all the days we shared

Emily...
I'd swim across the deepest sea
Just to have one more day with you
To say goodbye and I love you

Even though I had rehearsed the song many times, singing it
live that night it was all I could do to keep from balling
like a baby up on that stage. After that song, Laura played
the keyboard as I knelt and prayed. This was totally
unscripted. This was just the spirit of God moving. The
concert continued on. Many people came forward at our altar
call and accepted Jesus as their savior.

That night back stage David confessed that he didn't know
Christ but tonight during the show while on stage, he prayed
and asked Jesus into his heart. We were all happy for him. We
went out to eat after saying goodbye to some people and
clearing out our stuff. My dad hauled it all to David's house.
His dad helped him unload it all.

It was almost midnight when we got home. We just sat talking
that night. Robert's mom got mad at him for staying out so
late but it was all worth it. It was one of the best times I
had in a long time.

The court case for Emily and her mother's murder came up in
February. It was all over the news. Both guys were convicted
guilty and got the death penalty. Even though I was glad, I
still felt sad. I prayed for them. Mom said it would be years
before they actually would be executed due to appeals and all
that judicial crap. I was glad they would never be able to
hurt someone else ever again.

Kathy and Kevin's wedding was coming up soon! March 12! It was
on spring break so both Tammy and Amy were able to come home
without missing classes. Teala would be able to make it since
it'd be on a Saturday. A lot of planning and craziness was
going on as we got ready for it. Tammy was starting to show
slightly. She was 4 months along into the pregnancy. Mom and
dad were not mad any more. The guy who got her pregnant was a
jerk and Tammy left him. She knew she had made a mistake
sleeping with him, but that was all water under the bridge.

Mommy tucked me into bed and said prayers with me. I rolled
onto my tummy. I was exhausted. Mommy gave me my pacifier to
suck on. I put it in my mouth. I regressed and became a total
baby. I slept like a baby all through the night.

The day of the wedding I woke up and changed my own diaper. I
then went to the kitchen. Tammy was already done breakfast and
had my oatmeal ready. That day we were at the church. Amy was
with her mom most of the day. Dad and Mom and I were at the
church early. Tammy came a while later. Teala was held up in
traffic but she made it just in time for the wedding ceremony.

We had a fun time at the reception. I gave a toast, and so did
a bunch of other people. Amy, Teala, Tammy and I gave them
both a hug goodbye. They would be going on there honeymoon.
When we got home I laid down. My feet were killing me. I was
in high heals all day. Amy and Tammy were too. Teala was in
regular shoes since she basically hopped out of the car right
as the ceremony started.

We ate a very light dinner since we had so much to eat at the
reception. Tammy and Teala bathed me. Basically Tammy did most
of the work but Teala was entertaining me. They got me totally
into baby mode. Tammy and I got in the crib. We watched TV in
my room a while. Mom came in around 9. She turned off the TV.
"good night girls, I'm going to bed." She said as she came
over and hugged and kissed us. "Teala is in Amy's crib. Amy
was sad because her mommy is gone right now." Mom said. "Aww.
My poor Amy. I hope she will be ok." I said. "She is fine
now." Mom said as she wound up my mobile hanging over my crib.

Aunt Kathy's room was almost empty, she had already moved all
her stuff over. All that was left was a couple extra boxes,
and her bed frame and box spring and top mattress. Tammy was
right when she said things would be changing. The past six
months had brought more change than I could have ever
anticipated. I was glad that things seemed to be leveling out
a bit. I said a prayer for Tammy and her unborn baby, and for
Kathy and Kevin, and mommy and daddy. Tammy was already
sleeping. I finally stopped letting my mind wander, and
relaxed. I tinkle din my diaper. My hiney felt nice and warm
and wet. A smiled formed on my face. I sighed in relief. My
eyes closed and I fell asleep.
