Chapter 063
The next morning Tammy came in to get me ready for church.
Teala got out of her crib and went into the bathroom to get a
shower. Then she came back to my room and got dressed while I
ate breakfast with mommy and daddy. Daddy was reading the
Sunday paper, mom was wandering around the house looking for
her earrings. Tammy sat there eating cereal. I had a bottle of
orange juice and a couple pieces of toast bread with jelly.
Once everyone was ready we all piled in the car and headed off
to church. We went to Sunday school first, and then came back
to the sanctuary for the second service. I saw Emily and Laura
there with Emily's parents. Laura had fell asleep over there
and spent the night last night.
After church our family and Emily's family, and Laura, went
out to eat. We ate at a good Bar-B-Q place. I had a turkey
sandwich, with fries and baked beans and slaw. "Tiffany, are
you sure you can eat all that?" "Yeppers! Me hungry." I said.
After we placed our orders Mom and Tammy and Teala went to the
restroom. Teala had a diaper on, but was only wet. Mom and
Teala had to go potty. They came back and we got our food
shortly thereafter.
We had a long table. I sat with Laura on my left, Emily to my
right, Tammy across from me, Teala across from Laura, and mine
and Emily's parents were at the other end of the table. We ate
and then decided to go to the store for last minute back to
school stuff. Tammy drove home with dad since her and Kimmie
hit the mall hard yesterday. Mommy, I gotta go poopy." I said.
"Tiffany, why do you always manage to do messy diapers when
we're either out to eat or at the store?" "I don't know." I
said as I shrugged my shoulders. "Tell mommy when you're done
and we'll go change your pants." Mommy said. "You mean diapers
mommy, I wear diapers." I said. "Shhh. Tiffany!" she scolded
me. I giggled. I always liked making it obvious to everyone
that I was still a big baby!
Since mom was in the clothes section looking for a shirt to
match one other outfit I had at home. I crawled up under the
circular cloths rack. Mom sighed. "I know what you're doing
under there." She said quietly. A while later my muffled voice
came out from the rack. "Mommy, I'm done." She reached in to
the clothes rack and grabbed my hand. I came out and she
walked behind me all the way to the ladies room.
When we got there, there were a few people there. Mom just put
me up on the baby changing table, and got to work on cleaning
my messy hiney. Some people were looking at us. "How old is
she?" one lady asked. "Old enough to be potty trained, but to
young to want to." Mom said. "Uh, ok." The lady said. "No,
she's almost eleven. She'll be eleven in February." Mom said.
"So is there something wrong with her, I mean medically or
something?" "Nope, she's just a big baby, that's all." The
lady just seemed to not have anything to say. She just turned
and left. She had a puzzled look on her face. I smiled. "What
you smiling at baby?" Mommy said. "People think I'm a silly
baby." "Yes, but mommy knows you're a silly baby." She said as
she pulled my pants up. I sat up on the changing table. She
helped me hop down.
We left the store after mom paid for our stuff. After we got
home mom helped me pick out an outfit for my first day. She
also made me get all my school supplies read in my back pack
and so on. By mid afternoon, I was tired. I was cranky too.
"Mommy, can I take a nap in the tree house?" "It's warmer out
there honey." "But I wanna!" I said. "Cranky baby, are we?"
mom teased. "No!" I stomped my foot. "Ok that's enough." Mom
said. "I'm gonna go take a nap. Come lay down with mommy ok
baby?" "Otay mommy, just for a little bit." I laid next to
mommy and she soon fell asleep. I did sleep a little but
mostly just laid there thinking of the day ahead.
Tammy knocked on the door. She had gotten up from her nap. She
came in and took me out to the tree house. Teala was already
out there. We all sat at the table talking about tomorrow. We
were excited to get back to doing something. Teala and Tammy
were both seniors in high school this year. I was in fifth
grade. Robert would be in sixth grade this year. We talked
about different teachers and wondered about what it would be
like tomorrow. Finally mom called us in on the intercom system
for dinner. We got up and left the tree house.
After we washed up for dinner we said grace then ate. After
that we had a family devotional time. We prayed, and talked
about stuff and lifted each other up to the Lord. Mom and dad
prayed blessings over all us kids for going to school
tomorrow. We had a great time. We all went to bed that night
with the peace of God.
Mom came around to each of us and gave us even more attention
than we usually got at night. She even read Teala and I 3
bedtime stories before turning out the lights. "nighty night
girls. Sleep well." "Otay mommy." I said. "Night mom. Love
ya." Teala said. "You too baby." Mom said as she closed the
door behind her. Teala and I talked a little bit and then
decided to get some sleep.
