Chapter XIII: No Quarter
Dana stares at the diagram as she glides her finger across the vidscreen. Color coded lines light up as she navigates the labyrithine web of cellblocks and antechambers. She scrutinizes the layout as she plots her pathway inside her head. Her eyes glaze over as she stares at the red-green-yellow lines.
Dana sighs.
She sips her coffee and studies the layout again. The reeducation center must be somewhere in here. Maybe there’s a chamber she overlooked. She rubs her eyes as she studies the diagram once more.
“They all look the same,” She stares at the suite of rooms. “it’ll be a million years before I or anyone else finds it.”
The sound of footsteps catch her off-guard. She glances at her sister’s sopping wet hair as drops of water drift towards the hardwood floor below. Dana grumbles under her breath.
“You know how much Dad paid for that?” She stares at the rustic pine flooring. “and what are you doing wearing my robe?”
“I only threw it on because I couldn’t find anything else to wear.” Anna grips her coffee cup tightly. “Besides, I thought everything here was made of pure thought.”
“That isn’t the point,” Dana glares at her. “and I don’t feel like spending an entire afternoon recreating the living room from scratch.”
Anna stares at the multicolored lines on the screen.
“Is that what I think it is?” She furrows her brow.
“Affirmative,” Her sister stares at the vidscreen. “One of my contacts inside the facility smuggled it out about a year ago. This is the entire blueprint for the prison. Thirteen hundred cellblocks, a hundred antechambers, a control room, reeducation center...not to mention a plethora of video cameras for the Vang’s viewing pleasure.”
Gray circles through hallways, gliding to and fro across the screen. If Anna didn’t know better, she’d think it was one of the antique video games she read so much about in history glass. She blinks, dumbfounded.
“Those are the sentinels,” Dana explains. “I programmed the computer to simulate their movements based on data I obtained before I escaped. It isn’t perfect, but it does a good job most of the time.”
“Is that in real time?”
“Unfortunately, no.” Dana brushes aside a lock of violet hair. “But I’ve yet to be run into any problems.”
A blast of cold air descends on the duo as they grow quiet. The uncomfortable silence looms for several minutes as Dana stares out the window, lost in thought. A concerned Anna looks on.
“Something the matter?”
“No,” Dana shakes her head. “just thinking about someone.”
The silence grows more ominous as she continues to stare at the sunlight shining through the trees. Dana sighs forlornly as she stares into the distance, gripping her mug as though holding on for her life.
“Ever wonder what our lives would’ve been like if the Vang hadn’t separated us?”
“All the time.”
“I always hoped Jimmy and I would’ve been married some day. The thought of being a military wife didn’t bother me, really. Traveling to far away places, meeting new people... I wonder what ol’ Jimmy’s doing right now. Probably guarding a colony fort or something. Damn he was handsome...”
“Do you know what it’s like to miss someone?” Dana glances at her sister.
“Of course,” Anna stammers. “not a moment passed that I didn’t think about you...”
“Not like that,” Dana corrects her. “I mean a special someone, like my Jimmy...”
“Of course I do. I miss her everyday...”
Dana raises an eyebrow.
“Well I’ll be.” She leans back. “I guess it doesn’t matter either way, though.”
The sound of rattling china reverberates through the house as it shakes violently. The sisters take cover under desks and tables. Anna’s heart pounds. What’s going on?
“Feels like an earthquake. Did you create this?”
“Not that I’m aware of,” Dana surveys the damage. “must be some kind of anomaly.”
The tremblor disappears as quickly as it arrived, leaving the sisters shaken. They survey the damage, feeling lucky to be alive—even if the terror is all in their head. Dana fumes as she studies a giant crack creeping up the wall.
“So much for a lazy afternoon. Shit.”
She spies a bright light in the corner of her eye. It lasts only a fraction of a second before vanishing. Dana glances through the window. The skies are suddenly cloudy and gray. Dana shivers.
“What was that?”
“I think I saw something.”
The sisters look on as the house creaks ominously. The sound of their heartbeats rush through their ears as the noise gets louder. Railings collapse toward the floor. Followed by exposed woodbeams. The girls exchange anxious looks as they flee outside.
They watch in horror as the house crumbles, sending a plume of dust into the air. A chill lingers in the air as Dana suddenly wishes she had something wearing more on than trunks and a tank top. She spies the bright light again as it hovers in the horizon, looking more sinister by the minute.
“I’m freezing like a witch’s teat out here. Are you ok?”
Anna nods.
“What’s that in the sky?” She gestures.
“I don’t know, but it doesn’t look good.”
The light grows larger as it approaches. Dana squints. She can just make out the distinctive frame of it’s steel body and large tentacles, it’s haunting red eyes leaving no doubt as to it’s origin. Her stomach clenches.
“Anna, I don’t want to scare you but...”
“Run!”
The sisters take off, flying across the dirt path as the sentinel hovers overhead. They pant as they run, trying to put as much distance as possible between them and the machine. They can feel it bearing down on them as they flee, wondering how it managed to materialize in their universe. They reek of sweat as they rush across a field towards a thicket of trees, hoping to cheat fate a second time.
Anna trips as the sentinel closes in on them, cursing her own luck.
“Get up!” Dana screams. “We don’t have much time!”
Anna moans.
“My ankle...” She grasps her calf.
Dana rushes to her sister’s aid, only to be swatted away.
“No,” Anna protests. “Save yourself.”
“I’m not losing you.” Dana grows teary-eyed. “Not again.”
“The rebellion can continue without me,” Anna reassures her sister. “what’s important is that you make it out of here alive.”
Anna’s screams echo across the meadow as Dana runs for dear life. A forest of trees looms in the distance. A burning sensation shoots through her legs. Dana grimaces through the pain. If only she can make the distance...
Dana collapses onto the ground as her legs give out, panting. She drags herself across the meadow in a desperate attempt to escape as the wind whips through her hair. She glances at the sentinel as it looms overhead. She barely resists as it’s tentacles wrap around her torso and legs, resigned to her inevitable fate. She glances at her injured sister next to her.
“At least we’re together...” Dana mumbles before passing out.
“Is this thing on?” Vanessa adjusts her headset.
“Of course it is,” Caitlin glances at her incredulously. “It worked yesterday, didn’t it?”
“I just wanted to make sure. How’s the feed?”
“Fine as could be.”
“I’m not asking how you feel. I just want to know if there are any problems with it, like if the hardware was compromised or there was a software glitch.”
Caitlin coughs.
“For an optimist, you’re damned paranoid.”
“I’m not paranoid,” Vanessa tests her connection. “I’m just covering my bases.”
The screen flickers as Caitlin adjusts the focus. The pair stare anxiously at the vidscreen, for several seconds, their ample breasts straining against their skin-tight bodysuits. Caitlin glances at her disheveled hair. With any luck, the Vang will fall for the look hook, line and sinker. If they don’t decide to zap them into oblivion, that is.
“Hailing frequencies in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...”
A Vang spit-takes upon sight of the girls, spittle decorating his once immaculate vidscreen.
“Who are you, and how’d you find this frequency?”
Vanessa’s doe-eyed stare greets him.
“My name is Vanessa, and this is Caitlin. We’re deserted our unit a couple days ago and we’re wondering if we could defect.”
The Vang scratches his head.
“You CSF?”
Caitlin nods.
“We used to be pilots for convoy ships, but when we realized that the cargo we were carrying were being used to slaughter civilians the thought of having Vang blood on our hands made us sick. When we learned how your people lived in the colonies, we knew we didn’t have any other choice. When the time was right we went AWOL during a training mission. We decided not to contact you until the coast was clear...”
The Vang nods.
“When did you make this decision?”
“Three months ago, sir.”
“Does your squadmates know?”
Vanessa shakes her head.
“We never told anybody sir, not even the chaplain.”
“I see...”
Vanessa leans forward, giving the young officer ample sight of her breasts. He barely restrains himself from staring.
“It’s been very lonely for us the past several weeks,” She pouts. “We’ve tried to make do, but there’s only so much we girls can do. We’re heard so much about the...stuff your men can do. If it isn’t any trouble, we’d love for you to arrange some introductions. That is, if you don’t mind.”
Vanessa winks.
The Vang nearly falls over himself with excitement. He wipes the drool from the corner of his mouth and glances at the screen. A pair of nubile women offering themselves to him with no resistence? This wouldn’t happen in his wildest dreams!
“Why, of course...” He stammers. “I’ll have one of our pods pick you up immediately.”
“We’d rather make the trip ourselves,” Vanessa cuts him off. “Operational security. I hope you understand.”
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea. Our ship is so far away...”
“Don’t worry about it.”
“Let me run this up the flagpole first. The commander is going to be so excited!”
“We’ll be in touch.”
The screen fades as Caitlin ends the transmission.
“Do you think he’s bought it?” Vanessa removes the headset.
“Bought it?” Caitlin laughs nervously. “He practically drooled over you.”
Vanessa eyes Caitlin warily.
“You don’t like this idea at all, do you?”
“It’s not what I would do, but hey, I’m not the one hell-bent on a suicide mission.”
Vanessa shoots a look.
“Just do your job.” She clutches her locket tightly.
The screen flickers once more.
“Hang on, getting a call...”
Vanessa blinks as Kolkata Amrita’s visage comes into focus.
“Do I know you?”
“I’m doctor Kolkata Amrita. Anna and I met on Taurus a few months ago. Is she available?”
“She’s...away on an expedition. Is there something you need to tell her?”
“My team has been looking into why the Vang’s mental abilities are so powerful. We’ve been able to isolate a specific gene responsible for brain growth. When this gene is activated, it activates a chemical that stimulates their cerebral cortex allowing to develop cognition, language...you name it.”
“Like we do,” Vanessa nods. “What else?”
“Whereas our brains stop growing by our 30s, theirs mature even faster. Moreover, because their skulls are so large they’re able to hold more space. An adult human skull has 1800 ccs of space. A Vang adult, 3000, and I saved the best part for last. Because their brains are so large, they’re able to tap into aspects of our consciousness that we can’t. Vang have been known to levitate, communicate telepathically, even...”
“Control minds.”
“We don’t know exactly how, but we think they’re able to hijack our alpha waves for lack of a better word—sort of like hijacking a radio feed, but more so.”
“Is there a way for us to protect ourselves?”
“Heck if I know,” Koklata shrugs. “I’d invest in some tinfoil if I were you.”
“Thanks for the heads up, Doctor Amrita.”
Vanessa terminates the signal.
“You heard what the doctor said,” Caitlin glances at her. “We’d be crazy to follow through with this.”
“What choice do we have?”
“Fire up the engines to hyperspace five! Full speed ahead!”
“Whatever you say, captain.” Caitlin mumbles under her breath.
Vanessa grips the arms of the captain’s chair tightly as the ship enters brightly. Multi-colored red-blue-green lights suddenly fill the comm as the Orion whirls through space-time. But it’s not just the sensation of speeding through the galaxy that Vanessa experiences. Warmth envelops her as the locket glows brightly. Her thoughts meander with as time slows down. Yet as her mind wanders, a strange warmth envelops her. Vanessa yawns.
“Cavalry’s coming, baby...” She grasps the locket. “Cavalry’s coming.
The hall is deathly still as the prisoners lay on their backs. Rays of light shine into their eyes as they toss and turn. The shout or outbursts jolt them awake. They groan and rest on their sides. Like many things in this hellish facility, sleep is hard won here.
Yet tucked away in a private chamber, a woman whimpers, her muffled footfalls reverbating off the insulated walls. The sound are too indistinct to make out. But anyone who’s done enough time could recognize the cries for what they are. The low groan of a Vang guard echos through the room.
A naked Captain Lee kneels submissively at his feet, her raven hair a disheveled mess. Her eyes plead as she gazes expectantly at him. Begging, hoping praying...
“Vang cock?” Her voice is almost pleading.
She nuzzles the inside of his leg. Her gutteral moan leaves no doubt as to her intentions. Yet the Vang guard is unmoved.
Captain Lee gazes up at him again.
“Vang cock?” She begs as she reaches for the crotch of his pants.
The guard swats her hand away.
“I’m not ready.” He bellows.
Captain Lee lowers her head.
Just a few months ago, she’d been one of the most successful military contractors in the galaxy. With a ship to her own name and several missions under her belt, she was the Delta Quadrant’s best kept secret. Her clients included monarchs, generals, revolutionaries. The odd celebrity or two.
Now she’s reduced to living in a cramped cellblock, begging for sex from guards. Masterbation gives her some relief, but what she really desires is to be dominated and owned. At least until she’s sent away.
The old Lianna Lee would never stand for this. But weeks of brain swiping and reeducation had altered her perceptions. Though she vaguely remembers her old life, her memories of Nikki, Anna and the Orion Crew had been replaced with new ones. As far as she is concerned, she’d always been a slave. Serving and obeying is second nature to her.
She wanders around on all fours as she circles the guard.
“Vang cock?” She nuzzles his leg again, emphasizing every word.
The guard feels his member swell. He unzips his pants, giving her a taste of what’s to come. She briefly grasps it in her hands before he zips himself up again.
She whimpers.
“Stay!” He commands her.
Captain Lee watches as he walks into an adjacent room. Captain Lee could barely make out the shadows in the darkness. She perks up.
Is this some sort of game? Is he testing her?
The guard reemerges, a leashed captive in tow. Her strawberry blonde hair falls over her eyes as she wanders on all fours. She looks familiar somehow, yet the captain can’t place her. She cocks her head bemusedly.
The captives circle each other as they stare, each wondering the same thing: Who is this person?
The women chase each other as he removes the leash. They giggle and play as they sniff each other. The strawberry blonde reeks of sweat. Yet Captain Lee doesn’t seem to mind.
“That’s enough.” The guard calls back to them.
The pair rejoin him as he unzips his pants in earnest. The captives jockey with each other as they fight to have the first taste. They push and bite, eliciting yelps of pain. The guard shoots a look.
“No!” He raises his voice. “Bad!”
The captives settle down.
For Captain Lee, it marks the first time she’s ever had to share anyone. Since her arrival she’s had a string of lovers, and the dynamics were always clear. There was a dominant, them, and a submissive, her. Little room for others.
Now she was being asked to do the impossible. Yet the strawberry blonde didn’t feel threatened by her. She could hold her own in battle. Yet she doesn’t try to push her would-be rival out—far from it. She is almost cordial—like a playmate splitting a dessert with a friend.
The women take turns licking and kneading the guard’s half-erect member. Their ass-cheeks press against each other as they sample it, coating him in saliva. It is the closest either has been.
The guard groans as his eyes flutter. He feel the pressure building inside of him. He struggles to hold back, but it’s a losing effort. The head swells as the liquid accumulates.
“Oh Jove...” He moans. “I think I’m about to...EXPLODE!”
He ejaculates, soaking the women in quarts of come. The purplish goo coats their faces and chests. They gulp it down like milk, oohing and aahing with pleasure.
A curious process occurs when a captive ingests Vang sperm. Like its human counterpart, it contains proteins, and pheromones to encourage the furthering of offspring. But that is where the similarities end. As the genetic material is absorbed into the human body, a foreign protein travels through the bloodstream, altering the brain’s chemical balance. This in turn throws the captives into a temporary animal-like state. Captives cluck, bark, purr, even behave like primates.
Captain Lee and the strawberry blonde are no different.
They take turns grooming each other, licking the leftovers off. It quickly becomes playful as they swap come in each other’s mouths. They they moan and gasp as they grope each other. For the guard, this is the biggest turn-on ever.
Captain Lee writhes as the strawberry blonde pins her down. Her nipples become hard as her playmate nibbles. She giggles as a tongue swirls around her belly button.
She jolts with the furtive samplings of pussy. Undeterred, the strawberry blonde continues to explode as she flicks her tongue. She savors the tanginess as she rolls her tongue around the roof of her mouth. Captain Lee quivers.
For her, each sensation is a slice of heaven all it’s own. Her lips bleed as she bites down. Hot tears stream down her face as the strawberry blonde increases her tempo. She cries out sharply as she comes. The floor pools with puddles of her own juice.
“Mmmmmmmm...” She purrs as she goes limp.
The strawberry blonde smiles.
