Chapter 032
The next morning I woke up and noticed that Laura was still
sleeping. She was clutching her stuffed animal and sucking her
thumb. I also noticed her diaper was dirty. I laid on my side
and reached my arm around her and rested my hand on her
diapered bottom. I patted her a couple times and then just let
my hand rest there on the bulging diaper. She opened her eyes
and yawned. "Happy birthday." I whispered. She was still half
asleep. "It's ok baby just go to sleep we still have an hour
before we have to get up for church.
She let go of her bunny and reached out to hold onto me as
well. We laid there on our sides facing each other. I still
had my hand on her loaded diaper. Laura nestled her face
against my chest. We both fell back asleep.
A while later I could hear faint talking. Then I heard a
camera and saw a flash. I lifted my head off of my pillow.
Mommy and daddy were standing in front of the crib. Mom was
taking pictures of us since we were so cute cuddled up
together in the crib. "Good morning girls." Mommy said. Laura
was still asleep. I sat up in my crib. "Is Laura's diaper
messy?" Mommy asked. "Yep." I said. "Ok well since she's still
asleep let mommy change and dress you first then ok?" "Otay."
I replied. Mom helped me out of my crib. I laid on the bed and
she began to change me.
After my diaper was changed, mommy put me in a really cute
dress. She and I then went over to the crib to wake Laura.
"Laura baby, wake up. It's your birthday." I said as I patted
her bottom. "Come on poo pants. Let's change your didees." I
said as I rubbed her shoulder and back. Laura laid on her
back. She yawned. Her thumb was still in her mouth. "I'll wipe
her fanny, you lift her legs ok mom?" I said as I began to
slide down her jammies.
I also slid down her rubber pants. Mommy lifted her ankles up
and I wiped her. "Yes baby Laura has an icky bottom doesn't
she?" I said as I teased her. She just cooed like a little
baby. "Aww." Mom said. Finally we had her all cleaned up.
Mommy then dressed her in a cute frilly pink dress. We then
had breakfast and got in the truck and headed to church.
Church was great. Laura was still so regressed. She seemed to
not want to acknowledge that she was 13 today. It would
definitely make for an interesting day. On the way home mommy
made a messy in her diaper. Mom had still been wearing diapers
a lot more now days. Mommy was blushing. When we got home
daddy took her to their room and changed her. Laura and I
crawled into the playpen and were being cute adorable babies.
A while later mommy and daddy came out from their room. Laura
and I were sitting in the playpen and playing with baby toys.
"Aww." Mom said. She went to get the camera again. After a few
pictures. We got in the truck and went over to Laura's house.
When we came in people were already arriving for the party.
Laura was being very shy. She sat in her mommy's lap and would
hide her face against her mother's chest when she was greeted
by people she didn't know very well.
"My goodness Tonya, one night over at your place and my 13
year old is reduced to a shy little toddler." She said as she
held her daughter. "Yeah, she's so adorable. Enjoy it while it
lasts though. Our kids are growing up fast." Mom said as she
and Laura's mom sighed. "Anyway let's get Laura to blow out
her candles and then we can have some cake." Ralph said.
Joey was around somewhere. Probably annoying the Nelson girls
down the street. He could be a real brat sometimes, but he was
kind of cute in that 8 year old kind of way. The door bell
rang. I went to answer it. "Hey Emily, come on in." I said.
"Hey sorry I'm late. I had to ride my bike over." She said.
"Well glad you're here. Oh by the way, Laura is really
regressed right now. I haven't seen her like this in a long
time." I said. Emily nodded. She didn't really have anything
much to say. She and I sat next to each other as we were
around the table. We sang happy birthday and Laura blew out
some of her candles but not all of them.
Joey blew the rest of them out the remaining candles. Laura
wasn't happy about this. She began to ball like a baby who's
toy just got taken from her grasp. Simultaneously everyone was
like "Awww." I got up and went over to the birthday girl and
gave her a hug. "It's ok sweetie. Let's open your presents now
ok?" I said. "Presents?" Laura said. Her eyes lit up. "Me open
presents!" She said. Everyone laughed. "Here you can open this
one first." I said as I handed her my gift.
She tore the paper off in a frenzy. "It's a plastic square?"
she said looking at me? "No silly, it's a talking GPS with a
brail display compass. It even has a solar panel on it so you
can use it out doors even after the battery goes dead." I
said. "Wow Tiffany, this must have cost a fortune." Laura's
mom looked at me. "My mom and dad kind of helped me buy it." I
said. "Thanks so much. I know she will really get a lot of use
out of this." Her mom said while putting an arm around me. She
still had Laura sitting on her lap.
She continued to open presents and then after that we went out
to the backyard. There was games to play and stuff like that.
Laura's regression was contagious. It seemed like me and a few
others were having the time of our life. Even those who didn't
engage in regression and so on, were still having a great
time. Joey and a couple other boys threw water balloons at
some of us girls. I got a little wet. Laura got drenched
though. She ran after him and the other boys. It was funny.
Her mom took her inside a while later to change her out of her
wet clothes, and wet diaper. My mom and dad and I stayed and
helped clean up a little. Laura was down for her nap. When it
was time to leave I went to her room and gave her a kiss on
the cheek. "Hope you had a wonderful birthday. I love you."
I then left and when we got home I was bored. I called Robert
for a while. I had seen him at the birthday party briefly, but
he had to leave early to go somewhere with his parents.
Somehow even Robert seemed like he was growing apart from me.
When mommy was giving me a bath that night I told her that I
was sad because some of my friends were older now and weren't
as close to me because I like to do babyish things and so on.
"Well honey, time goes on. People grow, and change. You know
that. We've talked about this before." Mom said. "Yeah but
mom, I feel like everyone is going to leave me behind." I said
while I began to cry. Mom stood me up and dried me off and
held me. "Honey you've got to realize that the next year or so
is a major changing time in your life. Emily and Robert are
already at that point. You will be there soon enough. Don't
worry, in a few years the differences between you guys won't
seem like anything. It's just the age you're at. Besides, you
still have Laura. She needs you now more than ever. Sometimes
God works in mysterious ways. Maybe you're not as busy with as
many friends like you once were, but maybe that is because you
are meant to spend that extra time with Laura." Mom said.
I realized that she was right. My mommy was so good at
figuring things out. "Thank you mommy. You're right." I said
as I hugged her. She took me to my room and diapered me and
breastfed me. Mom turned out the light and then came back and
crawled in the crib with me. "Mommy's gonna stay with my baby
girl tonight." She said as she laid next to me.
I laid on my back holding Mr. Fluffy. I then turned onto my
side and rested my head against mommy's arm. She was already
asleep. I laid there a little while. Even though things in my
life seemed turbulent and unsettled, being next to mommy
offered the stability I craved. She was such a loving mother.
I thanked God for being so lucky to have her and the rest of
my family. I fell asleep sucking my thumb, holding Mr. Fluffy
and laying snuggled up next to mommy.
