Chapter 043
"Hi Baby!" Mommy said to me as she got me up. It was a
Saturday morning. I yawned. I had slept so soundly that I had
to stretch and yawn a couple times to wake up. "Aww my baby
slept good last night did she?" "Yeppers mommy, I did." She
lowered the rail of the crib and checked my diaper. "Hmm,
someone's got a tinkle didee. Come on let momma change you and
we'll go have breakfast ok sweet heart?" "Otay mommy." She
proceeded to change me and dress me in a cute outfit. It was
still warm outside so I was in shorts and a t-shirt. On my
T-shirt it said "I Love Pampers" and I loved that shirt.
I was put in the high chair and fed by mommy. Tammy was in the
living room talking to Teala. Teala would from time to time
come out of her shell and act like a perfectly normal Teenage
girl. Tammy enjoyed her company weather she was a baby or not.
It was so weird sometimes to see her change from one to the
other so quickly. Mom said it was because of all the repressed
feelings and bad things that happened to her when she was
younger. She had been to a couple doctors and they agreed that
mom and dad should let her be a baby and that it may help her
to feel comfortable and secure again, and eventually she
should come back around to her normal self. Lately she had
been talking more and coming out of her shell. So we were all
glad that God was slowly, but surely, answering our prayers.
Mom and dad took us all out to the movies. During the movie I
soaked my diaper and Teala was messy. Mom and Tammy changed us
in the bathroom after the movie. Then we went to get something
to eat. After that they took us to a park by the river. It was
a nice cool breeze and Tammy was pushing Teala and I on the
swings. It was so much fun!. Later on We were all walking on
the docks by the river. I was looking over the edge. "Tiffany!
Don't get to close honey." "I wont mommy." We continued to
walk out to the end of the dock where there were some benches
and a little roof covering it.
We sat down for a while and Teala and I were standing at the
railing. To the left of us was a place that didn't have a
rail. It was a place for people to jump in the water if they
wanted to go for a swim. I was pointing at the little fishies
to Teala. All of a sudden I looked over and Teala had crawled
to the edge. Mom and dad were not facing that way so they
didn't notice. Then she tried to stand up and lost her
balance. "TEALA!!!" I yelled as I saw her fall over the edge.
I ran to the edge. I didn't see her. Then Tammy came up behind
me and jumped in. Mom and dad then came up and pulled me away
from the edge. We watched as Tammy kept going under to find
her. "Dad I can't find her!" Then mom and dad both kicked off
there shoes and went in. Mom told me to stay there. I was so
scared. Teala could swim a little, but for some reasons he
didn't come back up. After a moment of all 3 of them looking
for her mom came up. "Tiffany, go get help! We can't find her!
GO!" mom said. I ran back the way we came. I saw some people
By the bathroom and picnic table area. "Help! HELP! My sister
fell in the water, she can't swim. We can't find her!!!" I was
yelling. Some people came running to me and I ran back to show
them where. One guy used his cell phone to call 911 and the
rest of them jumped in to try to help find her. One lady was
holding me as I cried. "I want my sister to be ok." I was
crying. Then all of a sudden something hit me like a
lightening bolt. "Let me go." "No honey, stay here with me."
The lady said. "NO!, let me go!" I yelled as I broke away from
her ran and jumped in.
"Tiffany, I told you to stay up there!" dad yelled. "I can't
leave my sister!" I yelled back. I went under and swam deep.
My cloth diaper was so soaked. With my clothes on and my bulky
wet diaper on I could not swim as well as I usually did. The
water was not very clear either. I kept going deeper, not
caring about how much air I had in my lungs. It was dark, cold
and silent. I kept pushing against the water to go deeper.
All of a sudden I hit something. I reached out, I felt an arm.
I knew it was Teala. But I needed air so bad! But I couldn't
leave her, I may never find her again. My thoughts raced but
then in sheer determination I grabbed her arm and with all the
strength I had within me I pulled and swam up to the surface
When my head came up I was coughing and I almost let go of her
arm. "I HAVE HER ARM, COME GET HER!" I yelled. Dad came over
and got her and then I just passed out in mom's arms. Mom
carried me to shore. Tammy did CPR on Teala, she coughed up
some water. Then she was breathing again.
We were all soaked and cold and Teala and I had very bulky
diapers that made it hard to walk. Some people gave us towels
to wrap up and dry off in. The ambulance came and checked
Teala out. She was ok. They said a minute longer and she would
have had brain damage. I just thanked God for that sudden
burst of energy to go find her. I knew when it hit me that I
was supposed to go in and save her. God gave me the strength.
I told mom what happened and she just thanked God that I was
obedient to God, even when it meant that I had to go against
man. We were so glad that Teala was ok.
The next day in church we testified about how God helped our
family and how he had told me to go in after her. The preacher
was just praising God with us. "Isn't it funny; God said that
little children would lead the way." The preacher said. We
came home had lunch and took naps. All of us were exhausted.
That night I went out to the tree house and Teala was there.
Tammy was on the phone in her room. I sat next to Teala. "Hi."
I said. "Hi Tiffy." She said back to me. "Thanks for saving
me, you could have died going in that deep. They told me you
went in deeper than anyone else. How did you ever pull me up
Tiffany?" "I don't know Teala. I don't know how it happened.
All I know is God gave me that strength to do that. He saved
you Teala, I was just willing to do what he asked." "You're
right. But still, you're my hero." "Well it was God though."
"Yeah it was, but you were brave enough to do what needed to
be done, and that does make you a hero Tiffany." I smiled at
her. "I just can't believe all the stuff we've all been
through, even since I got here." Teala said. "Yep, but it's
been one heck of an adventure." "Sure has." "Teala?" "Yes?"
"Come here." I had a tear in my eye. I got up off my tushie
and knelt in front of her and just threw my arms around her
and just hugged her so tightly and I began to ball like a
little baby.
She cried with me. We both took turns comforting each other.
All the stress of yesterday just came pouring out. We cried
tears of happiness and we just were so joyful about how things
turned out. Mom came up a while later. We were finished crying
by then, but both of us were wet from tears rolling down our
cheeks and onto each other's shirts. "Wow you two must have
been crying a river in here. Is everything ok?" Mom asked as
she knelt down to hug us. "Yep mommy, we ok now." "Good, I'm
glad. Why don't you two come in and mommy will get you ready
for bed and read you your favorite bed time story. How does
that sound?" "Yay!" I said as I smiled. "Teala also smiled.
After we were tucked in she read to us. Teala and I both were
both so tired we didn't even hear the end of the story. I fell
asleep on my side. I was in disposable diapers because all my
cloth ones were in the wash. Mom rolled me onto my back so I
wouldn't leak. I fell asleep and in the middle of the night I
must have moved back onto my side.
I woke up the next morning to find Tammy standing over my
crib. "Hi sweetie." She said as she reached her hand out to
help me out of my crib. "Hi Tam Tam." I said as I hugged her.
She checked my diaper and of course I was wet. Since I had
slept on my side last night my diaper leaked and my jammies
were slightly wet. "Ut-oh, someone's jammies are wet. Did
baby's diaper leak?" she teased me and then I smiled and
yawned. I Stood there next to the crib as she helped me out of
my wet jammies. Then she laid me on a changing mat on the
floor and knelt down in front of me to take off my wet diaper.
I was wearing disposables that night because all my cloth
diapers were in the wash. I never usually leaked when I was in
cloth diapers at night.
A few minutes later I was dressed and sitting in my highchair
eating breakfast. Teala was across from me in her highchair as
well. Since Tammy was doing home school and working in the
afternoons, she would help mommy get Teala and I up and get us
changed and fed in the mornings.
After breakfast I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and
grabbed my backpack out of my room and hurried to go catch the
bus. Mom stopped me at the door and gave me a hug and a kiss.
I walked quickly to the end of the street to stand at the bus
stop. Laura was already there and Emily was on her way. Laura
was talking about how she thought it was fun hanging out with
Robert last night. I told her I thought it was fun to. Just
then Emily came up to us. "Hi!" she said with a smile. "Hi
Emily, how you doing?" "Me doing good and you?" "Good."
"Cool." "So did you have a good time last night when we were
playing with Robert?" "Yep, he's ok, for a boy." We laughed.
The bus came, we sat in our usual seats toward the back. We
talked all the way to school. I was so glad to see Robert at
lunch that day. He sat with us. Eric got expelled Friday for
using excessive profanity all the time. He wouldn't listen to
what the teachers said at all. So they told him if he couldn't
obey school rules, to leave. He was a mean kid too. I was so
glad he was gone. I was getting tired of all his bad talk.
After lunch we went back to class and it was a normal school
day. The bell rang, I was the first to leave. I met Robert out
by the busses just to say bye for the day. On the way home
Emily and Laura teased me about liking him. I denied it
completely, but it was obvious that I liked him a lot.
That afternoon instead of taking a nap I asked mommy to put me
in my baby swing. I always enjoyed the relaxing swaying back
and forth. I had my pacifier in my mouth and I fell asleep
swinging while clutching my little teddy bear. Mom even got a
picture of it. She said that since I've become a big baby,
she's took more pictures for the photo album than she did when
I was a real baby. I was woken for dinner, changed and fed.
The rest of the night I did home word and then asked Tammy to
tuck me in early. She gave me my bath and got me ready for bed
at around 7:30pm.
"Something's on your mind isn't it Tiffy?" Tammy asked as she
was putting my jammies on me. "Yeah, I guess." "I know what it
is." Tammy said as she smiled. "What?" I asked as she paused
for a moment. "You like that boy that came over on Friday,
don't you?" I blushed and nodded. "Aww, how cute. Tiffy has a
boyfriend." She started to tease me. I was a bit cranky so I
started to cry and throw a fit. "Oh ok, ok, calm down, I won't
tease you anymore ya big baby." She said as she leaned down to
hug me and pick me up. She put me in my crib. She read me a
story and then I pretended to be asleep. She left the room.
I laid there daydreaming about being with Robert and my
friends and playing house, and having fun and not having to go
to school anymore. After a while I grew tired and rolled over.
I wet in my diaper a little bit and then I moved around until
I got comfortable. I soon drifted off to sleep.
