Chapter 021
The weeks flew by, it was the last week of school. I was so
excited about having a nice summer break. The next year I
would be in eighth grade. The only thing is that Robert would
be starting high school and would not be at my school the next
year. Tammy was going to take off from school during the
summer. Amy decided to stay in the dorm and take a couple
classes even during the summer so she could get finished
sooner. I also was excited about going on vacation in the
summer to see family up north.
Mommy woke me up and changed my diaper. It was Thursday. "Only
two more days left of school!" I said to mommy as she was
dressing me. "So what are you going to do all summer long?"
Mom asked. "I gonna play and I wanna totally be a baby. Now
that Tammy will be home maybe things will be like they used to
be." I said as mommy was brushing my hair. "Honey, you have to
understand, things aren't going to be exactly like they used
to be. But that doesn't mean that you can't have fun and be a
baby. But just remember, Tammy is all grown up now, and you
are getting older too." Mommy said
"Mommy, I really don't like growing up! I don't wanna!" I said
as I started to cry. "I know honey. But you don't really have
much of a choice. But I tell ya what babydoll, don't worry
about that right now. You have all summer to play and have fun
with your friends. Enjoy it while you have it. Cuz once you
start high school time just flies by, and before you know it
you'll be in college just like Tammy and Amy." Mom said. "Yeah
I know. But it makes me sad that I can't be a baby forever." I
said while pouting. Mommy put her arms around me and held me
in her lap. "You'll always be mommy's little baby, no matter
how old and grown up you get. Ok baby? So don't worry,
everything's gonna be ok. Now let's get you some breakfast so
you won't miss your bus, ok baby?" mommy said while holding
me. I just snuggled close to her I put my head against her
chest and just let her hold me. Finally it was time for me to
go so mommy handed me a granola bar and some cheese crackers
to eat on the way to school since I missed breakfast.
I got to the bus stop just in time. I sat with Emily and
Laura. "Want a cracker?" I asked each of them. "No thanks."
They both said at the same time. I happily ate my snacks. When
we arrived at school we went to Miss Megan's so Emily could
get her soggy diaper changed. After changing Emily, Miss Megan
noticed I had crumbs all over me. "Looks like baby was eating
without her bib on huh?" Miss Megan asked as she dusted me off
with her hand. "Yeah." I said while grinning. "OK you girls
hurry along now. Don't wanna b elate for class. I'll see you
later" Miss Megan said as the three of us hurried down the
hall to our class. We sat in our seats just as the bell rang.
By the end of morning classes my diaper was soaked. Emily and
Laura went to lunch but I had to go get changed. I didn't want
to have a leak. After changing, I met up with my friends at
lunch. I sat next to Robert, with Laura on my other side.
Emily sat at the table across from us with Angela. After we
ate we hung out by the playground. Robert pushed me on the
swings. It was windy so my skirt blew up a few times revealing
my bulky cloth diaper and rubber pants. A couple of guys were
staring at me. Robert stopped pushing me and walked over to
them. "What you looking at?" He said while standing toe to toe
with the one boy. "Just looking at your retard girlfriend.
What you gonna do about it punk." The boy said.
"Robert, come here before you get yourself into trouble again.
I said as I got off the swing and walked over to him. "So
what, you gotta have your big baby girlfriend stick up for
ya?" the other boy said. Robert was starting to get angry.
"Come on Robert, let's go. At this point Emily and Laura and a
few other kids on the playground had taken notice of this
stand off. "Tiffany, go over there with Emily and Laura." He
said. "No Robert! This isn't the way to deal with this.
Besides, what would Jesus think? He didn't say eye for an eye,
he gave His life, and didn't even yell at those who were
torturing Him. Robert, come on, I'll really be upset with you
if you fight him." I said. Robert sighed. I took him by the
hand and we started to walk away. "Aww, Robert has to go
change his girlfriend's diaper!" the one boy said as a bunch
of students were laughing. We just kept walking.
All of a sudden I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head. I
started to cry. Then a few more rocks flew in our direction.
The two kids were picking up little rocks and throwing them at
Robert and I. Robert lost his cool and ran up to them and
punched the one boy in the face and he fell down. The other
boy came up behind him. I ran up and grabbed onto him but he
kicked me in the chest. By now all the kids were yelling
"Fight! Fight! Fight!" Emily came up and held one boy down.
While I held Robert away from the other boy. "Come on, we
gotta get out of here before the teachers come over here." I
said as we all ran off. Emily, Laura, Robert, Angela, and I
ran down the one side of the building and came around and
slipped into the hallway and ran and ducked in a broom closet
that wasn't closed. We caught our breath. We calmly walked to
our next class. We had gotten lucky, no teachers saw us out
there, and the other kids actually got yelled at for running
in the building.
Later that afternoon I went with Laura to Miss Megan's to get
changed. The one boy who was fighting with Robert earlier was
sitting on a chair with an ice pack. He claimed he had ran and
bumped into a wall. When Laura and I left we looked in his
direction and snickered. "I'll get you tomorrow." He said
quietly as we passed. A while later we were on the bus and on
our way home. We decided not to tell our parents about the
fight. When I got home Tammy was there. Her bus came in
earlier that afternoon. "Tammy!" I said as I hugged her. "Hi
baby girl." She said while kissing and hugging me. She picked
me up and carried me to the couch and we talked a little bit.
We took a nap together before dinner. Aunt Kathy, and her
boyfriend Kevin came over for dinner that night.
Later after the dishes were done and Kathy and her boyfriend
went out to a movie, Tammy gave me my bath. After that, she
took me to my room to diaper me. "Tammy?" I asked. "What
honey?" "Um, today Robert and two kids got in a fight. Emily
and I also kinda had to join in cuz there were two boys and we
didn't want Robert to get in trouble. So we tried to break it
up." OH my goodness. Well, are you ok?" "Yeah, I got hit in
the head with a rock, that's what actually got it going. But
later I saw the boy in the nurses office while getting changed
and he told Laura and I that he and his friends were gonna get
us. I also heard some kids talking about jumping Robert after
school." I said. Tammy sighed. "Does mom know?" "NO!" I said.
"Well ok when the bell rings, I will be standing outside of
your class room. I'll give you and your friends a ride home.
Ok baby, so don't worry, you'll be fine.
The rest of the evening I spent with Tammy. We watched a movie
and then I was tucked into my crib. "I love you Tammy." I said
as she finished reading me a bed time story. "I love you too
baby. Now get some sleep. Don't worry about anything, your big
sis will take care of ya. OK. Now go night night." She said as
she picked up Mr. Fluffy from the bottom of the crib and laid
him next to me. I fell asleep a few minutes later.
The next morning Mommy woke me up. Tammy was sleeping in. She
was enjoying her time off of school. I ate my breakfast and
then ran off to catch the bus. When I got there Emily and
Laura were already there. "Hey." I said as we talked a little
while. The bus finally got there. "Oh by the way, Tammy is
gonna pick us up from school today so those dorks can't get
us." I said. "Cool." Laura said. "I can take them down single
handedly." Emily said. "Yeah right." I said. "Hey you saw me
yesterday, I was kicking some butt." She said. "Yeah you did
ok. But Robert really gave that one guy a knuckle sandwich. I
wish I had a boyfriend who would fight for me like Robert."
Emily said. "Yeah but fighting isn't good. I mean there has to
be other ways to resolve conflicts then hitting people." I
said. "I guess." Emily muttered. We finally got to school.
During our second class someone pulled the fire alarm. The
eighth graders were being really bad since it was the last day
of school and all. They had a food fight in the cafeteria
during our lunch break. Luckily we were still in the lunch
line when it happened. They made announcements on the
loudspeakers that those who got caught pulling pranks or
breaking the rules would have to go to summer school. After
lunch Emily went to get her diaper changed. When she came back
my sister Tammy was with her. The teacher looked over at the
door. "Can I help you?" she said to Tammy. "I'm just waiting
here to take my sister and her friends home. I'll just sit
here until the bell rings." Tammy said as she sat in the back
of the class room. The teacher rolled her eyes at her.
The bell rang. We waited until most of the students left.
Robert was supposed to meet us outside my classroom. He came
running up the hall a couple minutes later. "Sorry, but I had
to pee. SO I stopped at the bathroom first." He said. "If you
had a diaper on you wouldn't have to worry about that." I said
as he gave me a look. "Ok you guys, we're going to walk u to
the front office, because mom wanted me to make sure you guys
get your cloth diapers from the nurse's office." My car is
parked out in the parking lot near there anyway." Tammy said.
We went to say goodbye to Miss Megan and get our diapers. We
all hugged her. "See ya next year." I said. "You kid shave a
good time this summer. Take care." She said. We then began
walking out to the parking lot. "So you guys glad school's
out?" Tammy asked. "Yeah!" we all said in unison. "me too!
Let's go to McDonalds and get a drink to celebrate." She said.
"OH goodie. I wanna milk shake." I said. "Let me guess, straw
berry?" Tammy said while making sure we were all buckled up.
Tammy looked in the mirror and was startled. "Oh Crap!" she
said as she tried to start the engine. "Lock the door!" She
said. I was stunned. Just as I turned to lock my door the
window busted out. There was glass everywhere. Two guys pulled
Robert and out of the back seat and had him on the ground
kicking him. "So you a tough guy huh? Freaking hitting my
little bro yesterday. Punk ass." The one tall guy said. Tammy
got out. "HEY! STOP!" she said. I got out of the car. Then the
guy that had threw rocks at me the other day grabbed me and
threw me against the car and punched me. Laura was crying in the
backseat as another boy pulled her out by her feet. Tammy and
another guy were scrapping. Then Tammy picked up the one guy's
younger brother and slammed him on the concrete. "Hey chick,
you want some?" The guy said as they let Robert alone and came
over to her. The guy picked up a two by four which the one kid
used to bust out the window and began smashing the glass out
of all the windows of Tammy's car! At that point Laura, Emily
and I ran up to Robert. He was still laying on the ground.
Tammy helped him up. Just then the tall guy with the board hit
Tammy and knocked her to the ground. Laura and I were trying
to help Robert up. Emily snuck into the car and picked up a
big metal flash light. She crawled around the side of the car.
The guy saw her and the flash light and he pulled a knife out
and charged at her. She stood thee and when he came up to her.
She began to whale on him with the flash light! Tammy then got
up and took the board and broke both of the guys' legs while
he was trying to stand up and lean on the car. Laura took the
guy's knife and started running off the 3 other guys with it.
By the time the cops showed up, all of us were bleeding and
bruised. And the tall guy had two broken legs, and some
missing teeth from where Emily had beat him with the flash
light. Tammy had a big welt on her back and some bruising form
when she got hit with the board. Also Laura and I had skinned
our knees form when they pulled us out of the car and we slid
on the ground trying to get away.
An ambulance came and took Robert and the other guy to the
hospital and they bandaged the rest of us up on the scene. We
then were taken down town to the police station. Our parents
were called. Laura and I were crying. Emily was just in shock.
She tended to be the quiet one when things were going down. "I
hope Robert will be ok." I cried. Laura was so shook up. We
just held each other. Tammy was answering questions. Then we
each had to tell our account of it. By then Our parents had
arrived and the police told them what happened. Tammy's car
was impounded for evidence as well.
The police let us go since we were the victims of the attack.
We went to the hospital to visit Robert. He was doing ok. He
only had some bruising and some scratches. He was discharged
later that evening. Daddy was very angry and went to talk to
the kid in the other hospital room while we were there. Mommy
was crying too when we got home. She was sort of upset that I
didn't tell her about the fight the previous day, and that
Tammy came down to the school knowing that there could have
been trouble and she didn't tell mom either.
Laura and Emily and Robert were home with there families. This
whole thing had been really intense. Later that night we
ordered pizza. Mom didn't feel like making dinner. Tammy was
really sore. Mommy gave me a bath later. It hurt when I got in
the water with my booboos. "Mommy." I whimpered. "Honey, why
didn't you tell mommy about the fight yesterday?" "Cuz, I
didn't want you to worry. I thought if Tammy picked us up
nothing would happen. And I didn't know that one kid's big
brother was gonna show up. He's the one that really did most
of the damage." I said. "I know. I just worry about you, I
wish you were still home schooled. I just don't know what I'd
do if anything ever happened to you." She said as she started
crying. She dried me off. After she diapered me we cuddled a
little bit. Aunt Kathy came home a while later. She had no
idea what was going on. Tammy showed off her bruises and I
showed off my scraped knees too. "Yeah it was a big fight. And
Robert got really beat up. But Emily saved us though." I said.
"Emily?" Against how many guys?" Aunt Kathy asked. "Well, once
she went after the big guy and took him down and beat him with
a flash light, the other guys ran off." I said. "Is she ok?"
"Yeah her and Laura didn't get hurt much more then me. Just
some scraped knees. But it was scary though." I said. "I bet
it was." Ant Kathy said. She then went and got a shower. By
that point Tammy and I were in bed. I didn't wanna sleep alone
tonight so I stayed with her. I could hear Aunt Kathy, Mommy
and Daddy talking after we were in bed.
"I just don't know what to do. It seems like things get worse
all the time in the schools. And they aren't even in high
school yet." Mom said. "Well, we can't protect them forever,
all we can do is pray for them and trust God that things will
work out. I mean today could have been worse. What if those
guys had guns." Dad said. Aunt Kathy sighed. "I think it has a
lot to do with what school they're in. Ever since the merge of
the middle and elementary, there's over crowding. The teachers
and staff can barely keep track of the kids, not much less
give them a quality education. Maybe you should send Tiffany
to a private school." Aunt Kathy said. "You may be right. I
guess we'll have to do something." Mom said. "We can look at
some alternative schools this summer." Dad suggested.
I laid awake a while later thinking about it. A new school?
But what about Emily and Laura. It was bad enough that Robert
wouldn't be there next year, but I didn't want to be alone in
a new school, and then have to go to another one the next year
for high school? I wouldn't have any friends then. I finally
fell asleep after thinking about stuff for a while. I woke up
later from a nightmare. Tammy held me. I was balling. "It's ok
baby, just a bad dream." Tammy said as she held me until I
calmed down. We then fell back asleep for the rest of the
night. I woke up the next morning and mommy changed me. We
talked about looking for private school. I Told mommy I didn't
want to change schools. I started crying because I was
irritable. I had just started my period the day before. I
locked myself in the tree house.
Tammy came up and I let her in. She brought me some lunch. I
was in disposable diaper and a T-shirt. "Honey, I know
yesterday was really stressful, and I know you're having your
period, but mom and dad are just trying to help. They worry
about you. They did the same for me too." Tammy said. "Yeah,
but I don't wanna go to another school." I said. "Well then
why don't you go in and talk to her and tell her how you feel
without throwing a tantrum." Tammy said. "Yeah, I guess you're
right. I can be a cranky baby sometimes."
"Yes you sure can. But it's ok. We all love you." Later after
we ate, I went inside and talked to mommy and daddy. I told
them that I wanted to stay at my school and that I don't want
to go somewhere else. Mom decided to let me make the decision
since I was older now. The rest of that weekend we all took it
easy. We were tired from the stress we had gone through. Laura
and Emily came over Sunday. We talked about what happened and
we also took time to play and have fun. Robert came over for
dinner that night. His parents hadn't let him out of the house
the past day or so because his mom was so upset and didn't
want him to go out and get into any more trouble. I hugged
Robert when he came over. "I'm glad you're ok." I said. We
just hugged. "Ok love birds." Emily said. "Hey!" Robert said.
He went over and gave Emily a hug. "Thanks for saving us. You
are really brave." Robert said. Emily smiled. "I'm glad you
think so cuz I was scared when it was happening. The guy
almost cut me with his knife. I had to think fast. I mean if
Tammy didn't come over there with that board and break the
guy's legs, I'd probably be a goner." She said. "Well anyway,
thanks though." Robert said. "Sure." Emily replied
We ate a great dinner and then Emily, Laura, and Robert had to
go home. The next day Tammy took me to the park. We had fun.
Then I went to Emily's house. We hung out a while. We decided
that since we hadn't practiced in a while we'd get the band
together. SO we called Laura an Robert. They came over and we
jammed for a couple hours. Emily's mom ordered pizza when she
got home from work. Later we watched a movie and then my mom
came to get me. Laura was staying at Emily's overnight. Robert
also went home. The next day I had Laura spend the night, an
the next day, Emily and Laura. Then that weekend our family
and Robert's family went camping. It was hot, but we had a lot
of fun! Even though the last day of school was really messed
up, our summer was turning out to be lots of fun anyway.
