Chapter 043
I woke up and yawned. I rolled onto my back. Mommy was still
in bed but daddy had gotten up. I held Mr. Fluffy. I tinkled
in my diaper. A while later Daddy peaked in. "Wake up, it's
time to get up girls." He said as he came over to the bed. He
picked me up and held me. Mommy began to wake up. "Let's go
change your wet pants honey." Daddy said as he carried me to
my room. He laid me on the bed and changed me. Then mommy came
in and dressed me. "Mom, I don't wanna go to school today." I
said at breakfast. I stared at my food. I was not even hungry.
"Baby you need to go to school, I know you're sad about what
happened yesterday, but you can't let it get you down honey."
Mom said. After a few minutes of barely eating anything mommy
took my bowl. "Honey, do you want me to breast feed you?" She
asked while taking off my bib. I nodded.
I got out of my high chair and mommy and I were on the couch
and I began to drink my mommy's milk. I felt better after I
was done suckling. "Thank you mommy." I said. "You're welcome
baby cakes." She said as she hugged and kissed me. I got my
back pack and diaper bag and left to catch the bus. When I got
to the bus stop Laura was already there.
"Hey Tiffany." Laura said. "Hey." I said in a monotone voice.
"What's wrong, you still not awake?" she asked. "No, it's just
that Robert broke up with me yesterday." I said. "Aww, Tiffy,
I'm sorry." She said as she reached out to hug me. It's ok,
it's his loss." I said plainly. "Yeah but I'm sure you miss
him, don't you?" "Yeah I guess." I said. Laura sensing that I
didn't want to talk about it, let it be. Emily came running up
to us just as the bus was coming down the road. I took Laura's
hand and we boarded the bus.
"I heard about you and Robert." Emily said. "Who told you?" I
asked. "Angela called last night. She heard it from her friend
Jennifer, who is Alicia's best friend." Emily said. "Dang word
gets around fast in high school." Laura said. I just sat
there. I wasn't very amused. "Well I guess we're going to have
to find a new bass player for the band." Emily said. "He said
he would still be my friend and still play in the band, but I
don't know if I want him around." I said. We were all quiet.
"Don't worry Tiff, God will work things out. He always has a
plan." Laura said. "Yeah that's true." I said. "Oh by the way,
did you bring your bottle again today Tiffany?" "Yeah, why?"
"Because I got about 30 people that are going to drink from
baby bottles at lunch time just to piss off that one old
grouchy teacher that came up to us last week." Emily said. I
just laughed. "I'm surprised you got so many people." "Well,
it may be more, because they said they'd talk some of there
friends into doing it too." "We'll see." I said.
We got off the bus. All the way to first period kids were
like, sorry to hear about you and Robert. It was getting
annoying to say the least. At lunch I saw Robert with Alicia.
"Ooh that bitch makes me so mad!" I said while slamming my
tray on the table. "Tiffany." Laura said. I wasn't hungry for
lunch so I put up my tray. Then I took out my bottle. A bunch
of people had brought them but people were to shy to drink
from them. The teacher didn't even notice. As I stood b y the
wall by the tray window, Alicia came up to me and was talking
trash. "I guess Robert needed a real woman, not a diaper
wetting baby. Don't worry Tiffany, I'll take care of Robert
for you. He's in good hands." She said while laughing.
Tears ran down my face. Alicia just pointed and said. "Look,
baby is crying. I wonder if her little diaper is dirty." She
turned and left with some of her friends. Robert came by to
drop off his tray. He just slipped past me, not making eye
contact. Emily came up to me as I stood there. "Come one
baby." She said as she took Laura and I to the bathroom. We
needed to be changed anyway. I cried while Emily changed me.
After I was changed I hugged Laura. She kissed my cheek. She
even patted my bottom. She was being affectionate and loving
and comforting towards me. The bell rang. "Come on guys, we
got to get to class."
During class I put my head down and was crying. My teacher let
me leave class early. I went to the office and called my mom
to pick me up. Mommy talked to me over the phone for a few
minutes and talked me into staying. I decided to finish my
last two classes. On the way to chorus I was walking with
Laura when Alicia and some of her friends came out from one of
the classrooms. "Hey diaper girl." She said obnoxiously. I
just kept walking. "Hey bitch, I was talking to you." She
said. I turned to her. "Why are you doing this to me? Isn't it
bad enough that you took Robert from me? Leave me alone!" I
said as I cried.
Alicia walked up to me. I lifted my head to meat her gaze.
Laura moved in front of me to face her. "Leave Tiffany alone."
She said. "Shut up blind girl." You both are freaks." She said
and her friends laughed. Laura folded her cane in half and
swung it at Alicia hitting her in the face. Her nose began to
bleed. I grabbed Laura's arm and we both ran like heck down
the hall as Alicia's friends chased after us. We got into the
door to the chorus room and closed it just as they were almost
upon us. "You're late." The teacher said. "Sorry." I said. We
were out of breath. We took our seats.
After class We waited in the chorus room. "You girls are going
to miss your bus." The teacher said. "Oh, my mom is picking us
up today." I said. I didn't want to get in another fight with
Alicia. "Laura, I can't believe you. You flat out smacked her
in the face with that thing." I said as we talked. "Yeah, well
nobody hurts my Tiffy." Laura said as she hugged me. "Aww,
well thank you for standing up for me.
About 20 minutes later the teacher said she had to close up
the room. We stayed with her as she walked towards the front
of the school. "Is there something going on with you girls?"
she asked. "Um, no, why?" I asked. "Well you ran into class
late, which you are never late, and now you are following me.
Is someone threatening you girls?" "No." I said. "Ok, well if
there is a problem, you need to let me know ok?" "Ok." I
replied. Once in the office I asked the receptionist to use
the phone.
I called my house. Aunt Kathy answered. "Can you pick Laura
and I up from school?" I asked. She said she'd be there in ten
minutes. We sat in the lobby waiting. Aunt Kathy came in and
we left. "Why did you miss the bus?" Aunt Kathy asked? "Um,
well there was this girl that Laura hit before class, and we
were afraid her and her friends might try to get us after
class." I said. We told Aunt Kathy all about Alicia. "Does
Robert know she's doing all this?" Aunt Kathy asked. "I don't
know." I said. "Well maybe we should stop by his house and you
should talk to him about this." "I don't want to see him." I
said. "Tiffany, I know that, but you may be able to work
things out. Just give it a try." "Ok, I will.
We dropped Laura off at home first. I told her I'd call her
later. Then Aunt Kathy drove me to Robert's house. I rang the
bell. His mom answered. "Hi Tiffany." She said as if she knew
nothing about Robert and I. "What brings you here?" she asked.
"I need to talk to Robert." I said. "Well honey, I know what
happened yesterday, and I'm sure you must be sad, but maybe
you should give it some time before talking to him." She said.
"No, I'm here to talk to him about his new girlfriend. She's
been tormenting me and my friends all day at school today. I
wanted to let Robert know how she acts when he's not around."
I said angrily. Mrs. Taylor sighed. She called for Robert.
Robert came into the living room. "Hey Tiffany." He said as he
stood in the doorway. "Hi. Um Robert, I have something to tell
you." He sat down on the couch. His mom left the room. "What's
up?" he said. "Alicia came up to me today several times,
calling me names, and being mean to me and Laura. And Laura
smacked her with her cane today because she and some of her
friends were getting all up in our faces. Robert, she's not a
nice girl. I can't believe you left me for her." I said.
"I'll talk to her ok?" Robert said. "Thank you." I said. He
got up and was walking me towards the door. "Robert, we're not
having band practice for a while. I think we both need time
apart to get adjusted, but I do want to still be friends, it's
just I need time. And this whole thing with Alicia isn't
making it easier. So if you really want us to remain friends,
you need to do something about the way she's treating me." I
said. "Ok, I will." He said. I left. I got back in the car and
Aunt Kathy drove me home. "How did it go?" "Ok I guess." I was
quiet the rest of the way. When we got home Aunt Kathy put me
in my crib with a bottle of mommy's breast milk. "If you need
me I'll be in my room honey." She said as she closed the door.
I held Mr. Fluffy tightly. I cried and my tears were making
his fur cold and wet. "I sowwy I got you wet Mr. Fluffy." I
said. "I love you. At least you won't leave me." I said while
hugging my bear and rocking side to side. I curled up in the
fetal position with Mr. Fluffy in my arms. I tinkled in m y
diaper and just laid there. I put my thumb in my mouth. I
didn't sleep much, but I was feeling better when mommy came in
and got me up for dinner.
At dinner I ate a lot. I had not eaten much at all that day,
and I was hungry. After dinner mommy and daddy and aunt Kathy
and I went out for ice cream in town. I then got to play at
the park for a while until it got dark. When we got home mommy
bathed me and got me ready for bed. She tucked me in and read
me a story and said prayers with me. "You gonna be ok sleeping
by yourself tonight honey?" she asked. "Yeah I otay." I said.
She kissed me goodnight and turned out my light and left the
door open just a little. I laid there with my pacifier in my
mouth. I fell asleep laying on my back, with my blanket on me
and my teddy bear next to me. I woke up in the middle of the
night and I was soaked. I then pooped my diaper. I sat up in
the crib and did my usual mushing routine.
I then laid back down on my tummy and laid awake a while. I
prayed that God would help fix all the situations going on and
that He'd give me strength to cope with it all. I prayed until
sleep once again overcame me.
